    To me, that's the shocking part..... When Arkansas hired him the rumor was it was just so they could get Mitch Mustain at QB. Not that it worked out. Sure worked out for Malzahn. He has coached some killer offenses.

    I hate to see him go. I was really looking forward to another year with him on the field, whether at QB or not. He left it all out there at substantial physical cost. We would be a better team with him on the roster.

    I think McCarney would be the biggest name in the SBC behind Schnelly. Looks like he was at USF in 2007. I would like to see him retain Canales.

    One benefit to hiring Canales is continuity. Whatever momentum/foothold he currently has in the program would carry over into next season. Everything would start over with an outside hire in place and we would probably be 2 years away from any progress. Now, continuation of "bad" is not what we want..........

    When USF's program got off the ground, there were only 3 big-time football schools in the state. The state of Florida had a surplus of talent that USF was able to exploit. The talent pool in Texas gets divided among ten D-1 Texas teams, plus OU, OSU, LSU, etc.

    Hmm, they might want to fix that, at least if it's on some kind of official participation report. Wouldn't want to screw up his chances for a medical redshirt with a silly mistake like that.

    He has to walk a fine line - he's paid by the school to be the radio announcer, but if he defends NT too much the other guys on the Ticket will dogpile him. Especially his sorry ass OU bandwagonning partner, Junior.

    If we'd beaten Rice, it wouldn't be. Just think of how different our entire program outlook would be if, for example, Rice would have missed one of those 50-yard field goals.
