It is possible, but I think this is nothing but a good thing... For a team that has been to that bowl, say 3 years in a row, it might be necessary to play some stiffer competition than what other conferences send to that bowl game...

I remember playing there in HS for either the battle of the axe or a playoff game. Can't remember which. I remember we picked up police escorts half way through the bus ride up just to get there on time because traffic was so horrible. Think we were still late getting there.

I am missing the story I guess. She wasn't lied to... The way I have read this story in every medium possible. They told her they had not used water boarding to that point, but it was legal, when she actually bothered to be present herself at that briefing. 5 months later when her peon went to multiple briefings for her because she didn't need to be bothered with it, they told her peon they had used water boarding. So, any logical thinking person would conclude that the use of water boarding started between the time she went to the first meeting and whenever her she overheard her peon saying they use water boarding. STUPID BITCH.

What elephant in the room? 1) 2005: 2-9? 2) 2006: 3-9? 3) 2007: 2-10? 4) 2008: 1-11? OR 5) Seeing a Dodge recruit (we may or may not get in a year or 2) stick around long enough to have a REAL impact on this program? Things aren't going well right now. Every recruit in the world knows what the challenges are coming here. However, when you think about all those challenges, UNT has an huge upside that we, as fans, all see. Obviously, the players that are committing here see it too. There is nothing wrong with sticking your head in the sand if you want to, but don't expect everyone to not talk about where we are and where we need to get to. You all act like recruits don't notice these things. The best part about getting a potentially great recruit, is that they are committing because they want to be a reason for turning things around here.

This derailment was much needed with the crap that is being spewed forth like gospel. Mods should definitely delete this damned thread. It's not that the program has hit a rough patch that I am embarrassed to be a fan of UNT. I'm embarrassed because by calling myself a fan, I am lumped in with the type of comments that are made in this thread, which are not reflective of the majority. Give me all the jack-assery TTG and Quoner used to bring, and all the cussing one could fit to this sad sack of crap. Unreal.

Please Do. I don't mind the guy, but if he really isn't contributing anything beyond linking his site and taking traffic away from this one - why do you let him post here still? He posts nothing but links to his opinions. The rest of us discuss here and respond to each other building a community of acquaintances and friends who care about the same thing. This guy is doing a job and exploiting this site to do it. People on this board usually read his blog/opinions anyway, we really don't need a link from him. Brett, Please contribute and share something on this board that you don't include in your blog or column. Participate in some jackassery and funny business. It only has to have a tinge of something being related to football.

I was pretty happy with the defense toward the end. I am judging how much this team has improved by how we look on defense because face it - it's really the only thing that matters. I really think the offense will be there, just hoping we can eliminate the killer turnovers from last season...

Thanks for the reminder, I probably wouldn't have thought about it until I was sitting on 35W stuck behind Joe Dirt and Ricky Bobby.

Lots of Good things to look forward to with this team next year. We really need to get over those early season losses to UTA and other teams we should be beating. Really need to focus on starting to get in based on our resume and stop letting our NCAA tourney fate be decided by a few points in the tourney. Great game. Great season. I'm sure our guys will come back next year with some big expectations and big appetites.

Lots of no calls on that series... Couple of poor calls, one against Howerton.

I was particularly disappointed with how we handled the ball up 10+ in the second half. 2-3 unforced turnovers (bad passing) in a row and they were back in it quickly. Hopefully we will be a little smarter down the stretch when we get up like that in the tourney. Overall though, I liked our 1st half play and the last minute of the game knocking down the pressure shots and getting critical stops at points when we needed them.
