I hate RPI BS... Has TCU at 177. Either they're overrated or we're underrated - We'd crush them.

I think your hatred for these fans is misguided. You are talking to the people who actually go to some of the women's games. You could guide your hatred for those "90 feet of heat guys" to me, because I don't care enough about women's sports to even post/watch/listen to even the best teams. I didn't even know what "90 feet of heat" was in reference to until I asked Tasty. For me to want to watch women's sports they'd have to play for UNT and be better than MTSU and make the tournament in a 1-5 seed. Even then, I probably wouldn't travel to watch them, or work my TV viewing schedule around the game. Women's basketball just isn't one of the tings I get super pumped up about. Our women's team is as bad at basketball as our men's team is good. I'm sure they aren't proud of a 9-22 season, but they can be proud they won a tournament game, and I'm proud of them too, because it's my school. If that offends anyone I apologize, it's not meant to offend - just not my cup of tea and not an exciting enough brand of basketball for me. For you to actually call out the guys that care enough or pay enough attention to post about a 9-22 team is just silly.

You should definitely at least find out what Jigglin' Geroge's is. Look at it as you and Tasty's favorite past-time of sexual Hot Springs exploration.

"north Texas State" Mentioned On Espn During "the Herd"
MeanMag replied to NThomas's topic in Mean Green Basketball
I don't think it should expand, but not because this F Face said so. We have our chance right now to make the tourney. If they let more teams in, it would just add more disparity between the 1 and 90+ seeds. The likelihood of an upset would be incredibly slim. Also, what seed would the SunBelt autobid conference winner get in that field? That guy's a prick. I'd like to see our starters run a 10 deep train on his Eastern Washington Sheryl Swoops and start something big. -
I think I remembered hearing we had 2 before Thomas left. So that would mean 3 after... crap. Wish this stuff was published somewhere.

Really need to improve that free throw % in the tournament. That will kill us.

This is a 1PM CST tip-off as well... just wanted to make sure everyone had the opportunity to watch/listen.

And - hiring Southlake Carroll head coaches is in UNTs...

Our best conference mark over the last 9 years is a .611 11-7 mark in the '08-'09 effort. I don't know how anyone can be disappointed with our record so far this season. Keep going team.

By extending a contract, the school is obligating future dollars to the coach. If another school comes calling, they will have to pay the school for the sum left on the contract, or some percentage of it. By extending the contract it: 1)Shows JJ what his future worth is presumed to be by UNT. 2)Obligates the school to pay that sum should the school end the contract 3)Makes the buyout sum that other schools have to pay to get him higher, which then can be used to find another theoretically equal caliber coach.

He made some incredibly off-balance shots. Very nice game for him. Some good defensive efforts by him too. By the team for that matter. We were getting the bounces and rolls last night. Everything was falling.

Student section was incredible. I was very impressed with the vocal chords. Also: Damn, I like our pep band.

North Texas 2010 (Real Outlook And Message To All Nt Posters)
MeanMag replied to NTFB4LIFE's topic in Mean Green Football
Turnovers are a huge issue with a Dodge offense. Yes they are part of the game... A part of the game that has been killing us as of late. I do not understand why it is okay to turn the ball over and pass it off as "it's going to happen", and blame the defense. The offense puts up gaudy numbers in every statistical categories. Even the bad categories. I want Dodge to do well and win to the point that he gets offers from other schools. I want other schools to want our coach. Our biggest indicator and problem right now is turnovers. As you can see: defensive takeaways really aren't that much different. Dickey's offense last 3 seasons (2004-2006): Fumbles: 27 Interceptions: 36 Total: 63 Defensive Takaways: 61 Wins: 12 Dodge's offense past 3 seasons (2007-2009): Fumbles: 34 Interceptions: 64 Total: 98 Defensive Takeaways: 55 Wins: 5 To put this in other terms: - Dodge's offense is responsible for 1.1 more turnovers per game than Dickey's. That's a lot when you think about it. - Had Dodge's offense turned it over the same as Dickey's; I think Dodge's Wins would be beyond that of Dickey's - Only 5 teams in the FBS turned it over more than we did. Thanks for posting. Good discussion, and probably the most interesting conversation of the off-season. -
The President, being the head of the law enforcement end of govt (the executive branch) has every right under the constitution to investigate (or not) any criminal activity with probable cause. Congress on the other hand, really has no ability to weigh in on the matter unless it is affecting interstate commerce, but they would also need an investigation first, so what's the harm? Personally, I would love for the president to get involved in an investigation in this matter. The more he focuses here, perhaps the less he'll focus on law making issues, theoretically beyond his job description.

