  1. I must disagree. I think that they have leverage over the MWC. They don't believe they are Notre Dame, otherwise, they would go independent and this would all be over. They are however, willing to go independent to get the TV coverage they want. For being such a powerful conference now, the MWC has an awful TV contract, and not because of the money, but because of the network. TCU seems to dislike the TV contract as much as BYU. I think ultimately it boils down to what was discussed in the first post. BYU must get TV concessions to stay in. Much like the Big 12 did with Texas. Most TCU fans would hate to see BYU go enough to be ok with giving concessions to them. Since this move seems to be the big story in conference realignment right now, these are pretty decent reads for anyone interested. This site has also had some pretty good news on the MWC. http://www.mwcconnection.com/2010/8/28/1655563/wac-is-still-trying-to-lure-byu http://www.mwcconnection.com/2010/8/28/1655342/both-nevada-fresno-intend-to-join
  2. That's not far off from UNT policy...
  3. I agree. Probably closer to 1/3 live on campus. When you consider the burgeoning metropolis that is Ruston, LA and half the pop. go to school at LaTech, I can see how someone can lose track of the half a percent of UNT students in a place with 6.5 million people. UT must be a commuter school as well. They can only hold 7,100 of their pop on campus.
  4. Absolutely. Don't we have a home and home with them this season?
  5. I sure as hell would not mind taking a trip to Texas State once a year for a football game.
  6. There's a difference between saying it on this msg board and saying it on theirs. When we post over there, it looks like we are seeking out confrontation and actually care about what they are saying about us.
  7. Man, give it a rest. Let them think they are better than us. Who gives a damn? Obviously recruits pick us over them. They know we're better. Our fans posting over there just looks awful. Don't be this guy:
  8. Why all the asshole UNT fans over there posting on their board? It's one thing if it's witty, but that Glick guy is throwin' up some weak shit. That's embarrassing. It really would pay to be a bit more cordial to them. I see no reason why the one guys comment of having a DFW area tournament with UNT, UTA, SMU, and TCU can't be done. The attendance would be high and coverage from local media would be high. Throw in some other area schools if they're interested. With UTAs new stadium coming online, it could put fans in seats in everyone's arena on a rotation.
  9. That's basically the old Sun Belt before Utah State, NM State, and Idaho bolted.
  10. You people who second guess our decisions are way off base. Maybe if we could see all of the cards, you could get upset. UNT hired Chuck Neinas to get the scoop. I'm confident RV has MUCH better information than any of us do. TCU coach Gary Patterson on BYU possibly leaving MWC: "Let’s see what happens in the next two weeks before you make any judgements .. see wht happens on the national landscape. Things I know that maybe you don’t know." How come no one is killing Gary Patterson for saying, "let's wait and see what happens..."? Shit, if TCU would have shown it was renovating a stadium sooner, the Big XII or PAC10 might have snatched them up.
  11. Can we stop with this? Football ball is not Basketball ball at this school. Whoever started drawing lines between the 2 should be ashamed. Basketball ball at this school has a lot to offer a player the caliber of Jordan Williams. 4 20 win seasons in a row and 2 NCAA appearances in this time certainly show that this team has the core and coaching to give someone like Jordan Williams every benefit as a player that can immediately step in and ooze confidence. Jordan and the rest of the players, like White and Thompson, Odufuwa, now, can leave a legacy and continue building the winning tradition and program. This program is teetering on the cusp of something great, and the players that join in will forever be remembered as the ones that got us there. Jordan feels it, as we fans do. That is completely different from football ball. Good for UNT's program, but more importantly, it will be great for Jordan Williams to blaze a trail and be a core component to getting us to a greater level. It certainly won't be easy, but he will have great coaching, great teammates around him, and family right next door. I, like Jordan Williams, am ecstatic with the potential.
  12. There were only 35 donors that put up $105 mil. That also has to be one of the best looking stadiums in the country when it is done.
  13. broken link?
  14. Good research, or a good memory. Either way, +1 for some good info.
  15. I have. I've only played a couple of games so far, none against human opponents yet.
  16. It can be done. I was spanking an Alabama player with NT in last years' version online - the week we played them. The dude quit, and I was pissed.
  17. 29 turnovers says that it sure wasn't part of the solution.
  18. I'm not sayin, I'm just sayin...
  19. I recorded it and skimmed through it today. Didn't see him get any playing time.
  20. Hysteria by Muse. I'm not saying, I'm just sayin...
  21. Is there a dramatic emoticon?
  22. So happy to see this at the top of the board again. Thanks for the post. -1.
  23. +1 Ahh the glory years. Maybe it was the Green Helmets tho. At any rate, I like the same color from head to toe.
  24. Huge news. My Fantasy Football Team is in shambles. -1 For Emmitt's lack of originality and inability to post something not about UT.
