  1. If ESPN is "Nationally Televised" then there are about 50-100 Nationally televised teams in the first week of college football. I saw a billboard on my way home today that proclaimed: "RICE vs Longhorns Exclusively on the Longhorn Network!" Is that "Nationally Televised"? Do you think Rice fans would have rather scheduled someone else so the fans that don't make the trip could watch on ESPN3 or FSN-SW?
  2. It depends really how long it takes to brew. Some can be ready in as little as a few weeks.
  3. Wife and I got one, address worked fine. Got a call within 3 days of entering her information, and the Assistant Ticket manager was extremely helpful.
  4. I know. Mike doesn't play for free tho. When you are that old and semi famous, you don't have to play for pennies. I wonder if the bird dogs don't make an appearance.
  5. Very Nice! Hope the brew tastes good.
  6. That is the case $10.00 cover. 10:00pm.
  7. No... you can drop off your stuff? Carry it? Meet someone over there? Students are a little more resourceful and creative than some of you give them credit for.
  8. I don't know that it was the Goldfields that made that donation. I think it was a Real Estate Tycoon in California.
  9. Not at all unhappy athletics didn't get any of this. after getting the stadium rights sold and season tickets and support in general trending upward, athletics will be just fine. The rest of the school rising in stature can do nothing but help athletics. It's a symbiotic relationship.
  10. From what I hear, you likely won't be disappointed with there those are.
  11. That's a lot of tickets.
  12. I was going to mention this. I know it sounds funny, but this Best Western is real nice.
  13. To be accurate, it's only that there won't be an invitation right now. Doesn't mean they don't want them, just not at this time. My guess is they have to line up other teams as well. This has all happened super quick.
  14. Ticketmaster shows 10am CST.
  15. It certainly is a terrible trade-off. I'm not saying it isn't, but who else is a good trade for A&M? If the other teams in the Big 12 are looking for an easier autobid, it just got easier. Also, Houston doesn't even support their local futbol team either. The Dynamo has the worst, if not, one of the worst attendance numbers in the MLS. Find me something that Houston does support outside of amateur competitive eating.
  16. Of course it's not the optimal solution. The optimal solution would have been the big 12 being the aggressor a while back to get to 16. Everyone knew and knows that's where this thing is going. The big 12 had the opportunity to add Houston and TCU last year to make 14. They had the opportunity to tell texas no LHN, but we are starting Big12 network talks with espn. The Big 12 conference has some poor leadership now and in the past, but they still understand that if they don't get teams to sign on to an already established autobid conference, then it will cease to exist all together. SEC will have 16 killer teams and their autobid will be worth just as much as the future Big 12 and Big East. Yea, they'll make more $$$ from a tv contract perspective, but if you are worried about competing for the chance to play in a BCS bowl, TCU has an equal or better chance than Florida of being in one. Getting Texas A&M out of the Big 12 sure improves everyone elses autobid chances in the Big 12. Whatever happens, I love following this stuff. It's like a soap opera for guys.
  17. The basketball Recruiting Forum is excellent. Tasty does a great job keeping things nice and clean over there for anyone who wants to follow efforts from first interest to commitment, to signing. We have some great sources who are willing to share what they know with the rest of us. If you haven't checked that place out, it's definitely worth some reads. You really can't find a better combined source of facts on who we are recruiting. Keep up the great work boys.

  18. I read it the same way you did. My first thought after the debt on the stadium is paid down a little more was the 2 projects mentioned on here. 1A. Baseball 1B. Indoor Practice facility With this summer it seems like those needs might be interchangeable. Why not combine the 2 needs into one facility and spend a little to save a little? Guaranteed to host a super regional.
  19. 1. That's a joke. 2. He's gay. He told me so the day I met him in a coffee shop after joining GMG.com.
  20. If the puppy didn't eat the ice cream, he'd eat your couch and then you'd have to worry about the ice cream melting. Do you realize how much pain you've caused me?
  21. Texas turned down that PAC10 invite because they wanted to start their own network and the PAC10 said it would be a conference network or nothing. Part of keeping the Big 12 together was allowing TLN. Beebe did every other team in the conference a disservice and the other schools gave it a try but are quickly becoming fed up with it and it hasn't even broadcast one game.
  22. I think you have to put OU in the same boat as A&M, although they have enough tradition and support to not have to be all that quick to react.. Any conference in the country would love to make room for OU if they decided to leave the BigXII-II. To the somewhat same to lesser extent A&M and Kansas. To think that a conference can exist without shares being equal is incredibly stupid and shortsighted. It's a wonder amateur football is even possible with the twisted bowl committees and leadership like that of Texas and Ohio State.
  23. You sound like a "UT guy" in your post. When ESPN and TLN try to tell other schools where to play and when to play it's gone a little too far. I have no problem with any school doing as much as they can to try not to put money into the others' pocket.
  24. So happy to have new people to bounce basketball ideas and thoughts off of. I like all three of these guys for different reasons. Alonzo - Wanted that championship more than anyone on the team and did his part from the bench while injured and ailing. Hogans - Had some really big offensive performances and got it rolling last year when the team needed him. It seemed that nothing was working offensively for a stretch last year and he proved he could step up and have big nights. Holmen - As said before, he really improved in his selection and basketball IQ last year in the short amount of playing time. I really like his shot, just not from beyond the arc. I'd really like to see him turn those shots into mid-range shots.
  25. You're right, it just wouldn't be apropos.
