  1. I hope the NCAA lets every football nancy patsy school the ilk of Texas St, WKU and UTSA into the FBS. Adding more overinflated ego FCS schools to the mix would give us sure wins and make a stronger case for the NCAA to implement a playoff system.
  2. NT03 is right. UNT is in no position to be calling the shots right now. If we were to have a different conference affiliation, we'd be the bottom feeder in whatever conference that might be. Now, McCarney is here to change that. UNT is stepping up big time. If we don't start winning this conference, it won't matter what conference we want to be in.
  3. Why is it surprising to anyone that we aren't going to have a deck? If you want to stay on the deck - it is still there. Go to Fouts on Opening day next year and drink your beer. Otherwise, face the facts of reality. Things will change. Change is good. Prices will go up. No one cares about a few people who want to stand on the deck at the athletic center as if that's the only place they could possibly enjoy themselves during a football game.
  4. This is such a cool site... Texas HS Helmet Project You can see this all over the place. Tulsa Union
  5. Prosper Logos My guess is that UNT didn't appreciate seeing it altered with the P. Should we be making fun of SMU? Dallas Roosevelt Or Kansas St? Quinlan Logos Georgia? Gilmer The point is, High Schools do this all of the time, for various reasons including not having the resources to create their own original logo.
  6. I can't answer your question with certainty to who created it. I do know that UNT paid for the design and creation of the current eagle logo and type design. UNT owns that logo and type design and licensed the logo to Prosper. So, if we are to make fun of anyone, it would be Prosper for copying UNT. But, we wouldn't because it is a good thing that we have a logo that people want to use, and we should let them use it. The only problem I have with Prosper putting that on the side of their helmets is that it's not on our helmets so stupid people would make the assumption you have heard, and say that UNT copied Prosper. Which in fact, is the polar opposite of what really happened.
  7. Anyone else notice that Bo Levi Mitchell has Eastern Washington (Crazy red field) in the FCS Championship game?
  8. Wow Daddy, a post from you I can agree with...
  9. Are you serious? Did we back out of this game or something?
  10. How big is our video board going to be? It seems like there would still be space to see around it / under it. Is everyone crying over spilled milk right now? The thing isn't even installed yet.
  11. No one really knows what seating capacity is until the seats get put in...
  12. TCU beat Tech 81-77 Our win vs. Tech, while exciting, is carrying less and less weight.
  13. To my knowledge - there was a donor a while back, who offered to bank roll baseball operating expenses. Don't know if that had anything to do with building a stadium.
  14. I don't see GP wanting to leave, and I think TCU has the resources to keep him. GP spent a long time getting to where he's gotten and he seems real content.
  15. Just wait until a week before the game and check Stub Hub. Bowl tickets are known to go for cents on the dollar on stub hub. Or, just ask someone if they've seen any tickets floating around. A lot of tickets are given away for free to the minor bowl games.
  16. I don't know what else you want from these people. If you ask to get validated, people are going to give you negative rep. We discussed 2 nights ago that I share your concern, but there isn't any other option. Our starters build a lead, you sit them and then your boy Holmen goes in. This article doesn't validate your argument that Holmen needs to start. It validates your concern that you, like everyone else who has watched college basketball before you knows that our starters have been putting in work. Also, take a look at the schedule coming up. The road gets a little less bumpy up until conference time. The world is not ending, and you're not making a terribly ground breaking point.
  17. I didn't see the problem as not having enough rebounds or D. I saw a cold stretch on offense where an extended defense forced some long shot clocks and some turnovers. It wasn't until Tristan put the ball on the floor and moved Josh without the ball that we were able to create. It sounds more like you want to see more Holmen, because of a personal connection. Holmen is a nice player with all of the physical tools and I wish he commanded more respect on the offensive side, but until he breaks the habit of finding comfort in a 15-20' shot, he will not be able to collapse a defense onto him.
  18. Opening a 24 point lead doesn't cause someone to just decide to change their starting lineup. We get it; we're thin at guard... and still winning. We're all a little concerned, but it must be tempered somewhat by the Ws just like the Ws are tempered by knowing that we're not that deep right now.
  19. We like to know that we are moving forward and not back. These guys deserve a full house the way they are playing. Relax. We didn't choke, and there have been more than a few dramatic wins this year. They are wins, however. This team has character in close games. There will be plenty more close calls, our cold blooded scorers will come through, and somehow we always get a key rebound. We will appreciate these games a little later in the season.
  20. I voted "No". We turned down the WAC already. What's the difference between the MWC and the old WAC?
  21. This whole bowl system is a mind numbing sham. Teams/schools don't make money for going to bowl games. Bowl games make money for themselves. That's why there's so many. If anything, they will keep adding bowls and teams to D-1A so that more bowls can be added because more teams will be bowl eligible. Until schools start turning down bowl bids, they will keep adding more.
  22. I doubt it's Mack Brown's decision. It's probably the ADs. Both of their contracts probably give them bonuses for bowl appearances.
  23. Oh Rudy, you're hilarious. TFLF made a great post. So did Emmitt. +1s for you two. UT (the program) might make some money off of going to a bowl game, but I highly doubt they'll sniff the amount of whatever a bowl game might make off of them. The real money grubbers are the bowl games. Bowl presidents have already petitioned the NCAA to let 5-7 teams go, because of instances like this. UT and it's fans have so much money to spend, that a bowl game would have them if they were 0fers this year. You'll continue to see Mack Brown push for a bowl invite for his team, because his contract, his coaches contracts and probably the ADs contract have bonuses tied to bowl appearances. So on top of NT91s well delivered "F Ohio St", I'd like to add, F the BCS and all of the Bowl Games for milking these academic institutions and amateur athletes for all their worth and F the NCAA for letting it happen and not restoring the integrity to post season play.
  24. Aside from a stupid tech for slapping the back board, he was one of the 2 bright spots (the other is Odufuwa)in an otherwise poor 1st half. Then, for some reason, he wanted to pull up and test his range in the 2nd half. He's better down low, and can make teams pay from the stripe when drawing fouls. That's where his game is, and where he needs to take it.
  25. This is a good assumption because of how late his name appeared to be in the hat.
