  1. I don't follow the women's team that closely, but I do know they have the same record as the men now after dropping 4 straight. Having a leading scorer out to start league play is some cause for concern, I'd imagine.
  2. Like Nicholls? It's going to be a rough stretch with the injuries.
  3. Yea, Denver is good. I think we lose one to them, but I think Middle Tennessee might be better. They look real good. I'm glad we have them at home this year.
  4. For the most part, I thought our defense was pretty good. Justin Hamilton for them was hitting Dirk fadeaways over Tony. WTF? Nothing you can do about that.
  5. Something about us having the REAL Tony Mitchell. Not the Alabama Spare.
  6. Happy to see you found the basketball board. Welcome.
  7. The Super Pit is NOT owned by the athletic dept. Hard to spend money on something you don't own.
  8. Ditto. Can we move this to the Pwny board?
  9. Left off Alzee. This guy continues to play solid minutes. Good decision maker.
  10. Underrated.
  11. Not Really. The same posters have a nasty record of finger painting this forum with feces. Maybe they're just seeing what sticks. I have to admit, I'm less inclined to post when dingbats make LBBIQ statements. There's no point in responding. I try my hardest to ignore them. Damn it's hard sometimes.
  12. Whoa. Bold statement. A little too soon on that one, maybe?
  13. That's the rec center.
  14. Trey practiced too. Wonder if he's available for this game.
  15. Quitter is a term thrown around in sarcasm here these days.
  16. Is this any different from almost every HC job in America? If not, should it really be mentioned as a reason stAte got him? I think it's obvious why he went there. It's not the salary growth or that Ark. is his home state or that he gets a car and house allowance. It's that Ark. St. is lined up to be at or near the top of the belt for a while and that place worked out well for Freeze and Malzahn knows what he's getting into. Guy wants to win and have a shot to win wherever he goes. Nothing kills a head coaches coaching career quicker than losing.
  17. If I heard right, Mitchell can practice on the 17th provided all the skids are greased.
  18. He just got his first start as well.
  19. Looks like who JFK was to me.
  20. Like press?
  21. It seems like man-to-man helps get transition buckets and force turnovers. This leads to easy transition buckets and fast break offense. We also have some of the quickest and best guards at forcing turnovers in man defense. Many times, I feel like we have the better athletes. But I just made that up. It's not on a website I read.
  22. Calm yoself. It's ctrl-c, ctrl-v. From the book of Skiver. http://www.coachesclipboard.net/BasketballDefenses.html#zonedefense I'm not trying to be a jerk either Skiver, it's just all in the delivery.
  23. If that's not the most pompous post in the world I don't know what is. From your own link, I quote. Zone Defense Zone defense is different from man-to-man defense in that, instead of guarding a particular player, each zone defender is responsible for guarding an area of the floor, or "zone", and any offensive player that comes into that area. Zone defenders move their position on the floor in relationship to where the ball moves. Their are advantages and disadvantages of zone defenses. For example, you can often stop dribble-penetration and protect the paint with a 2-3 zone, but you give up some pressure on the outside. See "Zone Defense" for details. Zone defenses can be categorized based on the defensive "set" that you use (2-3, 1-2-2, 3-2, 1-3-1, etc). Rebounding out of a zone defense is also important. See Zone Defense Rebounding
  24. SHSU isn't a great offensive team, but defense wasn't our problem tonight. We couldn't score. Also, did you see our zone last year? It worked pretty well. Johnny uses zone, just not as exclusively as some would like, it seems.
  25. Niko came up big a couple times. He looked impressive.
