  1. 1. Yes, we are no younger than other teams we play against. 2. We played well outside of 5 plays... 3 ints, 1 fumble, 1 blocked kick. You don't have to play perfect, but you can't turn the ball over 5 times and have 2 of them lead directly to TDs. 3. Yes, it is something to be happy about... this losing shit is almost over. 4. Dodge will be here, and that is a good thing. I do not want this school to get into the habit of changing coaches like underwear. We can't afford it, and we sure as hell won't attract great coaches if they aren't given time to build.
  2. Isn't Kansas 5-0? One more win and they are in...
  3. Loser Fan.
  4. June Jones also costs SMU at least 6 times what Dodge does.
  5. You can hire Mendoza to run your defense, I don't want him. I'll take DeLoach. You don't hear opposing coaches laughing and saying we run a HS defense anymore. Anyone is an upgrade over Mendoza.
  6. Dawaylon Cook dropped a sure interception. Other than that, I thought he had a very good game.
  7. I thought this was going to be a week where we could win with a (-3) turnover ratio. 17 of 29 games during the Dodge tenure giving up 3+ turnovers. 1 win when we let up 3+. Ulala defense was jumping our slants, flats, and out routes less than 10 yds all game. When you turn the ball over 4 times you are lucky to be in the game at the end, and you don't deserve to win. Our defense deserves wins this year. You can blame the defense for not coming through in the clutch, but when they make key stops at the beginning of the game after being put in awful field position by offensive turnovers, you can't blame the loss on them. They won their game. The pick 6 lost the real one.
  8. That's just good recruiting and keeping an ear to the ground. I must ask again... How are we losing? Dodge has been great for getting players in here, it has to be only a matter of time before we start winning, right?
  9. I'd say recently, under Dodge, our gameplan is to limit turnovers against big boys. If we had that mentality against conference mates, I say we win more ball games. Can't fault that gameplan. We are +2 against BCS AQ Conf foes. 10. Not saying it's not a problem. What I am saying is that, by reading this board, it seems that the majority seem to think it's play calling only and not bad route running, bad decisions etc... Quick to blame the staff and not the players. I think this is common though, I would rather blame it on a 40+ yr old man than a 18-20something yr old, but I honestly don't believe that.
  11. Just want to add that after watching the MTSU game... No one can ever say this staff can't make halftime adjustments. Yes, we lost. But it was because the 1st half was an abortion. Our 1st half team killed our 2nd half team.
  12. The players did have a chance, and did not execute for more than one reason. None of them are excusable - be it playcalling, or just plain bad fundamentals and execution. Did it ever occur that those play calls were that way because we had a relatively inexperienced QB that needed to get some completions under his belt? Does it make any sense to throw deep on a defensive team with that kind of speed. I'll take 5-10 yards every time if it's there. With the previous coaching staff we wanted to pass more. Now, we want to pass beyond 10 yards every play whether the guy is open or not. Incredible.
  13. The difference in this game is the excessive celebration penalty and poor clock management for ark. st. in the 4th quarter.
  14. Been watching the whole game. Leonard played a very good 1 half. Lets see if he can finish this game strong.
  15. KAjunRaider hit the nail on the head. Dodge's tenure here has been characterized by turnovers. I don't know if you can coach out interceptions and turnovers. I don't remember, who can we blame for the 2 fumbles?
  16. Maybe the band will start winning conference championships soon.
  17. I'm tired of reading posts comparing football winning percentage to a boss and a job performance. There is no comparison. This is the most tired and worn out analogy ever. There is next to nothing in common.
  18. Too much emphasis on Time of Possession. It's a meaningless stat when Bama can score in less than 60sec.
  19. I am pretty impressed with Atterbury and Carey. I know that Tune was capable against Ohio. It's just unfortunate that the first start of his career has to be this game, and I hope he doesn't get down about it. The rest of the team too for that matter. I am excited to see our WR transfers next year play with Carey. Impressed with the ability of Cam and Lance to stay upright and on their feet with many Bama tacklers. Against the rest of the competition we've faced and will face they have and will be able to push piles and drag tacklers by themselves. It's like running into a wall against Bama. I'm not impressed with the O-line, although with the size difference I can understand. Not impressed with the play calling of particularly the run plays outside the tackles... This is a fast bama team, not going to work. I'm not impressed with tackling. These guys aren't going to fall down when you throw yourself on the ground a foot away. It's obvious there are a few of our guys that can match up and accomplish things against this type of competition, but there just aren't enough.
  20. Why defiantly?
  21. I stopped paying attention to that crap after I noticed one game was wrong.
  22. I'm seeing 60% chance of thunderstorms all day long... This game could very well get postponed.
  23. Dunno when yet. In between the Pit and the Field. Most likely with the usual krew - Old Guy Student, FilmerJ, JimmerJammer, Tasty Greek, Quoner, GMG1999 and all the ladies that just show up wherever we I go. Burgers/Brats and maybe some new recipes, and maybe some cookies. Personally - Bud Light Lime (it works on hot days)
  24. Since the SEC is not beating up on each other right now, it only makes sense to televise the games against the conference that shares the same regional footprint. In some cases, the schools in the SBC are right down the road from ones in the SEC. It's a win-winl in my opinion.
