I like the thinking outside the box on Jonathan Ieans but I don't believe he has the aggressiveness to play safety. He has the size, but I haven't seen the heart as of yet. I believe the Brandon Jackson would be a better fit as a safety. He showed last year that he has NO fear and that is what is needed at safety.

It normally takes a pretty good athlete to play tight end in High School. Even if his team runs the wishbone and the TE is just a glorified tackle. He is normally one on the better blockers on the team and has pretty good speed. It is the speed that allows the switch to a number of positions, like defensive end oe fullback. If he does not have great speed, he has the frame to put on wait and become an offensive lineman. A good HS tight end is one of the most valuable recruits in college because of the above mentioned things. That is why DD is so fond of having so many TE's on the team.

Guys our last two starting QB's had never taken a College Snap. Scott Hall started as a true freshman and Andrew Smith was a redshirt freshman. If I rember correctly they both did OK when they lined up under center. Wednesday can't get here soon enough.

Be careful "Tagging" the campus. Back in '91 the team played Northeast Louisiana (UL-Monroe) in the last game of the season. If the team won they would make the I-AA playoffs. Some friends & I chalked the campus, with "WE WIN, WE'RE IN" and the campus cops busted us. We didn't get in too much trouble, because it was just chalk. But it would be smart to clear it with the campus cops before it's done.

Who is this clown? He didn't even mention "The Mighty" Quinn. Or our entire linebacking corps returning. He mentioned Branch, but not Covington. What's up with that?

It was actually a pretty good game. Atlanta 27, Indy 21 Indy came back and made it exciting. Indy hit a big play with about 2 min. left in the game. The Colts have a receiver, No. 11, that reminds me of Johnny Quinn. He caught everything, including the last TD. Over all it was a pretty good game. I'm so glad Football is back. Now I can't wait for WEdnesday, when North Texas Football starts.

The header on this post should read More than a dozen Belt players-Top 25 for position. Sorry it's the Journalist in me. But on to the real reason for this post. 13 players in the top 25 of their position isn't bad for "THE WORST CONFERENCE IN COLLEGE FOOTBALL."

Adler, I like your thinking. Here's an idea, sponsor a women's Hockey team to offset the scholorships for baseball. I think NCAA women's hockey would open up NT to more diverse student population.
