I didn't make a comment about Bama or Florida not deserving to be in the championship. Bama and Texas have the records and opponent won-loss that make a strong case they might be the best 2 in the nation. I realize Cincy no longer plays in C-USA, and they are still the weakest of all the undefeated teams IMO because they don't play defense. You say, Oklahoma is "Still a decent team this year" which finished 4th in the Big 12 South, which, "Sucks this year". Do you realize how silly this sounds? Do you realize that you contradicted yourself? Do you realize that Texas beat everyone in the Big 12 South? I know who exactly TCU beat and by how much - I went to more than one of their games this year. All of the fans I tailgated and went to the games with welcomed me with open arms to go to their games. They even made the comment, "since your team is doing so bad, why don't you become a bandwagon TCU fan?". I would hardly say Clemson and Air Force got "crushed". They got beat. TCU deserves to play someone other than Boise, and Boise deserves to play someone other than TCU. Yes the BCS schools are Chicken S to not want to play them. However, a show of class would be realizing that even though you may hate the fans and everything about a particular school, they still deserve to be there. I would love for UNT to have "douchebag" fans that never went here, but cheer for us anyway. You forget that you are talking to a fan who traveled to see a 77-10 defeat from a school in a conference that, "sucks this year". So, spare me your war stories of asshole fans assaulting you, because everyone at this school has got more than a few from more than just one school. It's obvious you and many others here hate Texas and can't take a step back and realize that it's no Texas led conspiracy they are where they are. You would think after all of this losing that our fans would be able to take a step back and look at things objectively without crying like little babies that the bullys took our soup, but it seems we haven't learned our lesson on what sportsmanship really means. Perhaps our fan base deserves a few more losing seasons. Of course Frogs fans aren't happy UT won. They wanted them to lose to get an opportunity for a NC, but probably didn't even expect it to be that close - and most probably say that Texas won legitimately. The Frog Fans I know, do. I wanted TCU to get a shot, but realistically didn't expect them to. I personally don't know that the 2 best teams are in the championship game at this point, but can't argue with the logic, and even now have a tough time telling you who the best 2 are, but Texas makes a pretty good case. There are 5 undefeated teams now. Anyone of the 5 teams deserve to be in that game. I don't understand the Yankees comment... it doesn't apply. I did see the '88 game on film and still think something went on with the fumble calls and maybe (a lot less conclusive on the touchdown), but think it's crazy to keep referencing it like it's the sole reason for keeping UNT down 20+ years later. The Refs might not have been great in the game last night, but I think the replay booth got all of the calls right. If anyone thinks that horse collar isn't legitimate, then it's obvious your '88 game fueled hatred for UT blinds your judgment. Nebraska was stupid to go prevent at the end of the game, and probably should have been able to make a stop when Texas' starting field position was their own 1/2 yard line. Texas' clock management at the end was some of the worst I have ever seen in any football game. The Icing the kicker timeout was a bad call. Lawrence is too good of a kicker to give that much time to calm down.

Im not saying they absolutely can't go 3-0, but chances are it will be otherwise, and lines makers will probably agree with me. Underrated. Our fans are incredible. It's no wonder this board is referred to as the "idiot board". Everyone raise your hand if you thought at the beginning of the season Thompson was/is going to start here for the next 4 years. Nothing is guaranteed in this world - like playing quarterback for your school's team. All of you who act like Dodge somehow hurt this kids' college career need to remember that he actually could have helped it. The coach is there to make tough game-time decisions for the football program and try to win games. I'm sure Dodge didn't think twice about going to the next QB on his depth chart, or have a conference with him and his parents before burning a redshirt during a game. I'm damn glad he didn't consult any of you before making that decision either. If a coach is truly supposed to look out for the best interests of his players, we wouldn't have practice squads or starting QBs. Everyone would get equal time at the position of their choice.

Game Over

Considering they've beaten us the past 3 times we've played them... I'd say getting around them this year is a pretty big accomplishment and shows that we are growing as a program. We also had to battle back from down 10 in the 1st to tie and push it to overtime twice and eventually win. This is exactly the type of game we have to have experience winning come tourney time.

That's a pretty good point... BUT. I'd take that. If he is "one and done good" - You couldn't pick a better year for the team to be more stacked. This year is going to be fun and the team should be good. Real good. But, looking at what we will have next year is going to be even better, especially if he joins the team.
