  1. -Jim Leavitt is intensely loyal. While he was a head coach at USF, he was reportedly courted by Alabama, Miami, and Kansas State. Each time he decided to stick with USF. -Leavitt is a defensive minded coach. The last four head coaches hired at UNT have all been offensive minded and all failed to produce wins. Dennis Parker, Matt Simon, Darrell Dickey and finally Todd Dodge. Defense wins championships. Hiring Leavitt will instantly make the UNT defense better. -Leavitt is an outstanding recruiter. He routinely sent players to the NFL and his defensive line was incredibly talented which is the reason USF beat teams such as #5 West Virginia among others. In December of 2008, USF had 15 former players in the NFL.
  2. TCU has sold out three home games this season but don't let the facts get in the way.
  3. The so called "directive" from RV that Dodge had to win seven games this season has turned this whole situation into a disaster. If he meant it, dodge should be removed now. Otherwise he should have said nothing until the end of the season.
  4. There goes our chances for State.
  5. The drop from the Rice game to the UL game last night was almost 6,000 fans. Just estimating $10 in tickets or concessions lost per person, which is conservative, is almost $60,000 lost last night. Attendance will continue to go down the rest of the season and UNT will lose their shirt on the Kansas State game contract guarantee because no one will be there because of another hapless season. doing nothing about Dodge is costing this program serious money and it has gone on to long.
  6. Ummm....RV is the person that brought Dodge back. Many of us were tired of seeing this three years ago. If he is tired of it he has no one to blame but himself.
  7. Riley did throw an interception last night, but he isn't what is wrong with this team.
  8. What does it matter? UNT scored a touchdown on that final drive.
  9. The quality of the Sun Belt is amazingly terrible.
  10. I think Hedlund has taken the program just about as far as he can. Might be time for some new blood.
  11. UNT had 512 total yards in the 2009 season opener and 301 yards in the home opener in the rain in 2009. They had 470 total yards in the 4th game of the season against MTSU in the Sun Belt opener. What is your point?
  12. You might want to fire up a calculator....this team hasn't lost 10 starters to injuries.
  13. When will RV accept any of the blame for bringing this mess back for another season?
  14. Jim Leavitt
  15. Dodge had four carries for seven yards tonight.
  16. This UNT team has been and remains a disaster. The special teams are just incredibly terrible. Another kick off out of bounds. They received seven kickoffs tonight and didn't advance one past the 25 yard line. They can't field a punt which causes even worse field position. Another blocked field goal and punt. Dodge came in four or five times tonight, kept the ball and managed to kill three drives. This team still cannot pressure the passer and can't stop drives when they need to. At least Cook finally saw the bench and Shorter got playing time at safety. Another wasted season because RV didn't do what everyone knew he should have done last season. If this team wins four games this year it will be a miracle.
  17. does anyone know who DaWaylon Cook beat out to be starting? We need major help at that position.
  18. This team has some serious issues at the safety position.
  19. This team needs help at a lot of positions because of several previous signings that all end up with a player walking away from the program.
  20. Counting Wood, how many UNT signees from the 2010 class will not be reporting to fall camp?
  21. And when has the Belt ever had two 12 seeds? The WAC also had over 20 games televised on the ESPN network last season.
  22. The WAC is a much better basketball league
  23. Will there be tailgaiting?
