  1. That ignorant statement has just earned you a spot on my "IGNORE POSTER" list. I know you don't care, but that is a foolish statement. Coach Dodge will sit Riley and play whoever he thinks gives his team the best chance to win.
  2. You are so slueless it is not even worth agueing with you. This will be my last post on this subject until, you or another one of your ball kicking cronies can show me facts, like I presented on why NT should bring in another fall sport, which competes with football versus a spring sport, which only competes with T&F and Softball. Like I said, FACTS. I'm not even sure NT needs baseball, but I know for damn sure that it doesn't need another non-revenue sport, which is going to suck up the already small athletic budget, and not even come close to paying the start up cost in two seasons.
  3. By JESSICA GRESKO, Associated Press Writer 1 hour, 42 minutes ago MIAMI - Police have detained at least three people in the Fort Myers area for questioning in the death of Washington Redskins star Sean Taylor. ADVERTISEMENT A law enforcement official in Lee County confirmed the men from the Fort Myers area were in custody, but requested anonymity because the investigation is being handled by Miami-Dade County police. Miami-Dade police would not confirm if anyone was in custody for the shooting death of Taylor, who was attacked at his Miami area home Monday and died a day later. Police only said detectives were in the Fort Myers area for an unspecified case. "Our detectives are out there in Fort Myers conducting an investigation, gathering information and at this particular time they are not comfortable releasing any information regarding their investigation," police spokesman Robert Williams said. "As soon as information develops that will not jeopardize their case, they will release information." The Miami Herald, which first reported the development on its Web site, said investigators believe the suspects learned of Taylor's house through someone who unwittingly set up the burglary by bragging about his wealth. The suspects include two teenagers and a man in his 20s, all from the Fort Myers area, the paper reported. A telephone message left at the Florida City Police Department for the slain safety's father, Chief Pedro Taylor, was not immediately returned. Richard Sharpstein, a former Taylor lawyer and family friend, confirmed the law enforcement report. "It's my understanding that three individuals are in custody. A house is being searched," Sharpstein said, without disclosing who had given him the information. He repeated previous statements that the burglary did not appear to be random and that the 24-year-old's house had been targeted. Taylor's teammates and friends were measured in responding to this latest development. "I can't get excited or get my hopes up hoping these are the guys until we know for sure," said running back Clinton Portis. "Everybody wants to know why. It's still not gonna bring back Sean. It will still take a great guy away from the world." Said receiver Santana Moss: "If those are the guys, I just hope that they'll just be dealt with properly. I feel there's nothing much I can say about it. It's no anger I can express to them. What's done is done." Evidence at Taylor's home indicated one or more intruders barged into the house early Monday in an attempted burglary, Miami-Dade police director Robert Parker said Wednesday. Taylor and longtime girlfriend, Jackie Garcia, were awakened by loud noises at Taylor's home in an affluent Miami suburb, Sharpstein has said. Taylor grabbed a machete he keeps in the bedroom for protection, Sharpstein said, then someone broke through the bedroom door and fired two shots, one missing and one hitting Taylor in the upper leg. Neither the couple's 18-month-old daughter, also named Jackie, nor Garcia were injured in the attack. The bullet damaged the femoral artery in Taylor's leg, causing significant blood loss. Taylor never regained consciousness and died a little more than 24 hours later. A public viewing for Taylor is scheduled Sunday in Miami, and the entire Redskins organization plans to fly to Florida to attend Monday's funeral at Pharmed Arena at Florida International University.
