  3. Why? Once Danny Meager leads us to a conference championship in 2007. everything will be fine. We've got Vizza, who will redshirt and then take over for Meager as a sophomore.
  4. That was uncalled for. One of them is an intelligent person that has some good ideas and the other is met Todd Dodge this week in Washington.
  5. A loss to SMU is erased by a win in a bowl game, other than the New Orleans bowl. Heck a win in the NOB erases a loss to SMU. A win over SMU and just a berth in the NOB means nothing and doesn't help the program at all. A win over SMU and a win in the NOB would help build our team. But I want NT to win in the post season.
  6. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070217/ap_on_...ppen_comeback_3 Scottie Pippen planning NBA comeback By GREG BEACHAM, AP Sports Writer LAS VEGAS - Scottie Pippen is tired of retirement. He wants to return to the NBA for a chance to win his seventh championship ring. With most of the league's stars and decision-makers gathering at the All-Star weekend festivities in Las Vegas, the 41-year-old Pippen announced he's hoping for a late-season return to a contending team — preferably in a warm-weather city — nearly 2 1/2 years after he left the league. "I know that I have the skills," Pippen said. "I think it's sort of been on my mind the last couple of months. It's just about me going out and polishing my skills." The forward hasn't played since his retirement on Oct. 5, 2004, following a 17-season career with Chicago, Houston and Portland. He won six titles in his famed role as Michael Jordan's wingman with the Bulls, and was part of two gold medal-winning U.S. Olympic teams. Pippen has been working out in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., during the winter, and he believes the time is right to add his experience and defensive prowess to a contending club, perhaps in Miami or San Antonio. "This is definitely a stage I can use to get the word out there," Pippen said. "I would only do this for a contender." Pippen once was one of the NBA's most feared defenders, and his offensive skills were an ideal complement to Jordan's abilities. He had most of his best seasons at Jordan's side, while his scoring averages and general satisfaction with the game dropped considerably after Jordan's second retirement in 1998. Pippen retired after returning to the Bulls to play just 23 games in the 2003-04 season. Chicago retired his No. 33 on Dec. 9, 2005. Pippen said he would be open to offers from any team, but also said he would contact a few unnamed teams in hopes of getting the best destination. The All-Stars gathered in Las Vegas mostly seemed warm to the idea of playing with Pippen — or even alongside him. "I know it's hard when guys leave the game," Washington's Gilbert Arenas said. "They're sitting there analyzing, and they're getting itchy. If he's ready, he's ready. Maybe I can get another autographed jersey from him. Miami's Dwyane Wade also liked the idea of a comeback with the Heat. "I'm already playing with (Gary) Payton and Shaq, two guys I used to play with on video games," Wade said. "To add Scottie Pippen to the mix, that would be crazy."
