There is too much talent for 60 teams to be able to take on, unless they plan on changing the rules so much to allow playing 15 people on each side of the ball.
-
Same. Might not make them all, but wouldn't mind trying.

Someone doesn't know what they are talking about.

Residents voice concerns over proposed convention center, hotel
MeanMag replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
I'm going to say this and then duck for cover. I like having empty space there, and wouldn't mind seeing it left that way. BUT... if it's inevitable, I hope it looks real nice and still leaves room for the kids to drink their pabst. -
Blast your research.

If Chris is 1/2 the player Zach is, they got a good one.

Athlon predicts UNT v Marshall in champ game
MeanMag replied to pastorgrant's topic in Mean Green Football
In the past 10 seasons, the one in which we won 9 games was unthinkable. Deciding to finally hold someone (an offensive guy?) responsible for some of the worst defenses I've ever watched before Mac got here is a little strange to me. -

That's what I don't understand. Put the pressure on Chico and the offense, because you're nervous about the defense and special teams not doing their job? Baffling. -

That's not an opinion. That's a fact. -
Athlon predicts UNT v Marshall in champ game

HAHAHAHA. Not exactly. No one here gets it apparently. We won 9 games last year with that offense. How many times has that happened in history? We scored 414 points last season. They weren't all offensive, but let me know how many years we've come close to that mark in school history. If you ask me, Chico might be the best offensive coordinator we've ever had at this school. And people are talking about firing him? Are you shitting me? -
MGB: Breaking news -- UNT's Chris Jones to transfer
MeanMag replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Basketball
If we were being technical, I'd say "most" is probably an assumption and not a very technical word. Mean green club support goes to all scholarship athletes and presumably coaches salaries. Technically, they've been supporting the basketball program the entire time? -
The students on the basketball team have my support the same as other teams on campus. I donate to the MGC. I admire your positivity, but don't share it. If the team wants me to show up regularly at games, they, the coaches and the athletic department has to earn it. It's a long drive from where I live on a weekday. Been willing to make it the past several years, and may be willing to make it again. But, it's time to give up that hassle, for now. I'll keep up and read about it in the paper and on this board, but I no longer need to watch in person to know where the problems lie.

I will not be renewing season tix. Might make a couple of games and buy walkup, but probably not. Seems like Tony Mitchell was here 5 years ago and Tristan Thompson and Josh White and George Odufuwa were here 15 years ago. This drop off has been quick.
-
But 2 posts earlier you were ready for the coaching staff to make room for him to come in and be Seneca Wallace.

How many people on here are Recent Grads?
MeanMag replied to Eddie Delgado's topic in Mean Green Football
I graduated '07, but we are in the last year of the recent grad plan under the wife's grad date. Already renewed for the new season. -

The way Benford recruits, we will always have lots seniors and juniors. You know what doesn't get better with time? Seniors.
-
Yes, but he's not the one worrying with off season click traffic?

This is exactly how I felt about it. Their offense was able to move chains, convert and control the ball with intermediate passes. They did the same things against Oklahoma State earlier in the year, and knowing our defense, it was plain to see we were going to have trouble. Only one other conference team that was able to score more points against us than UTSA was Tulane (24). It didn't look to me like the play calling was bad all day, just that Chico wasn't able to get through the last half of our offensive game plan, because of UTSA or because of ourselves. Yes, that's on Chico. However, I like his offense. Last year was the best offensive output I've ever seen from this team as long as I've followed them. I cannot call it bumbling. It is a calculating and pragmatic approach to play calling and it makes a lot of sense to me.

An honest question regarding Benford and Johnny Jones
MeanMag replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Basketball
Todd Dodge wasn't that bad considering the things he had to deal with according to the thread I read on the football forum. Either Johnny Jones wasn't that good or Benford isn't that bad if I understand this thread correctly. -
I don't debate any other point in your story. This one is false. I don't know if they even passed once in the 2nd half. Worst game I've ever been to. Coach Mac and his staff certainly have been refreshing. It's nice to have a commitment to someone who knows wtf is going on.
-
I'm not sure what you just said. Tulane is a big boy school?

Success, accomplishment, confidence and achievement in the classroom directly translates to performance on the football field. Making good grades makes everyone feel better about abilities in other areas.
