  1. JimBob, Don't you have more than one way to say this. I've read the thread about UL-Lafayette Hires New Head Coach and 2010 Rivals.com All-Sun Belt Team and you have basically the same post.
  2. Don't forget Derrick Teegarden, he was reqruited as an athlete, and worked at both WR and QB. He was the 2009 2-5A Offensive Player of the Year … Completed 155-of-224 passes for 1,911 yards, 18 TD’s and four interceptions in 2009 … Also rushed for 833 yards on 109 carries and nine TD’s … In 2008 was named first-team all-district and all-state honorable mention after completing 151-of-233 passes for 2,224 yards, 24 TD’s and 10 interceptions … Also rushed for 743 yards on 114 carries and 10 TD’s his junior season … Selected second-team all-district his sophomore season while throwing nine touchdowns and running for four more. Also NT has John Dodson at QB a walk-on from Bishop Lynch, 6-0, 195

  4. I may be wrong, and I probably am. But I think this is the team that Steve Williams (aka Stone Cold Steve Austin) played on. Is it FFR?
  5. If he was an alcoholic at OU, he'd have the redshirt wrapped up. But an injury that he couldn't avoid by staying out of the bars and playing at NT makes it sketchy at best!!
  6. I'm out on this hire. NO DIET COKE, means NO DIET COKE BOY!!!
  7. Yep, Greatest catch I've ever seen, at any level by any team.
  8. Don't forget about James Mitchell in his only start in 2004. story stats
  9. How dare you doubt the GREATEST AD that NT has ever had. He built the athletic center. He allowed tailgating. He made a great hire in Jonny Jones. He hired Shanice Stephens, He hired Todd Dodge. He started Softball. And most importantly he is building the unnamed stadium on the other side of I35.
  10. I do not know if McCarney is the correct choice or not, but his feet will be held to the fire from day 1. RV had better hope this guy ends up with a bowl eligible team next year, or he needs to be looking for a job. If McCarney does not win, and win big, he will be what the RV administration is known for.

  12. For the sake of the greatness that is Mike Canales, it's GIRL'S Basketball. I realize this is a sexist comment, but it's not WOMEN'S Basketball until you have a coach who can coach her way out of a paper bag. UNT hasn't had a WOMEN'S Basketball team since Judy Nelson took the team to the NCAA Tournament.
  13. How good could this guy be, he's only a 1-AA coach. He's been there 11 years with only a 62 percent winning percentage. I mean come on he's only won 1 NCAA championship, hell a decent coach would win the title every year. In the past six seasons NT has won four more conference games (15-11) than this guy did, tell me he's the guy we need. [by the way almost half (7 of the15 conference wins) came in 2004.] He's a position coach at best. Anybody can coach LBs, DBs and special teams for these run-of-the-mill teams. 1978-79: Part-time assistant, Kansas State (RB). 1980-81: Assistant, West Texas State (DB, recruiting coordinator). 1982-85: Assistant, Texas-El Paso (DB). 1986: Assistant, Houston (OLB, special teams). 1987: Assistant, Texas Christian (DB). 1988-89: Assistant, Southwest Texas State (defensive coordinator, assistant head coach). 1990-95: Assistant, Marshall (defensive coordinator, assistant head coach). 1996-98: Assistant, Georgia (LB, 1996-97; DB, 1998). Georgia won two bowl games (Outback, Peach) during his tenure, and he coached first-round NFL draftee Champ Bailey. Anyone can have success at Marshall. It led the Southern Conference in total defense four times (1990, 1993-95), scoring defense three times (1990, 1993-94), passing defense twice (1990, 1994) and rushing defense twice (1992, 1995). I mean come on JMU has won only 5 games this year and they lost to two of the three top 20 opponents [New Hampshire (6), Richmond (20)] by a total of 17 points (28-14, 13-10 in OT). That's only one more than NT, if it beats ULM. The Dukes (James Madison's nickname) managed to squeak by then No. 1 ranked William and Mary (the other top 20 team on the schedule) by only six (30-24). This lousy coach has only outscored his opponents by 63 points. NT needs a higher powered offense. Surely, the Mean Green deserve a real football coach, not some FBS National Championship coach ,who has five Texas Universities on his resume and doesn't have clue about recruiting for Texas football. This entry is total sarcasm, this Mickey Matthews should get an interview and possibly be the next NT head coach!!!
  14. Ready to kick some Red Raider Ass!!!

  15. He's QUITTING football (the SPORT, not just the Longhorns). In other words he's retiring because he wants to be able to have a regular life and not having to deal with post concussion syndrome for the rest of his life. Tre was a great HS player, a decent player at tU, but he is going to remain under scholarship and should get his degree on tU's dime and tying up a scholarship that would go to another 4 star recruit to sit on the bench. I hope Tre earns his degree and has a great career and makes lots of money so he can afford to keep his drug running dad out of jail. Nate's lost so much weight, he'd be Quoner's bitch in the joint.
  16. It accentuated TCU in general and TCU football in particular. So yes it accentuated BOOBs, but really good Boobs!!
  17. Not sure what budget pays for the windmills. Why do we care. Denia residents will never be happy as long as NT is open.
  18. Every hire is a risky hire, Hind sight is 20/20. Look at Nebraska, a storied program, which had two or three bad hires. Hell take a look at Notre Dame, perhaps the top college job in America. They paid BIG MONEY to Ty Willingham and Charlie Weis and still lost. The Brian Kelly hire is still up in the air. Not sure if it's a good hire or not! My point is the Mean Green Nation just has to wait and see if Rick V chooses someone that can turn this thing around. I'm not sure if it's Leavitt, Fran, Leach, Stoops, Canales or Joe Paterno (I don't think he'd come, but at least extend an offer) is the Person to lead the Mean Green out of the cellar in the SBC. But NONE of the are guaranteed success. I just hope for RV's job security, he makes a good choice! Because if he makes the wrong choice, he will be out the door before the next football coach.
  19. Harry thanks for getting Coach Canales to speak with you and Evan. And thanks for getting JJ on tonight.
  20. 400-500k is not "BIG" bucks in the world of big-time College football coaching. It barely registers as playing. I don't know who NT is going to hire, but I agree I don't care if they hire FFRick and he names SilverEagle his Asst. Head Coach, as long as they win!!
