  1. SMU: The boosters to say, “Ah screw it,” and go back to what made the program great in the 1980s. I laughed out loud at that one!
  2. Be sure and look for me on TV. In honor of TY Sports I'll be there dressed as "NT Douche". Shouldn't be hard to spot me, I'll be the only person in the stands!
  3. Give it a rest
  4. I was at Navarro back in the late 80's. They had a pipeline with Miami and Oklahoma sending their "guys" there if they didn't qualify. It was a football factory. I don't recall seeing too many of them in class, but they were sure fun to watch on the field
  5. If this is really what it was all about then good luck to the kid. We'll be fine with the others we are bringing in. Just found this online at the DRC...................... Tomlin: UNT not the best fit Southlake Carroll linebacker Derek Tomlin began having second thoughts about his decision to play for UNT earlier this season when he was forced to sit out with an injury. Those doubts led to a player ranked No. 81 in The Dallas Morning News Area Top 100 list to de-commit from UNT this week. “When I got injured that put things into perspective,” Tomlin said. “Education is important. I wanted to think about if I was injured, would I still want to go to school at North Texas? I decided that I didn’t.” Tomlin said that he does not know where he might end up playing college football, but that Air Force and Vanderbilt were recruiting him before he committed to UNT. Tomlin said that he might call Vanderbilt’s coaches. Tomlin said he doubted that he would change his mind now that he has decided not to play for the Mean Green, which struggled last season under first-year head coach Todd Dodge. UNT finished 2-10 under the former Southlake Carroll coach. Tomlin played for Dodge and for several of his assistants at Carroll who are now at UNT. “The way they finished had nothing to do with my decision,” Tomlin said. “They will turn it around. I know what they can and will do.” Tomlin is the second player to de-commit from UNT this month. Los Fresnos guard Eloy Atkinson changed his commitment from UNT to UTEP so that he could play with a former high school teammate who was a member of the Miners’ last recruiting class.
  6. Thought this was a Quoner/Quinn thread
  7. As bad as it is going to be, the NO Bowl still might have more folks than the Hawaii Bowl!
  8. Sergeant York? Isn't that a movie title?
  9. 2:41 is extremely impressive given the weather....or perfect weather for that matter. He could have run the course twice in the time it took me to complete it. I finished but barely. Maybe next year we can organize a GMG relay team!
  10. I think you are correct. I'm also curious why the DMN lists the total payout at $325K.
  11. I'm actually going to be there. I've finally found a perk to having relatives in Louisiana that I have to spend time with at Christmas!
  12. I have a vested interest in Tech so I stuck with that game as long as I could. It pretty much turned into "gawking at a train wreck" pretty quickly. I've never seen anything like it. 12 points at halftime is just mind boggling
  13. If Saban went back to LSU we might see the reforming of militias in Alabama and Louisiana and a REAL battle take place.
  14. We tried but Mandy held us down.
  15. SMU without the education maybe. Also, the part about not allowing outside input and preferring to keep everything "in house" wouldn't surprise you if you checked out their family tree.......yes I mean that singularly.
  16. I'll be there. If you haven't been try to make it to this one. Let's show Coach Dodge and any of the players that show up how much we appreciate their hard work this year. Things are moving in the right direction with this program!
  17. I'm in and bringing anyone that can sneak away from their wives too
  18. without the students on campus I'm guessing 12K but like SUMG said, it's been a great year considering the record.
  19. another small bit of good news is we are 2nd in the conference for attendance. We are averaging just over 20K even being 1-8.
  20. Oh you get the point sheesh. Have a flat tire this morning?
  21. Hopefully coverage of the Strickland middle school track tournament won't push coverage of the Navy/NT game back to page 7 this weekend.
  22. Thats a great point. I would be curious as to how the DRC would answer to that.
  23. Is there definitely a show tonight?
  24. Why not a show of support at the next coaches radio show? Lets make it standing room only in there!