  4. I have one NT Autograph-- Jamario Thomas. He is a class act and always has been. I would love for him to have a 300 yard game in the finale, but knowing him he would be happy with a negative 10 yard game, as long as the team wins. Thank You Super Jamario, you have been a pleasure to watch and have truly lived up to your nickname. Thanks again, Brett Tulloss
  5. Same can be said on you and baseball. There is only 1, count them 1, YES I SAID ONE, Division 1 Men's program in Texas. That is Southern Methodist University. I believe Tulsa or Oral Roberts are the next closest Division 1 program. Centenary College (Louisiana) is the only school in Louisiana that offers Division 1 mens soccer. If money grew on trees, I would gladly back starting a Men's Soccer program, but FACTS are FACTS. Travel expenses would be unduly high for a program that would at best draw 2,000 fans (double the size that the current facility) per game for 10 home games (Number of home games for the women's team in 2007). That would only be $80,000 adult tickets at $4 (adult), $2 (children), same price that NT charges for Women's Soccer. At these generously over inflated numbers the program would not pay for the travel to half of the games, let alone the cost of a salaries for coaching staff, the cost of uniforms and equipment. I haven't even begun to investigate the cost of the 9.9 scholarships the NCAA allows each division 1 soccer Men's program. This is a futile arguement, starting a men's program would require starting an equitable women's program. NT cannot afford to support two programs that do not pay for themselves. Division I soccer programs Most Division 1 soccer programs are
  6. Lawyers should never ask a Mississippi grandma a question if they aren't prepared for the answer. In a trial, a Southern small-town prosecuting attorney called his first witness, a grandmotherly, elderly woman to the stand. He approached her and asked, "Mrs. Jones, do you know me?" She responded, "Why, yes, I do know you, Mr.. Williams. I've known you since you were a young boy, and frankly, you've been a big disappointment to me. You lie, you cheat on your wife, and you manipulate people and talk about them behind their backs. You think you're a big shot when you haven't the brains to realize you never will amount to anything more than a two-bit paper pusher. Yes, I know you." The lawyer was stunned! Not knowing what else to do, he pointed across the room and asked, "Mrs. Jones, do you know the defense attorney?" She again replied, "Why, yes, I do. I've known Mr. Bradley since he was a youngster, too. He's lazy, bigoted, and he has a drinking problem. He can't build a n ormal relationship with anyone and his law practice is one of the worst in the entire state. Not to mention he cheated on his wife with three different women. One of them was your wife. Yes, I know him." The defense attorney almost died. The judge asked both counselors to approach the bench and, in a very quiet voice, said, "If either of you idiots asks her if she knows me, I'll send you both to the electric chair.
  7. And all of the 3 MILLION people are watch f'ing Tu or A&M. I know, I grew up down in Universal City, which is about 37.1 miles from San Marcos (according to Mapquest). SWT or TSU at San Marcos is a nice school, but they would have a hard time getting the town to support losing DI football. They haven't supported winning D-1AA football.
  8. I met KingDL1 before the Navy game. I know a lot of the slackers who are on this board. I kid the MEAN GREEN Nation is strong and getting stronger.
  9. He was the QB of the San Antonio Gunslingers in the USFL and I have one of his replica jerseys I'd like to get signed. That's the only reason I hope he goes to SMU.
  10. You'd have to check, but I believe you will be removed for using a whistle or any outside noise maker.
  11. It's going to take a miracle for the Bears not to finish 6th in the Big 12 South (Baylor, Oklahoma, Ok. St., Texas, Texas A&M, Texas Tech). They might finish ahead of Ok. St. once the next 10 years. They will never finish in the top 3 of the division. Let alone even sniff a shot at the Big XII Championship game. Briles is a good guy and a great coach, but he is going to coaching purgatory.
  12. It would be worth putting $5 dollars in an envelope to call the dude a dumb a$$ for hiring DD.

  14. I guess I'm too old, or too stupid to get the joke. Please explain.
  15. Well if THE TICKET says it, then it must be true. The station who refers to MY University as North Texas State Teachers College and employs one of the worst NT alums in the history of ever (Craig Miller). THE TICKET is amusing mindless drivel, not sports. His nickname is A.D. as in All Day, no matter what the all-knowing TICKET says.
  16. John, That made me smile. Good one.
  17. Next year he would have had to pick between 2 Dicks (Casey & Nathan).
  18. D'07, His intent was to make a statement to the members of this message board. And that was to shut the F up about his defense. He didn't handle the right way. FFR, unlike you, me and most NT football fans, schedules his fall around NT football. He has probably missed less games since you've followed the MEAN GREEN, than you have attended. I'm not saying that Rick is the perfect fan, I know he's not, he goes overboard sometimes, but if NT had 20 more fans with Rick's passion then it would a helluva a lot closer to being big time than it is now. As a college coach, you never refuse a handshake, even if you know for a fact that the offered hand comes from someone who just MF'd you.
  19. Don't forget Brad Kassell was a QB when he arrived at NT from LLano. I think Phillips might be a linebacker, but I expect a Free Safety. I think Tomlin will stay at LB. He's a head-hunter there. He'll redshirt and put on 15-20 pounds then he'll create havoc.
  20. Wonder if Jeff would have any interest in the Def. Coordinators job, if/when it becomes available?
  21. The previous break-in last week, there was a knife left on his bed. Keep tuned there might be more to this story. No information, just a feeling.
