  1. Glad to see some other people realize what type of people we have running the Mean Green Club and raising money for the stadium.
  2. If, and that's a big IF they beat Mizzou tonight!
  3. And Ike Thomas had some bright spots.
  4. There is no Harris or Nick on the Hebron roster.
  5. Wright sets sights on Georgia Tech Burt Henry Express-News Staff Writer Reagan running back Marcus Wright, a two-time Express-News Area Offensive Player of the Year, said late Tuesday night he has changed his mind and has committed to Georgia Tech. Wright originally had committed to Tulsa last summer. "We just didn't feel like (Tulsa) was the right fit for us," said Wright, who rushed for a city-record 3,374 yards in leading Reagan to the Class 5A Division I state quarterfinals. Wright, whose parents are from Georgia, said he was impressed by the new Georgia Tech coaching staff. They started contacting Wright just before the U.S. Army All-American Bowl two weeks ago. Paul Johnson took the Georgia Tech job in December after coaching at Navy for the past six seasons. He guided the Midshipmen to a victory over Notre Dame this season — Navy's first over the Irish since 1963 — and a fifth-straight bowl bid. The Midshipmen led the nation in rushing for the third consecutive season with an average of more than 350 yards per game. That was enough to persuade Wright to commit to the Yellow Jackets. "They have three running backs on the field most of the time," Wright said. "And at least one of those positions is a running back who requires a lot of speed. I just thought that would be right for me." Wright, the Associated Press Class 5A Offensive Player of the Year, said he will take an official visit to Georgia Tech this weekend and does not have any other visits planned. Commitments are nonbinding. National signing day is Feb. 6.
  6. Who is he working for? the Mavs?
  7. Florida Atlantic! Was the only team from the previously daunting Sunshine State to win a bowl. Defending champ Florida, Central Florida, South Florida and Bobby Bowden’s usual collection of inmates all lost. At least those teams made the invite list. Miami couldn’t even manage a point in the Canes’ final game at their historic home field, the venerable Orange Bowl. “The U” turned out to be the state’s – and one of the Bowl Championship Subdivision’s – biggest losers for the entire year.
  8. HP did not win State in football. They might in Hoops under the direction of David Piehler, who is destined to be a college coach.
  9. Applewhite in running for job on the Longhorns staff Associated Press Updated: January 15, 2008, 6:42 PM ET t AUSTIN -- Former Texas quarterback Major Applewhite, the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Alabama, is in the running for a job on the Longhorns staff. Texas, which needs a running backs coach, cannot announce a hire until Wednesday night at the earliest because of job posting rules, school officials said. Applewhite is one of several being considered for the job by Longhorns coach Mack Brown. The Austin American-Statesman reported Applewhite was on the Texas campus Tuesday to interview for the job, but a school official said Brown was out of town recruiting during the day. Brown has already done some shuffling on his staff, hiring defensive coordinator Will Muschamp from Auburn and moving former coordinator Duane Akina back to his role as secondary coach. The current vacancy was created when assistant coach Ken Rucker moved to the athletic department. Greg Davis, Brown's longtime offensive coordinator, remains in his job. Applewhite, 29, has been a rising star in assistant coaching circles for several years, moving from a graduate assistant at Texas to the full-time staff at Syracuse and Rice and then to the Crimson Tide within the last four years. Applewhite was the starting quarterback for Texas during most of 1998 and 1999, then split duty with Chris Simms in 2000 before being relegated to a backup role in 2001. He still holds a handful of Texas passing records, including career yards with 8,353.
  10. Just got off the phone with the UNT Ticket office. There are plenty of tickets ($50) available for the football banquet. If you need or want tickets to the football banquet call the NT ticket office at 1-800-868-2366.
  11. Titans fire Chow after three seasons ESPN.com news services Updated: January 15, 2008, 2:20 PM ET The Tennessee Titans fired offensive coordinator Norm Chow after three seasons with the team, ESPN's Chris Mortensen reported Tuesday. The Titans finished the regular season 10-6 and suffered a 17-6 loss to the San Diego Chargers in the first round of the playoffs. They finished 10th in the AFC in total yards. Chow, who was previously the offensive coordinator at USC, was interviewed for UCLA's head coach opening in December but withdrew his name from consideration. The Bruins went on to hire Rick Neuheisel.
  12. Especially on 4th and inches. Don't want to fumble the snap!
  13. Who has seen Brian Hornstein of Adamson. He's 6-10, but averages 2.2 points, 2.9 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game. Can he block shots or is he just another stiff? Does he have any upside?
  14. I think Roger Franklin would make us a Sweet 16 team this year and he's only a junior in HS. He is a smooth small forward, who can shoot from 3 feet or 24 feet. He is 14.26 points and around 7 rebounds per game. He has offers from Arkansas, K State, Marquette, Oklahoma, Ok. State and Utah. Georgetown, Baylor, Kansas, Kentucky, Miami-FL, Southern Cal, Texas, Texas A&M & Texas Tech are all after him. If Johnny Jones pulls this rabbit out of the hat, he is a recruiting god. If he could get Nolan Dennis from Richland, that would be cool as well. Is Nolan, Collins little brother? That might help get him here, but he's got NBA-type talent.
  15. They've been right on the last two things. TY Sports
  16. I also cheered for the Houston Oilers when they were around. The reason I pull for the Redskins I spent the summers in Washington D.C. with an uncle who had season tickets to RFK, the best stadium known to man. I attended preseason games and fell in love with the Skins and their Fat, old QB Billy Kilmer, who did nothing but win. I have never liked the Cowgirls and all my friends give me garbage over it, but hey that's who I am. Love me or hate me, I don't care which. Go Mean Green, long live Billy Kilmer!!
  17. You're correct. THe Skins last win was over your belived Cowgirls.
  18. Born and bread. Have always said the Cowboys fans are whiners and always will. This just proves my point!
  19. Why when the whiny Cowboys lose is the other team classless. It's you whiny-ass Cowboys fans that need to learn something about class.
