  1. He doesn't have a reason to. His head coach actually knows what it takes to win at this level.
  2. Make sure you are paying attention to road signs. It's not exactly a place you "run into", as much as it is a place you "pass through".
  3. So happy to be reminded of that play. That was a very big play.
  4. It's great as is. Don't make this thing any more complicated. It's simple, effective, fun.
  5. It's significant any way you slice it. It's a nationally televised game against a division, conference and in state foe at home.
  6. Wasn't just rain there. Check this out: http://www.nbcdfw.com/news/local/Tornado-Touches-Down-In-Denton-County-227529161.html
  7. The most impressive thing about the defense this year has been tackling. Open field, one on one, our guy almost always makes the tackle. That stuff doesn't go unnoticed. Buyers has been the guy that has most impressed me.
  8. The defensive bench was milling about and heard it and all started looking around, smiling and watching. Was cool that they got into that.
  9. I'm almost positive, they wouldn't start turning students away if those allocated student sections were full. We need more fans of any kind. It'd be really nice to just have a walk up crowd that has no affiliation whatsoever.
  10. I thought it was under a tarp or tent in the corner of the end zone. I also seem to remember jub mentioning he was concerned about getting shocked from all the water and electrical equipment mixing.
  11. Sweet. Hope it holds off. 30% here. http://www.nbcdfw.com/weather/stories/NBC-5-Forecast.html
  12. While I hope you are correct, I haven't seen 20% anywhere.
  13. So I will see you sitting at the top corner of the wing end zone structure, right?
  14. "We're a small school" - compare the enrollment of Oklahoma, texas tech etc...
  15. I've seen 40-60 percent chances of rain and or thunderstorms in the day an evening. Something to keep an eye on.
  16. The people listening to what he is saying on a weekly coaches show are not the people to be begging to attend. It's the people not listening that need coach Mac and the team to make them sit up and pay attention by winning. I bring as many people as I can that I think would enjoy the game. Factors to the enjoyment of the game for a non coaches show listener: - A blow out win for NT - A close win for NT - A competitive game between NT and a recognizable opponent - Good weather (100+ deg is miserable for a lot of non die hards, I left a TCU game early this year - It was easy- they were playing like crap against a d1aa school, it was hot and uninteresting.) - Friends at the game
  17. I can't even blame play calling. You clean up the penalties and the stupid little mistakes that were forced or unforced, and we win. Not by a little either. The run game has been non existent the entire season and that won't change anytime soon in the middle of a season. There's just something wrong there. It's the lack of focus and attention to detail and execution on the road across the board that we've seen for many seasons now still plaguing this team. It's as much coaching as anything else.
  18. Really? We let up 14 points when we had the ball. The blocked fg alone was a potential 10 point swing. We were kind of close to letting up 21 points on the other int. And that doesn't include the 2 fumbles that were recovered, 1 for a touchdown by ybarbo. Are we that careless with the ball? I don't think our defense lost it even though they had some penalties at bad times. Give their defense some credit. We never had a lead, we played from behind the entire time. At no time was there a lead to protect on defense, they were trying to make stops and get the ball back to the offense, so that maybe instead of turning it over, they could go score. We absolutely have to take better care of the ball when we have it. Mac ball won't work any other way. If you can blame our defense for those things, you should credit theirs for doing that to our offense.
  19. I think it was a team effort. Plenty of blame to go around in this one, not unlike most recent road games.. And Thompson shouldn't be excused. Throwing a pick 6 and another int isn't out playing Montana. The defense getting the personal fouls to sustain drives was very disappointing.
  20. My Take (I didn't get to watch this one): Reading just this thread I expected th pass/run ratios to be more different from what they show up as in the statistics. The Game Split Pass/Run was about 44/20. 1st Half: 13/12 2nd Half: 31/8 1st Down Total Pass/Run: 20/9 1st Half: 4/5 2nd Half: 16/4 2nd Down Total Pass/Run: 12/7 1st Half: 3/5 2nd Half: 9/2 Not a bad split considering you'd like to keep things fairly balanced until halftime when you make adjustments and already have a good idea of what's working and what isn't. However, I too, would like to see us with a game plan that is less reactionary and balanced, and maybe more aggressive from the start when you consider how many games we've been playing from behind in. I think we have a good indication of the makeup of our team this year. It's safe to say we won't have any national rushing champions on our roster. 20 Runs all game: 5 for negative yds (2 of those negative because of holding) 5 were for no gain Our longest run also happened to be the only one over 10 yds; It was for 12 yds near the end of the 3rd qtr. I'd say we only really had around 5 running plays that would have kept us ahead of the chains. We had 13 possessions in this game. 10 started with passes, 3 were runs. All 3 of those were in the first half. 3 of the 6 possessions in the first half were 3 and outs. (1 of those began with a run, the other 2; passes) 2 of those 3 had 0 yds on first downs thanks to penalties. 1 Series in the first half was 6 runs in a row before having to punt. It was the only time we obtained a first down conversion with a run. 1 3 and out in the second half. The Obvious: The Pick 6 was killer, The blocked FG was killer At one point in the 2nd half, we ran 3 straight running plays with 1 yd to pick up at the goalline: A good line/TEs could get 1 yd for the back in 3 tries A good back could get 1 yd for the line in 3 tries A combination of a so-so line/TEs and a so-so back could probably get 1 in 3 tries Something is really wrong here. O-Line/TEs: This is where Emmitt's argument holds up. Who blocks on FGs? Who makes sure their QB has enough time to make an accurate throw and not take a hit right after release? Who makes sure that backs have at least a 2 yd pickup? It's a common denominator. I'd have to say that I think O-Line is probably the least regarded position on the field. They are hidden from credit when good and first to take blame when a QB gets sacked. Because of this and the physicality, concentration, and technique it requires, it's probably the toughest position on offense to play, and the toughest to recruit for because they must fit into a cohesive unit. I have a large amount of respect for anyone that plays the position. However, I'm afraid that unit as a whole, did not live up to their preseason expectations in this game and for a couple halves to far in other games this season. They were supposed to be a strength. I know we are getting the box stacked against us. There's still little reason for negative and no yardage plays half of the time.
  21. This is cool. Hope a thread like this happens for every away game. Any chance at getting some captions so we know what we're looking at? Is that bar the official party place for mean green fans?
  22. We better hope utsa beats Marshall. It will make us look better when we beat utsa.
  23. Put a helmet on the ball and pop it loose.
  24. I don't know if you have personal reasons for saying that, but they are in our conference. I was hoping they could have beat houston.
