  1. Football: Ex-UNT kicker having a ball in AFL 11:55 PM CDT on Friday, June 29, 2007 By Brett Vito / Staff Writer Jason Ball was watching television a few years ago, when the drive that sparked his standout career as a kicker at Denton and North Texas started to boil again. With each kick that went wide, and each kickoff that came up short, Ball thought more and more that -- after three years away from the game -- there was nothing the NFL kickers he saw could do that he couldn't if he decided to pursue football professionally. "I was watching an NFL game on Sunday and saw some kickoffs that only went to the 15-yard line," Ball said. "I decided then that I wanted to try to kick again." More
  2. And whose to say Cantu will not follow Riley to NT?
  3. Texas commitment list, no Riley His page, no commitment shown
  4. However Tune outplayed Clark Harrell, the Ennis QB that is at Tulsa now, at the THSCA all-star game with only one week of practice in the spread offense. I'm not saying Tune or Meager are the answer, but I will give them a chance now that they have a coach and an offense that works. I've said Danny was the man for next season since December and apparently Todge, who knows a hell of a lot more about grooming a QB than I or any of the fans on this board. I'll wait to see who Todge puts out on the field.
  5. Quarter back spikes ball and it hits himself in the nuts and gets penalized
  6. This arguement is giving me tired head!!! There are those who want men's soccer and those who want baseball. The University needs $$$MONEY$$$ to add any sports. We as alumni, me included, must pry open our wallets if we EVER want NT to amount to anything in athletics. It does not good to argue about what sport to add. The school cannot afford to add either sport right now. NT needs to fund and build it's football stadium before it even thinks about funding another men's sport, because we would need to add another women's sport to stay up with Title 9. Please let this F'n thread die until NT opens it's new football stadium.
  7. Please tell that you used decals and that Conner didn't paint it. That would make me feel inadequate. Looks awesome!!!
  8. What about Scottie Ford? He caught everything that was within 10 feet of him.
  9. That was in 16 games and he plays in the slot, not the outside.
  10. And you don't like the Spurs? Parrish would have fit in with the defensive style that the Spurs play.
  11. Texas and A&M fans are not going to give NT any respect, even if they go 12-0 and play in the National Championship game. They would call it a fluke! A win over Oklahoma would do more for NT's rep, even if it finished with a 6-6 record than a 9-3 record with a SunBelt conference championship. The W over OU would be be National news for two or three days and would get mentioned every week on the OU TV broadcast. The 9-3 record would give us another berth in the New Orleans Bowl, but how much benifet did that do the last four times it happened?
  12. Agreed, I'd rather see a HS all-star Football game than a MLS soccer game. I'm sure I'm not alone.
  13. From DMN HS blog. Erin Grant joins UTA women's coaching staff It’s official. Former Mansfield and Texas Tech standout Erin Grant was hired to join the UT-Arlington women’s basketball staff as an assistant coach. Grant last week said she would accept the position but signed all paperwork on Monday. She will be reunited with Samantha Morrow, her high school coach. “We’re real excited about it. It’s a feather in our cap,” Morrow said. “She’s been a coach on the floor for so many years and has so much experience from a player’s standpoint. She brings a lot of credibility to our program.” Grant said she hopes to learn as much as possible from Morrow and said a career in coaching could be an option for her down the road. Grant just turned 23 last week. Grant, who currently is in Arlington, was with the WNBA’s Houston Comets at the beginning of the season but was cut in late May. There’s a chance the Comets could resign her at the end of the month. If that happens, she will live in Houston and balance playing for the Comets with recruiting in the Houston area. She said she will return to Arlington following the WNBA season. If she proves she can coach, might she be a candidate? She's young, energetic and has the respect of many of the HS coaches in the state. She’s a proven winner with 4 Class 5A titles, 93-36 college record (29-6, 25-8, 24-8 and 15-14). She is the career leader in assists with 844, sixth in career FT percentage (.802, 271-338) and tied for 19 in career scoring with 1,108 points.
  14. It doesn't appear to be. I checked NFL network and it's not on there. FC Dallas and Colorado are on Fox Sports Southwest. This from a story on the website. It's at the bottom of the page. One player to watch in the game is Marquis Frazier, a 6-4, 270-pound defensive end from Garland.Frazier was heavily recruited by several Division I schools — especially Nebraska — but was unable to get his qualifying test score. He signed with Navarro College but did not list any college on his Oil Bowl player information form.Other Texans defenders to keep an eye on are Marquese Davis, a linebacker from Atlanta, and Kyle Russo, an end from Southlake Carroll.Davis had 154 tackles with three interceptions, four forced fumbles and seven fumble recoveries last season. Russo had 21 sacks for the Dragons, who have won three straight state titles. If the stuff on Frazier is true, NT might want to keep an eye on Navarro for the next couple of years. Aren't Brewster and Hurd at Navarro?
  15. His speed and long hair remind me of former West Virginia player Adam Jones. As long as he acts like Adam and not Pacman, Dodge has a jewel.
