  1. Wanting Marcus Vick here is very similar to wanting another sexual assault or armed robbery to occur in Denton, TX. No thanks.
  2. I'm pretty worried about this season. I could see us going about 5-6 this year, which I guess would be an improvement. Still can't even visualize an OOC win. I think it all depends on Jamario and Isaac Thomas. If they're both healthy, Jamario has another 2004, and Isaac does 80% of what Booger did, we have no worries and maybe win the Belt again. Other comment: How in the hell does a team that hasn't thrown a pass in 10 years get so many good receivers?
  3. OK.... so when I see him at the bar, would he prefer that I get up and yell, "THROW THE BALL" or "THAT'S YOUR PENALTY, DICKEY," instead of a friendly "Hi Coach?"
  4. Talk about "who cares" alright. The dolphins are still a team? F TO. Long live George Teague.
  5. MeanMag's true identity has been revealed: Skip Dynamite. "I know there's a babe out there for you, Napoleon."
  6. Awesome HSO.
  7. Especially now that our hopes this year are pinned largely (though not completely) on the success of our JUCO transfers.
  8. I hear you. It worked for OU last year some... they put Paul Thompson in as a WR, and still used him at QB when Bomar went down.
  9. Great comments all around. Isaac Thomas, Tobe Nwigwe, and Graves stood out on Defense. Graves had a killer sack. Thomas shows some Booger-like flashes, like the play when he lost his helmet. Seems like Holman made a big hit too. I'm not smart enough to comment on the OL, at least not after one game. But Thomas might have been making the white OL look bad. I was surprised that Quinn and Joel Nwigwe were stacked on one team, so I looked for that to favor Phillips. I don't think it did though. In general his attempts were more on-target than Woody's, and I would guess 10 yards longer on average. Quinn and Nwigwe had a good endzone celebration. I wasn't focusing much on the DBs, but overall it seemed like they were falling down a lot. Brandon Jackson wasted one of them on a too-high pass from Woody. Looked like he jumped 3 feet over the guy's head. And the play when Quinn leveled Oubre was pretty funny.
  10. Phillips. His passes were spot on, and he threw plenty of long ones. Woody is as fast as advertised. He did have one killer TD pass to Muzzy for probably 35 yards, but he had a few bad throws too. He is a player and belongs on the field whether he is the QB or not. I just think that with WR talent like Quinn, Nwigwe, Brandon Jackson, (and maybe Guy Fernandez, after seeing him make a few plays last night) you need to put a QB on the field that can air it up. I think that if the OL is worth a damn this year we have the opportunity for a really crazy, tricked up offense. A QB that can throw and work under pressure (as Phillips demonstrated last year @FAU), killer WR's, Jamario, Evan Robertson, and Devin Cox @ RB..... Then I'd put Woody in on some plays as a split end or wideout and he becomes the X-factor. But we have the Buick. Look for Jamario up the middle whether it works or not.
  11. If Jamario is academically ineligible this year then I'm sitting this season out. That's more than I can take.
  12. Ieans is to SilverEagle as Newman is to Seinfeld. Surely even you have to admit, he didn't look bad last night. But there should be no question as to who our front runner is at QB.
  13. What UT game? We couldn't possibly be playing UT this year..... I don't know where you guys heard that. We have a 10-game season that starts at home vs. SMU. It may end at home vs. SMU, too.
  14. Northern California construction cost vs. metropolitan Texas construction cost. I can't believe Stanford had an 85K seat stadium.
  15. By who?! Was Quinn playing defense?!
  16. Any time you hear mention of an artist and your immediate reaction is, "Hey, I had that TAPE," you should strongly consider whether or not to admit it. That said, I must be at least 5 years older than you guys, because my tape collection primarily consisted of Huey Lewis and the News.
  17. That's a good point. I'll cut him some slack there.
  18. I think the 3-4 GMG.com volunteers are running journalistic circles around Brett Vito. The Denton Wretched Comical usually steps it up to daily coverage during summer practice, but you can always count on the last 3-4 paragraphs to contain the exact same information.
  19. Former Ryan Raider great, if I'm not mistaken.
  20. I don't think Nwigwe gets enough credit for his 2003 season. Last year was a bust for everybody. We'll see. We have to find someone that can throw them the damn ball first.
  21. Nwigwe is the #2 receiver, hands down.
  22. Delaware.... isn't that a city in Maryland?
  23. 220, 221.... whatever it takes
  24. Hell yeah it is. Queue the Beavis and Butthead laugh.
