  1. The girl in the gomeangreen.com shirt doesn't hold a candle to his lovely wife, Darla. She's gorgeous, even After giving him two good-looking kids.
  2. He's logged off, so he can rest now. Come on into the chat JayDub.
  3. Smitty, How about the Eagle Head, where the beaks touch up front.
  4. http://www.maxpreps.com/FanPages/Content/A...9a-edbb5b81066d Posted on: (Tuesday, December 26, 2006) National Player of the Year: Riley Dodge Southlake Carroll quarterback earns MaxPreps National Player of the Year honors after racking up over 5,300 passing and rushing yards with 67 touchdowns. By Jason Hickman MaxPreps.com Riley Dodge entered the 2006 football season at Southlake Carroll High outside of Dallas without a start under his belt, and following in the footsteps of four-straight Dragon quarterbacks who earned Texas 5A Offensive Player of the Year honors. Talk about big shoes to fill. But Dodge, just a junior, surpassed the expectations bestowed upon him not just because he was the next in line at Southlake Carroll, but also because he is the son of arguably America’s most famous high school football coach. Make that, former, high school football coach. Dodge led the Dragons to their third-straight 5A title, and extended the dynasty’s win streak to 48 games Saturday with a come-from-behind, 43-29 victory over Austin Westlake, giving his father – Southlake Carroll head coach Todd Dodge – a fitting sendoff. Todd Dodge accepted the head coaching position at the University of North Texas Dec. 12 after compiling a 98-11 record at Southlake Carroll with four state titles. Riley, meanwhile, was equally phenomenal in his first campaign as the Dragons’ signal caller. The younger Dodge threw for 4,184 yards and 54 touchdowns (against just 14 interceptions), and ran for another 1,119 yards and 13 touchdowns. For those counting at home, that’s 5,303 total yards and 67 touchdowns for the rookie starter. The Dragon offense cranked out 44 points per game with Dodge behind center. The 6-0, 180-pound junior watched the fourth quarter of most Dragon games this season from the bench, but came up big when his team needed him most. Riley threw and ran for 340 yards and five touchdowns in his varsity debut – a 49-13 win over Lake Highlands – and helped turn a highly-anticipated out-of-state showdown with Evangel Christian, La., into a laugher by throwing for 211 yards and three touchdowns…in the first half. Against Euless Trinity in late November – a game played in front of over 46,000 fans at Texas Stadium – Dodge threw for 331 yards and led a game-winning drive to keep Carroll’s streak alive and help them advance through the rugged 5A playoffs. And Saturday, with Southlake Carroll trailing by eight at halftime, Dodge responded with three second-half touchdown passes to spark a Dragon rally. He finished with 303 yards, cementing his status as the 2006 MaxPreps National Player of the Year. While Todd Dodge will move on to UNT in Denton, the 5A ranks in Texas won’t be so lucky. Riley will be back at Southlake Carroll for his senior season.
  5. Matt, That's awesome. Beware of boosters who have kids on the team. They can make your life HELL.
  6. Dodge's journey to UNT Todd Dodge has gone through a hectic few days since he was named the head football coach at North Texas. Dodge had barely had time to move into his office this week when he took a few minutes to talk about just what transpired from the time he first interviewed for UNT job to moving into his office. The full story is on the Denton Record-Chronicle Web site at www.dentonrc.com, so I won't rehash what he had to say, but it was interesting to hear Dodge talk about how impressed he was with the reception he has received at UNT. There is no question Dodge had the community behind him in Southlake after his remarkable run there, so for him to gush about the UNT community is telling. This isn't a coach who hasn't had a community behind him before. It will be interesting to see just how the athletic department is able to capitalize on what seems like a wave of positive emotion now that Dodge is on board.
  7. Wooden will be back today The UNT men received some good news on Friday when head coach Johnny Jones said that junior forward Keith Wooden will be back for a game today against Denver. Wooden was suspended a game for a violation of team rules and did not play against Belhaven earlier this week. UNT likely won't need Wooden to be at his best against a Denver team that is struggling, but a matchup with Arkansas-Little Rock and Rashad Jones-Jennings looms on Thursday. Jennings is averaging 12.1 points and 12.6 rebounds a game and always seems to play well against UNT. Last season he had 19 rebounds in a win over the Mean Green in the regular season and came back to score a game-high 17 points and pull down seven rebounds in a win over UNT in the conference tournament. UNT will depend on Wooden, who stands 6-9 and is in his first season with the Mean Green, to help change its fortunes against UALR. A solid game tonight against Denver would be a good way for Wooden to prepare for his showdown with Jennings. Be sure to check out www.dentonrc.com for a preview of today's game.
  8. UNT women's game postponed The North Texas women's basketball team had a bad day to say the least on Friday, one that led to its game against Western Kentucky on Saturday being postponed. UNT went to the DFW airport and ended up sitting around all day through weather delays and even a tornado warning. A makeup day for the game has yet to be scheduled. UNT will be back on the road on Thursday at Arkansas-Little Rock for the opening game of a trip through Arkansas that will conclude on Saturday with a game at Arkansas State.
  9. I did not attack elliot personally. And it is YOUR opinion that Meager can't play QB. It is my opinion that he CAN. Neither opinion matters. The only one that matters is Coach Dodge. I agree that Danny has had injury problems, but that comes from having the desire to make something happen.
  10. He plays with intensity and heart. That is what a football team needs a MLB to do. He can play on my Division 1-A defense anyday.
