Is SMU a make/break game for NT program and Dickey
GreenBat replied to NT80's topic in Mean Green Football
It's evident that you don't know much about anything except doing Laundry (the only thing a degree from smu is worth). You say the program is the cleanest in the nation. That Janitorial Services Masters program is really paying dividends. -
Only You would think of that JayDub. This has got to go onto the SMUt board!

Why is Goodall involved with anything NT related. A Deaf, Dumb & Blind SMU fan knows more about NT football than Goodall. Vito does a good job, but Goodall's knowledge on NT is a joke.

Some SMU info from the DMN college Blog ___________________________________________________________________ SMU practice Earlier in the day, SMU coach Phil Bennett said the coaches had DeMyron Martin thinking too much when he approaches the line of scrimmage. Martin, who rushed for 30 yards in the loss to Texas Tech, had no comment when told about Bennett's comments. Martin, the Mustangs' leading rusher last season, said he's a little angry with the lack of production in the running game. SMU rushed for 118 yards against Tech, with starting quarterback Justin Willis leading the team with 39 yards rushing. Expect SMU to pass a little more this week against Texas Tech. One of the things you should see is some quick slants from the receivers that allow them to go one-on-one against defenders. Posted by Calvin Watkins at 6:46 PM (E-mail this entry) | Comments (0) More SMU practice stuff After some good pork chops and green beans at the SMU luncheon, it was off to practice. Here are some notes: • DE Justin Rogers picked off a short pass from QB Justin Willis. • Coach Phil Bennett was yelling at rover Tony Hawkins to play the run, instead of the pass, during a full scrimmage against the scout team. • There were a few drops from the receivers, which prompted receivers coach Larry Edmondson to tell the wideouts to do some pushups. • Bennett talked to the team at length after practice about picking up the intensity and forgetting about what happened against Texas Tech. It was a loud talk. • As usual, the Chase brothers, wide receiver Bobby and tight end Vincent stayed after practice to work on their timing and catching ability. • At least 16 players had to do a conditioning drill, called up-downs, for a disciplinary matter. • Bennett said it was a good practice. FRom the comment section on the DMN College Blog ________________________________________________________________ So let me make sure I understand correctly: ND comes from behind 10-0 and wins on the road to a quality D1 team but slips to #3 while UT slaughters a hapless high school team in Austin and moves up to #2? The media driven AP is a fraudulent joke and proves they'll desperately do anything to set up a 1 vs 2 showdown when it comes to setting up the latest trendy media darling team they've chosen. UT benefits from playing in a weak conference (When you beat your conf opponents by 30+ pts per game and the North Champ by 67 in the conf title game, you play in a weak conf period) which allows them to have fresh legs at the end of the season by resting thier starters the 2nd half of every game. Looks like the same thing again this yr- one decent but overrated Big 10 team on the schedule along w/ Sam Houston St and the sorry Big 12= UT being in the title game again. The Mustang Express is rolling once again. We are travelling by bus to see the Mustangs take on UNT. We will depart from Moody Coliseum on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. and arrive at the Radison Hotel Denton at 3:30 p.m. for an Italian Buffet Dinner. A cash bar will also be available. Then we will load up, head to the stadium and return home after the game. The price is $65 and this includes bus ride, meal, game ticket, beverages on the bus and great camaraderie! If interested, contact Kristi Kaiser at 214-768-1319 or kkaiser@smu.edu

I just watched Episode #1 of the Mean Green Insider. All I can say is WOW. Great job by Hank Dickenson as the host. It was a tlk show with guest DD, the George Dunham and Craig Way. It ended with Coach Mike Barela. I was more than impressed and if this is the type of production were going to get out of the coaches show, I'll be blown away. Congrats Athletic Department. The Mean Green Insider is AWESOME. Probably works best with a cable internet connection.

No border crossings for Red Raiders I've covered a Sun Bowl where they take the football teams across the border into Juarez for a mock bullfight and Mexican dinner. So at today's news conference, I asked Texas Tech coach Mike Leach if he planned to take his team over the border before the Red Raiders play at UTEP on Saturday. “I don’t think so," Leach said. "None of that spring break movie stuff. No bullfights, no gambling, no donkeys, no vanilla extract, no piñatas, none of that stuff. Straight football. Yup. No switchblades.” Whew. Glad he remembered the switchblades. WHAT, No Donkey show?

When is the next podcast scheduled for? I love those things!

He works for FOX (BCS servicer) Sports. Did you watch the broadcast, did it seem to lean a LITTLE heavy to the tU side?? The answer is YES!

THEY WERE TEXAS ANNOUNCERS. THEY DON"T CARE WHO THE OPPONENT IS, AS LONG AS THEY GET THE TEXAS PART CORRECT.

He is from North Mesquite High School. I think this the first time he's been in trouble.

You're correct it was just Flagpoles. But how are you going to wave a flag without a flagpole?

Patrick Cobbs, #40, makes Steelers final roster
GreenBat replied to NT80's topic in Mean Green Football
Sorry to see OMAR JACOBS didn't make the active roster. He was the $hit at Bowling Green the last couple of years. -
Last Year Flags WERE NOT allowed by the ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT. But there is nothing on the ticket forbidding it this year. Unless it's a Video Camera in disguise.

I didn't see a new DIET COKE BOY. Dickey's trying to get in better shape. It may be fruit juice boy now.

She is HOT, but I see girls withoit makeup around campus that put her to shame. How did they select the girls?

It's not RV's job. He has a Sports Information Director, Eric Capper, who does that. While I don't always agree with how Eric does his job, he does make sure that people know that our name is UNIVERSITY OF NORTH TEXAS, not Northern Texas or North Texas State or even North Texas University. People have gotten NT's name wrong for as long as I've been alive. Get over it and be happy that the team is getting ang mention at all.
-
Maybe SilverEagle should stand in the endzone NT is heading to. Then Ramon will make sure to get somebody there to attack him.
-
If he can move the ball better than Wlison-Phillips. Hell Yes, I want Meager to start. I don't care if Scottie or Johnny McDowell start at QB, as long as they move the F'n chains and put points on the board.