  7. I hope Dodge is on Argyle Liberty Christian OL Ben Habern, who is listed as well.

  9. Mosley, Thomas capture Smith Awards By Dave Rogers The Port Arthur News BEAUMONT – Kilgore College athletic director David Castles, the featured speaker at the 15th annual Willie Ray Smith Awards Banquet, spoke Thursday night about the inevitable need for successful people to face and overcome adversity. If ever a person practiced what Castles preached it has been Nederland’s Micah Mosley. He overcame one serious injury after another in high school to rush for more than 4,500 yards in his career, earn all-state honors and a Division I football scholarship at the University of North Texas. Thursday night at the Elegante Hotel, the Beaumont Founders Lions Club added the Willie Ray Smith Award for the best offensive player to Mosley’s honors. Cornerback Earl Thomas of West Orange-Stark, a University of Texas signee, won the Willie Ray Smith Award for the best defensive player as the awarding of the so-called Southeast Texas Heisman Trophies put a lid on the 2006 football season. Mosley, a 6-1, 200-pound tailback for the Bulldogs, made Nederland’s varsity as a ninth-grader, but he suffered a broken leg after two games. He missed games with a broken jaw as a junior and had various other ankle and leg problems that slowed him down. “God knows what his numbers would have been if he’d been completely healthy all the time,” Nederland coach Larry Neumann said. As it was, Mosley set a school record with 2,432 yards rushing as a senior and was named District 22-4A Offensive MVP and earned a spot on the Port Arthur News’ 35th annual Super Team. His 4,557 career rushing yards also established a school record. “I remember him from junior high at C.O. Wilson,” Neumann said. “You could see he had tremendous ability then. But his numbers astound me. I don’t think anybody expects someone to have the kind of numbers Micah had for his career or his senior year. “He overcame lots of adversity. I’m just really proud of him.” The son of James and Phyllis Mosley told a sold-out ballroom crowd that he was nervous as he gave a short acceptance speech. “I’ve talked to a lot of newspeople and I always kept my cool,” Mosley said later. “But I was a little jittery up there. When you look at the list of people that have won that thing, this is really something.” Mosley is the second Willie Ray Smith Award winner from Nederland, following Sean Yoder, who was offensive winner in 2001. Thomas, a 5-11, 185-pounder, was the second Mustang player to win in as many years, following Kenneth Beasley, who was offensive award winner for 2005. In all, WO-S has had five Willie Ray Smith winners, with the other three on defense: Charles Sias in 1998, Gayron Allen in 2000, and Jermaine Hope in 2001. “He (Beasley) kind of made fun of me,” said Thomas, the son of Earl and Debbie Thomas. “He told me I’ve got to take it (the award) home. “My heart dropped when I heard my name (called). I’m just grateful I got picked. It feels good to take it back home.” Thomas was the District 21-3A MVP and played on both sides of the ball for WO-S. He had 67 tackles, three interceptions, two kickoff returns for TDs and averaged 33.0 yards on kickoff returns and 15.3 yards on punt returns. “I knew the competition (for the award) was tough, but I felt like he was deserving,” WO-S coach Dan Hooks said. “He does so many things well. He’s multi-talented. “He also starts on the basketball team, plays baseball and run track. You don’t find kids like that every day.” Coaches at 25 area schools nominated a total of 47 players for the Willie Ray Smith Awards. Four offensive and five defensive finalists were selected and those top nine had a seat at the head table for Thursday’s banquet. Other offensive finalists included Beaumont Central quarterback Brandon Williams, East Chambers quarterback Tramain Thomas and Deweyville running back Justin Williams. Other defensive finalists included Port Arthur Memorial cornerback Barry Valcin, Central linebacker Andre August, East Chambers linebacker Paul Trammell and West Brook linebacker Jacody Coleman. Deweyville’s Williams and the East Chambers duo of Thomas and Trammell are juniors. All other finalists are seniors.

  11. Hola boracho hombre grande. Porque tu no sabe espanol? Don’t you think they should have made a bilingual model if they are going to distribute these things in NM?
  12. Damn Republicans can't even get "Todge's" record correct. It was 79-1.
  13. NT would have to sell beer for it to be worth it. $21 per unit. That's steep.
  14. It's not on locally and will not be on MASN 626 on Direct tv. Because it's on the ESPN Full Court Package. The game is also being shown as apart of the ESPN Plus network, and is available on the ESPN Full Court Package.
  15. It all comes back to a new stadium will y'all.
  16. Normally UT-Arlington has a decent program. Northwood, University of Dallas and UT-Dallas have decent teams at times. If you don't mind a drive, youve got the Baylor Bears, who are one of the best teams in the Big 12 most of the time.
  17. I was the reporter for The Daily in 1989 who had the assignment of covering that game. Watching those goal posts come down was a surreal experience. You can look to that game as the turning point of the K-State program. Since that game, K-State has had a winning record. That game was a defining moment for the program. Here's hoping a victory in Manhatten will be another defining moment for the NT program.
  18. Expect every marginal to exceptional QB and receiver in the state to come to the summer camp. Why would this year be any different than the last 5 or 6 years. Dodge's QB camp is always well attended. I would expect all of these players, who are considered top recruits to attend as well as many others.