  11. Please Elliot, get me some game film! I have been a sportswriter for 20+ years and probanly have covered more football games for pay than you have attended. I've forgotten more college qbs names than you've probably seen play. Meager has the ability and talent to play at the DI level, he just needs a decent some coaching and a system that he can be successful in. If Dodge is going to move Meager to WR, I hope he utilizes him like SLC did No. 8. DEEP BALL after DEEP BALL.
  12. for DODGEBOWL. If NT's offense next year is 1/2 as exciting as these two teams. Next year is gonna be fun.
  13. Smitty, You are THE MAN. Your designs are awesome. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!!
  14. http://www.scorehere.com/products/view-sin...id=095855889412 Just peel off the O for Oregon and attach whatever logo you choose for NT.
  15. I prefer the wings version.
  16. From David McNabb's Dallasblog.com HS Report Texas gets another QB commit/Horns hammered as hypocrites Gilmer QB G.J. Kinne has switched his commitment to Texas from Baylor, where his dad is a first-year linebackers coach (Gary Joe Kinne). G.J. expressed interest in Texas early but didn't get an offer when John Brantley of Florida committed last summer. There was conroversy of just how many scholarship offers Kinne had when he committed to Baylor. Kinne (6-2, 200) is a dual-threat quarterback who transferred to Gilmer for his senior year after his dad left Canton to become a Baylor assistant. Gary Joe Kinne is a North Mesquite grad who was a linebacker at Baylor under Grant Teaff. Gary Joe Kinne coached the '05 season in Canton after receiving a nearly fatal gun shot wound from a disgruntled Canton parent now serving his sentence in prison. National reaction: Texas is being villified across the country a week after QB John Brantley decommitted from Texas to Florida and Texas fans howled about "recruiting ethics" and "keeping your word." Sample comment: Is that really what Texas fans are hoping will dig them out of the hypocrite pile...that Kinne called Texas coaches? Bwaaaahahahahahah!!! Okay then, why didn't the Texas coaches tell Mr. Kinne, sorry son, you've committed to another school. We don't do that at Texas. OR Why don't Texas fans get on Kinne's myspace account and SCREAM and YELL at him, calling him names and all sorts of profanity for switching? That's as apples to apples as you can get with Brantley. They both decommited from schools. Both are bad people, right? Both need to be taught a lesson right? Go get Kinne!!! Go, run, go show the same lack of class you did with Brantley. 17. Is Riley Dodge a college QB? Scout.com's Jamie Newberg just said on FSN's halftime show that he sees Carroll QB Riley Dodge playing another position in college. No doubt Dodge will be recruited as a receiver by many programs. But I wouldn't rule him out as a quarterback despite the fact that he doesn't have the prototypical QB size. He definitely has the smarts, accuracy and touch to do it. I could see Dodge playing QB for a program like Utah or Missouri where they've had success with athletic QBs in spread offenses. The wild card: Will his dad be one of the coaches recruiting him? Todd Dodge will seriously consider any Division I-A head coaching opportunities, especially if Carroll wins state again this season. I'm just speculating here, but it'd make a lot of sense for SMU to woo Dodge if new AD Steve Orsini decides to can Phil Bennett. That's a hire that would create tremendous buzz for the Ponies, and I guarantee Dodge could recruit offensive players and score a lot of points in C-USA. Riley Dodge might be able to start at QB for SMU right now. Posted by Tim MacMahon at 9:21 PM (E-mail this entry) | | Comments (1) Comments After watching Riley last night, i dont even think this should be a topic. Even someone who doesnt know much about football could figure this one out. The kid is a star. He Will be able to pick his college. The only thing i see wrong is his scrambling holding the ball with one hand way away from his body. A smart defense is gonna slap that out and could cost the dragons in a big game. Its the only flaw i see with his game. the kid is a phenomenal high school talent. Posted by: david blanchard | September 15, 2006 01:43 PM
  18. I agree with Med on all but Meager. I think Danny is the perfect QB for DodgeBall. I think the rest make since, especially Oubre.
  19. NTTV could probably buy a new camera if they sold the Texas game on DVD. I've got a copy but I bet there are a bunch of people who would buy it.
  20. It doesn't appear so. Here are the rosters. http://www.magnoliagridironclassic.com/rosters_2006.php
  21. At the introductory press conference. Rick V said Coach Dodge's start date would be Dec. 26.
  22. Mark Maclamore runs a sports complex in Rockwall. Mark Mclemore - 19 yrs major league infielder, Warren Newson - Texas Rangers, Homer Bush - New York Yankees, Jack Lazorko - California Angels/Milwaukee Brewers, Kevin “Scooter” Jordan - Texas Tech and Rowlett High Outfielder, Evan Williams, Darren Oliver - Texas Rangers/New York Mets are the staff. http://mcsportscomplex.org/index.htm
  23. There is a running back at Trinity Christian Cedar Hill by the name of Josh Hicks who was second in the entire Metroplex (all classes) to William Cole in rushing with 2,870 yard. He's (smaller version of Jamario) 5-8, 195. I've seen this kid, and he can play no matter the competition he played against. He ran all over some of the best private school defense's in the state. Dickey was recruiting him. K-State and TCU are still after him. Deion Sanders has worked with him (Deion's son was middle school qb at TCCH), so he might be a good DB as well. Tony Dabney is a wide receiver at Rockwall. He's 5-10, 180 had 750 receiving with 5 TD's in Rockwall's version of the spread. He runs aroun a 4.38 to 4.45. Got decent hands, but Dodge could teach him. Also could be a cover corner.
