  1. I find it embarrassing that a group that only gets 10-15 minutes of practice time for one week is able to outperform a group that gets regular reps all season long. If that doesn't speak volumes about how lacking our offensive coaching staff is I don't know what does.
  2. "Truman Spencer back to punt" only because I hear it so often.
  3. I can't argue against that logic. I changed my mind.
  4. anyone received the season tickets yet?
  5. I wish I shared your optimism and while I hope for the best I don't see it happening. They might have one of the worst defenses in the nation but they haven't played the worst offensive line in the country yet. Also, I completely expect them to load against the run after getting throttled last week and we all know what kind of adjustments our coaches will make..........none. Maybe if we all yell at RF that he is being outcoached BEFORE the game it will fire him up and we get the SMU performance.
  6. According to my wife it's best if I never approach this subject again.
  7. oh I don't know, having an average of 4 wins per year over your career isn't all bad is it?
  8. Hey he sits in Section E on row 20 or so. If the yellow jackets give you trouble about getting into the section I'll bring you a ticket. I've said plenty to him this year, he just keeps munching away on his peanuts looking oblivious.
  9. North Texas hadn't beaten a single Division I-A team outside the Sun Belt in two years before Tuesday night's game against Cincinnati. And in the inaugural New Orleans Bowl last year, the Mean Green got pounded 45-20 by Colorado State. That right there speaks louder than anything else. In the 3 years since they've beaten....maybe 3?
  10. no traffic to or from the stadium on game days plenty of room to spread out and get that much needed Sat afternoon nap in at the stadium No risk of the kettle corn folks selling out early All Ramon, all the time kick starting my goal of curbing frivelous spending habits
  11. I think this guy is so interested in going to the next level such as another team that he could care less about NT. Time for him to go NOW and let him have his dream... TODAY 10/25/06 let him go... I would LOVE to see his "next level". I can't imagine anyone would want him after his time here. I was at the McMath 8th grade game last night and their coaches called a better game than he does.
  12. mine haven't shown up either and I'm about 8 miles from campus. They'll probably get to me Nov 6th with the way our postal service is.
  13. Something is going on...how much we already have I don't know. I do know that I got a call from the advancement office asking me to have lunch with some of the fundraisers up there to discuss the funds needed for a new stadium. Of course I laughed and told them they must have added too many zeros to the report showing my contribution but once a plan got rolling I'd be glad to donate. I'm sure others on this board have received the same call.
  14. wow, and all this with our offensive coordinator putting in 70 hours a week!! But then again what are you going to do right?
  15. Its true La Tech is down this year, but given their schedule it's pretty much expected they would have the record they have. We'll get a better read on them after this week when they play Idaho. I'm going to have to see a LOT more from NT before I think this game will be close. With my wife being a Tech grad it will sure make for a long week if we get blown out again. I got lucky last year in that we had just had a baby girl the week before the game so she didn't pay much attention to the score!
  16. Yeah... I must have overdosed on 4 of the best seasons in North Texas history, that took me personally from not giving a sh*t about my university to bleeding green for life. Looking big picture here, NT football is as big as it has ever been. I was at a game in 2000 where I'd be shocked if there were a thousand people there. Now we are scoffing at the 15,000 that showed up to see a 1-4 team that got blown out the week before at home. That alone should tell you what Dickey has done for the program. You don't have to agree with me. And I don't have to agree with you. ←
  17. you know you are absolutely right. Lets just cancel the rest of this season because we can't expect the coaches to come up with something that works. Heck the same MTSU team that absolutely sucked the last couple of years all of the suddent can play with intensity and some success against Lousiville (yeah I know it got out of hand late) but lets not expect our coaches to have our guys ready. U-La-La beats Houston in Houston but we can't compete with the juggernaut that is Akron. I'm glad you posted this, completely changes my thinking of where we are. Get out the white flags boys, we surrender!!! And if you think letting Dickey go would be nothing more than a political decision I think you have overdosed on the Dickey kool-aid
  18. I'm leaving the stadium Sat night, the fireworks are going off, players still on the field and who do I run into in the parking lot? Ramon Flanigan. Literally no more than 10 minutes after the game is over he's in the lot getting in his car and getting out of there. Is this normal or just another sign that he's given up and just putting in the token effort? I freely admit I have no idea what is "normal" after a game for a coaching staff so maybe some of you former players etc on this board can help me out here.
  19. Well if this doesn't just get you excited about getting to Fouts this weekend nothing will.
  20. Don't rule it out yet. I saw him Sat night and hoped he had done it kicking RF arse at halftime but alas I guess I was wrong again.
  21. Its there but you have to look for it. My wife found both NT and LaTech stuff last weekend. Now it LOOKS like stuff you'd get in Canton, but it was there.
  22. double post
  23. yeah they like to get all thuggy together. guess I was picturing the evil spawn of Bobby Ray/Lee Jackson. I meant of course Bobby Ray in my ramblefest above.
  24. Dickey is in too close (cloose) to Bobby Jackson and of course the furniture king of Houston. He's not going anywhere and as long as he's still here Ramon will be here as well. Dickey is too stubborn to admit he made a mistake with the OC so we'll all be suffering for another 3 or 4 years. The upside to this of course is there will be PLENTY of good seats available for home games in the fall.
