No, Dodge said that they must be effective in the offense because there were people behind them. My take is, whoever wins the job after the second scrimmage will be the starter against OU. If they are effective (Dodge's word, not mine), they will start against SMU. If not, then the QB battle is open again. He did not say what effective meant.

Stopped by the ticket office on my way out of Denton today to get my season tickets. They mailed them out today. Should have tickets in hand by next Wednesday, depending on where you live.

Just got back from media day and this a direct quote from Coach Todd Dodge," A walk on freshman will be kicking off at Oklahoma." Take that for what it is worth. Either Thomas Moreland (5-11, 180) from Forney (North Texas) and Clayton Teasdale (5-8, 162) from Carrollton Newman Smith are the only two freshman walk-on kickers. He mentioned both by name, but did not elaborate on either.

Please lets not get into another Andrew Smith debate. Was he a solid QB that took NT to its first bowl win in forever? YES. Did he drive drunk and high that resulted in him being killed? YES. Mack Brown releases statement on Jones Texas coach Mack Brown has released a statement on the aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon charge against freshman defensive tackle Andre Jones, who turned himself into authorities today: "We are disappointed to hear about the recent allegations against Dre Jones," Brown said. "They are very serious charges. We will cooperate with authorities through the legal process and support Dre any way we can.
