  2. As long as the recruit has not signed a letter of intent, then it's not TO LATE. Contact the Athletic Department and tell them about this kid.

  4. Rick, As always your PASSION and DEDICATION to the Mean Green astounds me. I wish I had the enthusiasm and drive that you do for the UNIVERSITY. Thank you for representing North Texas in everything you do.
  5. ZEKE It wasn't me that passed the info to me.

  7. That would require some work by Mr. Capper, and that ain't going to happen.
  8. LMAO!!!
  9. Agreed, unless it's the MUTS!
  10. Here is Tony's Journal entry about the time he spent with Rick! DECEMBER 15 Where do I begin........................How about that I'm in Austin, Texas. In the last week I've been in Philadelphia to Charlotte, NC to Florence, Alabama to Memphis, TN to Ft. Worth, Texas to Austin. A lot of road has been eaten up by Hidalgo and me (Hidalgo is my Jeep Cherokee...I'm hoping Jeep will sponsor the project!).....In Memphis I stayed with a legendary fan and contraversial booster Roy Adams of Memphis, Tennessee. I must say I've yet to meet a fan that has the Photo collection that Mr. Adams has...a fascinating man and a man that loves College Football...I thank Mr. Adams for sharing his story with me and his Hospitality...we had some great talks over Egg Nog and Roy has a dog that weigh's 154 pounds...a big bruiser with a right hook that would make Joe Frazier proud. I love boxing too bad it sucks must of the time...I miss Sugar Ray Leonard. I stayed at Firestation 14 in Ft. Worth, Texas with a great fan named Ricky McKinney...what an experience to stay inside a Firestation...the firemen work 24 hour shift's and they're constantly on call and they do everything really fast and efficient...Rick who lives and breathes North Texas Football! BBQ Pork Rib's with Mesquite and Pecan wood and right before we where to eat...they got a call for a fire and half the Station had to leave because they needed that certain group of the team to leave and do there job...I stayed and ate the best Ribs that I've had on my entire trip...they where savory and they melted of the bone and they where huge. I would like to thank the Firestation for they're team atmosphere and for making me feel a part of the team and Rick McKinney your a great guy and a great Fan...I look forward to watching the State Championship between Carroll South Lake (The Number #1 team in the country) vs. Katy....the last team to beat Carroll. Yesterday, I went to the offices of Dave Campbell's Texas Football and Adam and Jake gave me the lowdown on Texas Football...great guy's and very insightful on passion and love that Texas has for they're Football....and lastly because I've got to go and film on Campus (Texas) and then eat at a place called Opie's (Brisket)...I want to thank Jay at the Texas Sports Hall of Fame in Waco....what a great Museum if you get chance I recommend everyone that is a sports fan to go and check out the great exhibits they have ....The exhibit on High School Football is very impressive and gives you a look at the passion and history that Texas has with High School Football....I'm looking forward to seeing this game at Texas Stadium there expected 40,000 fans for a High School game...Wow!
  11. A-Rod to sit out World Baseball Classic American League MVP Alex Rodriguez has decided to sit out the World Baseball Classic, according to a report in The New York Post. Rodriguez told the newspaper Thursday he elected not to play in the March international event because he did not want to dishonor his native United States or the Dominican Repbublic, where his parents are from. A-Rod was born in New York and raised in Miami. But because of his parents' Dominican ties, he was eligible to play for either country. Earlier this week he said he was leaning towards playing for the Dominican Republic. "After thoughtful deliberations with my family, I am announcing my decision to withdraw from the World Baseball Classic," A-Rod told The Post from Miami. "When faced with the decision to choose between my country, the United States of America, and my Dominican heritage, I decided I will not dishonor either." Rodriguez, according to The Post, has been saying since July what a tough decision it would be. And it seems obvious that choice has not become too much easier. "I am proud to be an American citizen and to have a Dominican legacy. My commitment to baseball is secondary to honoring my patriotic duties to my country and my ancestors," A-Rod said. "Sports participation should only include the admiration and respect an athlete has for a nation and family. I intend to play baseball only when I am dedicated to both." What a cop out. He is a great player, but is such a FRAUD as a human being!!!
  12. Turner Gill's first coaching oportunity was at NT. He was a graduate assistant in '89 or '90 under Corky Nelson. He went to Nebraska next for a long stint. I met him once, his wife or girlfriend (I don't remember) was hot and he was a nice guy. I hope he can get Buffalo out of the Bottom 10.
  13. The game is close enough to drive to and you are a NT Football Fan!
  14. Isn't this what cost Rush Limbaugh his job on ESPN a couple of years ago?
  15. This the best thing in this column, but the acronym should be AFNFR. AFNFR stands for Arrogant for No F'N Reason.
  16. Imagine that under the current administration!
  17. Rick, Have you contacted any Media, DRC, Channel 4, 5, 8, 11, 21. Or any radio stations. This would be a good piece on NTTV, if they still have it.
  18. If we had been in 3A this past season, our corner backs would have actually been able to make some play that they could get up and TALK to the other team about.
  19. It will probably be the NE Louisiana game or the first round loss to North Carolina. They need to have video tape on the game and I don't think they would have video from any of the others.
  20. You're right. Tx State win ZERO playoff games and North Texas State won ZERO games the entire 2005 season. Texas State University-San Marcos won 2 1-AA playoff games, while the University of North Texas went 2-9 in Division 1-A football.
  21. That's great Rick. Unfortunately it comes this season.
  22. This is interesting!