What a strange, strange year it has been so far.

Apparently this story insinuates that we are looking for spread guys with Texas ties.

I have to call attention to this Irony: Some people bring more work home than others. The two most hurtful accusations of one of them is, "Homo" and "Texas Fan". Now it's been mentioned twice in one thread that the two get together for multiple games (horns included) to sit right next to each other watching the others facial expressions.
-
While we are throwing out such opinions and broad-reaching generalizations on such non-UNT football related subjects without any substance or support for arguments just to see what sticks and gets a rise out of other posters: (as well as posting, "Prepare for MeanMag rebuttal in 5...4...3...2..." which must mean that you can't wait to read my next post... I was actually done until you asked for more.) Begin Rant: To all the Texas haters that can't stand for Texas to receive so much attention - you sure do give them a lot of attention. You are playing right into their hands just like all of the Aggies who buy their logo to cut the horns off and OU people who buy it to turn it upside down. You, of all people, should be the ones who could give a rats fecal matter whether Texas won/lost. Talk about simple minded... the second poster on this thread posted, "All sarcasm aside, let the apologist excuses begin."! You even invited it! You only have yourselves to blame, which has been pointed out before on this thread. Instead of focusing so much attention on how overrated Texas and the Big 12 is on a UNT football message board, why isn't anyone talking about how underrated UNT and the Sun Belt is? Instead GoMeanGreen.com's UNT Football message board has a thread a the top of the page titled, "Colt Mccoy" 4 nights after the game was played with posts mostly made by people who could, supposedly, care less about that unrelated school. I'd be willing to bet that outside of the mean green fanbase you'd be hard pressed to find that topic at the top of almost any other schools' forum. Some UNT fans are so desensitized and used to losing the past several seasons that our fans have some false reality of college football and have become so bitter towards just about any AQ program that has any success for any sustained amount of time - deserved or undeserved. Pass it off as those schools getting things handed to them and receiving the benefit of the doubt, they don't care. Until we (UNT) take on the mindset that our friends in Fort Worth have, and start dictating and proving to the college football world on the field that Texas is over-rated, your posts on Texas being overrated will continually draw giggles from everyone. The only fans who have a legitimate beef with where ANYONE is rated right now is 14-0 and ranked 4th in both polls. Also, if anyone continues to seek my opinion on this subject, I will reply back with some insane proclamation about how awesome Texas is - just to make sure this thread stays at the top of the forum. If the UT lovers (non-existent on this forum) aren't a beating to us - you Texas haters sure as hell are.

Ask and you shall receive: It's already proven that rational discussion is unobtainable on this board. Texas proved that the Big 12 champion is not as good in football as the SEC champion this year. I do not think there is another team from the Big 12 that could have played as well (or as poorly as some would see it) as Texas played. While I think a Boise/Bama game would have been interesting, I am not prepared to say the WAC is overall a better football conference than the Big 12. Nor am I prepared to say that it (the WAC) is underrated... The Big 12 finished with 3 teams in the top 25. The MWC finished with 3 as well with a higher overall ranking... Top to bottom, I think the brand of football played in the MWC might have been very close to being on par with the Big 12 this year in football. Their bowl wins reflect that statement. I don't feel the Final Rankings under or overrated any teams this year. I am however, still trying to figure out how Villanova received 2 votes. Texas deserves to be exactly where it finished: 2nd place. I do not know of the conference rankings by which it is determined that, "The Big 12 is overrated."
