Some girls no older than freshmen (maybe high schoolers) not wearing anything unt were walking from the loud music on the victory mall and asked our group who won after the game. We all just looked at them and kept walking. Frustrating.

One of the top defenses in the nation
MeanMag replied to Tyler Maryak's topic in Mean Green Football
They had a couple of opportunities that were missed. The missed pick in the end zone and buyers missed pick, which would have been his first of 2. Other than that; not bad at all. Really nice little defense we got working here. -
I don't think so, yet. If they can make the championship game and win it, you're right.

If every student on campus were half as charged as mean greener is, we wouldn't have to worry about attendance.

Man I agree. I saw people drive golf carts across the grass in the rain in front of the athletic complex before and after a game with a perfectly nice wide sidewalk right there. There are now the muddy ruts in the grass lawn I was always accustomed to seeing as a student in the early 2000s. I'm not an A&M nazi about not walking on grass, but a little pride with some common sense isn't too much to ask? In general, campus has gotten better since the 2000s.

Doh! Got the sections mixed. I guess they didn't lie to micahgb after all. I guess I did...

I would also think that the hand checking puts a premium on defensive alignment and positioning. Getting and keeping position on defense would be easier with quick guard play on the defensive end?

Typically you will not be able to find allotments of the MGC requirement section seats, visitor allotment seats and student section seats on Ticketmaster. So, using ticketmaster as a guide to which sections are sold out, or how many more remaining is kind of a crap shoot in my opinion.

I called after you did and got 4 extrasin 104... My seats are in 103 and they're sold out, so I had to settle for 104.

SI predicts NT to play Texas State...Please NO!
MeanMag replied to SouthBendGreen's topic in Mean Green Football
Who do the players want to play in a bowl game? That's what I want. I want our players to be rewarded for a great season and to prove their meddle and seasonal improvement on the field so that the seniors feel as accomplished as the possibly could feel before walking off that field one last time. Something tells me texas state would not be in that fairytale, but I still think our players would crack some heads. -

Great first posts. This is why all current students should make a trip to a bowl game.

Early attendance observation
MeanMag replied to ChristopherRyanWilkes's topic in Mean Green Football
What many students now have to understand about the alumni who do not normally come to games is there is a reason they aren't coming and it's not just that it is Halloween. The people who normally come but had kid obligations, work etc. aren't the ones I'm talking about either. I'm talking about the alumni who never went to games as students, and there are a ton of them. There was no reason for them to get hooked. There was no reason to make it part of their routine during football season. I work with a ton of UNT alumns. Most all of the UNT alumns I work with have graduate degrees from somewhere other than North Texas. Mostly from TCU. These people have season tickets to TCU. I've been trying to get them to UNT games, but it is difficult. Their routine is now loyalty to another school. It's going to take more than 5-6 wins. It will take longer than a couple years to get people like that to come. It might take more than 9-10 wins for a couple of years for some. Some might just be lost all together. It will be hard to ask someone that age with those obligations already mentioned to start a new routine. Some will. It's not a lost cause, and I will continue to offer. What happened in the early 2000's has kept a lot of alumni my age around. What is happening now with the students is the best thing that could happen to a program. The best advice I can give to students is to take advantage of the fun that this season is. Ask friends to come to the games and go to the bowl game. Good god, go to the bowl game as a student. Sleep 5 to a room. Squeeze into cars, pick up an extra shift. Do whatever it is you have to do to go to a bowl game as a student and take your friends with you. You will make lifelong memories that will include North Texas Football, and that is tougher to forget for alumni in the future. I give them crap for it, but It is the reason that the alumni older than me on this board still talk about Hayden Fry and Tennessee and Texas in '88. Do not worry about alumni attendance, worry about having fun as a student at the games. That pays off bigger for the future of a program than worrying about alumni attendance.- 45 replies

To my knowledge it was just replaced, which is why we can actually hear them now. The problem is now the gain and feedback from the speakers. In some of the other games it's been working fantastic. The system is fine, they just need to control the levels.

Leaving Downtown Ft. Worth at about 4pm

Race traffic won't kick up until the weekend. You're good. It's Thursday. -
They did. They said the same thing about Montana, which also has a medicinal provisions in their state law. http://www.flatheadbeacon.com/articles/article/medical_marijuana_raids_result_in_12_convictions/27656 Much ado about nothing. If they would go ahead and legalize it and tax it there would be no reason for people to act shocked when they discover pot around a college or a football team.

The use, possession and distribution of weed is federally illegal. Even in states where it is legal, it is possible to be arrested by federal marshals.

Forgot to add: I'd much rather be heading from Fort Worth at 4:00 than Dallas. You're closer distance wise and it's more smooth sailing after western center. -

Ya OGS, I still go that way on basketball weekday games from west Fort Worth. Listen to huff. If you can get north of 820 or at least to meachem before getting on 35w you will do yourself a favor. Since I'm on the west side of loop 820 I usually just take that north to the 35w exit. It can be bad, but it is minimized. Do not get on 35w heading north from 30. You will hate yourself. -
Less of him getting our goat I think and more of us getting his goat on our board. It surprises me that it surprises him that people would talk like they are about UTSA on here, of all places. I guess he's not used to how this message board stuff works. Where are the cool UTSA fans that were here a year ago? This guy doesn't make points and isn't even funny. What is he doing here?
-
I was kind of thinking it was us trolling him on our own board. Hilarious.

Southlake Coach Hal Wasson letting UNT use their indoor facility

I thought this was a legitimate question. Don't let the haters get you down. Some people are just always looking for something negative to say. -
Then only one side could see the TV. There's really only one answer: More TVs.
