  1. The gentleman I sat next to said he went to USF as well, before they had a football team. He was at the game with his daughter. Said he really enjoyed it, might make it a regular event.
  2. Brock Stickler blocked a NLU defender from the side. The official threw a flag for blocking from behind, but after a lengthy discussion with his fellow officials, and replay proves the fact, he picked up the flag. Which was the correct call.
  3. DD, Rick has not critized a coach by name on the public forum. He has not criticized a play by name on the public forum. I feel lucky to call Rick McKinney a friend and he does not do things like that. He is the face of that most associate with North Texas football because of the fire helmet. The coach, whoever it was, confronted Rick, not verbally, but from what I understand his actions spoke louder than words. The coach confronted the "FAN BASE" of the school that employs him over some negative comments on a fan message board, not the person who made the comments, but the face he associated with the board. He should not have to defend himself against an angry coach, especially in front of his family. Rick was a fan of the Mean Green long before the current coaching staff took over, and he will be a fan of North Texas long after this coaching staff is gone. He was "called out and be humilitated" by the coaches for what others have said. Not anything he has said or done. If you have any information on this situation that has not been presented, I'm sure I'm not the only one who would like to see it. So You can put a face with the name Brett Tulloss, aka GreenBat, friend of Rick McKinney, aka FireFightnRick and a proud supporter of the MEAN GREEN
  4. Pie row, Do you still have your tatoo, the one that shows you truly bleed Green? If so, how about a new picture.
  5. Saw Johnny Jones walking around at the FB game, just wondered if anyone went to BB practice on Saturday? If so how about a report on how the team looked.
  6. I debated on posting the photo since it would look as I was saying something against Coach Mendoza. That is not the case. I just thought it was interesting that the HC found it necessary to "exchange words" with the DC after a win where the Defense played its best game. And it was on the field RIGHT AFTER THE GAME. Again I ask Trouble in paradise?
  7. North Texas upsets ULM 31-21 When an 0-5 team beats a 1-4 team, is it an Upset? It's a good day whenever NT beats the Northeast Louisiana University Indians in anything, but especially football.
  8. Do you always something negative to say?
  9. The picture in the DRC slideshow would have happened before the incident with FFR if the coach was Mendoza, after speaking with Rick, I'm not convinced it was. This was right after the game and before the team walked over to the student section for the alma-mater.

  11. Gary Payne/ Denton Record-Chronicle Picture #18 University of North Texas head coach Todd Dodge, center, amd defensive coordinator Ron Mendoza exchange words after their 31-21 win against University of Louisiana-Monroe during a college football game at Fouts Field on Saturday, Oct. 13, 2007. North Texas allowed two touchdowns in the last few minutes of the game. ____________________________________ It appears Ron Mendoza pissed in Todges wheaties with the defense allowing two scores and allowing ULM to get back into the game. Trouble in paradise?
  12. If you are in the DFW-area. You watch on KXTA-21.
  13. Carroll strikes quickly to overwhelm Haltom By TRAE THOMPSON Star-Telegram staff writer Much like its previous teams, which wrapped up victories by halftime, Southlake Carroll came out and took apart Haltom in the first quarter Friday night. The Dragons (5-1, 3-0 District 5-5A) needed nine plays to go up 28-0, and cruised to a 58-6 victory over the Buffalos at Dragon Stadium. The Dragons led 51-0 by halftime. It was already their second-most points of the season and eclipsed the 49-0 halftime lead they held against Haltom last year. "I told you we keep getting better and better," Dragons coach Hal Wasson said. "We still have several guys out, but the guys we've put in have responded well. I'm proud of the way they're bonding together." The Dragons' victory came without two more starters. Wide receiver Chris Brainard was out for precautionary reasons after being involved in a car wreck on Oct. 4 prior to the Colleyville Heritage game, and linebacker Derek Tomlin was out with a sprained posterior cruciate ligament suffered in the win over Colleyville Heritage. The knee injury can be rehabbed, and Tomlin is expected to be out for three weeks at the most. Carroll had great field position to start each of its possessions (its worst start was at its 26) and scored touchdowns on its first five possessions. The Dragons added a pair of field goals by sophomore Cade Foster, the second a 42-yarder that gave the Dragons a 41-0 lead with 5:08 left in the first half. Haltom (1-5, 0-3) punted for the fifth time, and the Dragons returned to score, this time on Tré Newton's 15-yard run that made the score 48-0. Newton, who had four carries on the drive, had 12 carries for 153 yards in the first half and was already replaced by backup Tommy Avers on the Dragons' final possession of the half. That ended on another Foster field goal for 27 yards. Haltom scored its touchdown on the first possession of the second half when quarterback Shane Smith hit James Pearson on a 5-yard pass on fourth-and-5. The Buffalos' two-point conversion attempt failed. The Dragons responded with their final points, which came on Avers' 2-yard run, capping a 13-play 64-yard drive. ________________________________________ Don't know why Dunbar didn't play. 14. I checked with the DMN's resident "Dildo" Tim Macmahon, and he checked with his contacts and said nobody knew anything or nobody cared, he wasn't sure. I've still got a couple of other tricks up my sleeve. I'll let you know what I find out. Hope I can do more than "Dildo" Macmahon.
  15. 3Q score SLC 51 Haltom 0 Looks like Haltom borrowed Mendoza!
  16. King Eli High school football players 'fix' vote for leukemia-stricken king By Jay Weiner Special to ESPN.com It was halftime at the Lake Fenton-Mount Morris game, seemingly just another high school football contest during another homecoming week on another October Friday night in another American suburb. But this time the fix was in. Four Lake Fenton (Mich.) football players and a co-conspirator on the golf team arranged it. Seniors all, they'd used their cell phones to hatch and agree on the plan, and then met outside the school building the afternoon before the big homecoming game to nail it down. Lose on purpose? Just try and read this without tearing up.
  17. Shopmeangreen, Will you have any gear at the game?
  18. They are printing a correction in tomorrows paper.
  19. Stephen is really a nice guy. He spent about 10 minutes with me on my first conversation and then spent another 10 or so minutes when he called me back. This all started when the Star-Telegram reporter took on himself to write it was open to fans. Stephen just wanted to make sure a bunch of people showed up expecting something big and being disappointed. The only reason I made a call, was I didn't want any more incorrect information getting out. Stephen is a really good guy and we are lucky to have him.
  20. Just received a follow up call from Stephen Howard. He just got off the phone with Coach Jones. There is NO, repeat NO problem with fans stopping by practice on Friday night or Saturday afternoon. They just don’t advertise that practice is open to the public. If a group of fans want to attend Friday’s practice they are more than welcome. I explained to Stephen Howard there was quite a bit of interest in this year’s team because of the tournament appearance and he said he was sorry for the mis- information that came out in the Star-Telegram and that his original response further confused the situation. This is a direct quote “Practices are not technically, open to the public, but Coach Jones does not mind if fans want to come watch. In fact he’s thrilled they care enough to watch practice.” So if you would like to attend practice on Friday. It runs from 7-9 p.m. And if some fans want to go over to the Super Pit before they tailgate, practice is from Noon-3 p.m. Coach Jones welcomes you and thanks you for your attendance, but ask that you do not interrupt practice.
