  1. - If you want to see UNT run the triple option, he's your guy. - Maybe he can turn us into Army one day... - Vote for him if you want to run more. - He's blazing trails with this new offense called "the option". Wave of the future, I tell ya.
  2. This thread is in very poor taste, but I shouldn't be surprised considering who started it. There are players that are better than others. Say that you support DW and leave it at that. It is not McNulty or DWs fault that MacCarney doesn't bow to the will of the great Skiver/Andrew. Why talk bad about them?
  3. George just mentioned this was a poor shooting night for the mean green, but it appears it's just a poor shooting night for Jordan Williams. 5/17 - wow. Still scored 21 so far. Mostly on free throws.
  4. I know our QB situation is not all that is wrong, but I remember another metroplex QB that was not great his second year. I don't see what goes on in practice. We are going to turn the ball over. Yes, it is stupid to think that Dajon WIlliams will be as good as Trevone Boykin, but how do we know? Some QBs are not good when they first hit the field. Trevone Boykin: http://espn.go.com/college-football/player/_/id/517127/trevone-boykin Dajon Williams http://espn.go.com/college-football/player/_/id/549918/dajon-williams Andrew McNulty http://espn.go.com/college-football/player/_/id/515147/andrew-mcnulty
  5. You want to pass more? With a spread/run and gun? I hear June jones is available.
  6. You left out a Rice team that we caught that was rising. They had won 5 straight until they ran into us.
  7. You mentioned we have no rhythm and consistency on offense. If you would leave it at that you would know the solution to your problem is to develop rhythm and consistency, not change offense. Also, all of you people saying we only run, apparently didn't watch last year when were as balanced as you could be, and had one of the best years on offense anyone can remember. The same guys coaching did that. We need more play makers.
  8. You are kidding, right? http://espn.go.com/college-football/team/schedule/_/id/249/year/2008/north-texas-mean-green
  9. We keep saying that the offensive game plans bore us to tears, but play-makers can still bring excitement in a boring offense. We don't have any/many. Not enough to make it exciting anyhow. I'm not a fan of flipping back and forth between offensive schemes and Dodge has soured me on the idea of passing it around a lot. Someone in another thread mentioned we should be skipping field goals and punts when we are behind by 4 TDs. I remember when we did just that... It ended with losing to Oklahoma 79-10 and Rice 77-20. Admittedly, I still have a bunch of scar tissue from the Dodge years.
  10. http://www.bcftoys.com/
  11. You said specifically, that the university is incapable of finding solutions to increase the donations it gets.
  12. Really happy for that guy. Some people never recover fully from something like that.
  13. It was better. At one time, they shared their data. EDIT: Sorry, I was thinking of cfbstats.com
  14. You are right. The University just should not try harder to reconnect with lost alumni to get them to donate.
  15. Some universities have more advantages than others. http://www.texasalmanac.com/topics/education/beginnings-university-texas-and-texas-am-university Initially, the interest earned by investments of the oil money from university lands went to the University only. However, in 1931, the legislature split the net income, with two-thirds going to the University of Texas and one-third to Texas A&M University. The income was further split in 1984, when the legislature voted to include all institutions in the University of Texas System, not just the main university at Austin, and the entire Texas A&M University System.
  16. Yea, thinking about that makes me feel a lot better about how this season is unfolding.
  17. When we start completing passes to people other than Carlos Harris and opponents, I can see our offensive game plan changing.
  18. Be competitive in every game you play. There is nothing worse than getting blown out. Limiting turnovers is a start.
  19. Bradley also had scholarship offers from Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Memphis, Alcorn State and Arkansas State.
  20. Thanks CMJ. This is a really good post too. I've always wondered about those places..
  21. He told you what he's experienced. High School coaches don't believe that North Texas is serious about football after hiring high school coaches. Other High School coaches are unhappy with their high school coaching friends being fired for sucking at North Texas. Their displeasure and their parents' rub off on impressionable young teenage minds. He's not starting with neutral, open minds, like UTSA is. He's starting in a negative position Even Texas State's Franchione can command some type of respect with parents. Hell, we STILL have family members of current players coming on this board to act like we fans and MGC members owe their family a big damn favor for coming to UNT to let us pay for their family members' education and pursuit of a dream because "UNT has a reputation." What happened to the guys who are just happy and humble enough to be here? Sometimes I think we ought to field an all walk-on team or pull a scholly for someone who has a family member post stupid shit on this board. Maybe then we'd get more Kenny Buyers, Sarge McCoy, Chris Hurd and Casey Fitzgerald type motors. Trice seemed happy as hell to land here and be able to hit people legally and he's a guy who had a taste of bigger programs. I'm more than happy to give my money to the kids and family members that want to be here. To be honest, I don't really care who our coach is (even this year), as long as he doesn't come from a high school. In fact, I'd prefer my coaches and even diet coke boys came from National Championship winning college football staffs. He seems to be really upset with the type of mental and motivational lethargy that appears to have crept into some of the players. Perhaps all of his comments are meant to motivate those players if he's tried everything else and they aren't responding. I could get behind that. He already apologized to the fans after the loss and said he was embarrassed. He truly expects better out of these guys than what he's getting, and I think he's taking responsibility for that. How many people were upset with the US mens national team coach for saying they wouldn't make it out of pool play before the World Cup even started? It's an indirect shot to the motivation of players.
  22. I expected a decline in production this year. I didn't expect this. However, this is still better than Dodge, Ben Gooding. The one thing I heard about UNT after hiring McCarney from non-UNT fans was, "I guess North Texas decided to get serious about who they hire." I've never heard that before, and I haven't heard many people get the respect McCarney has among people who know college football and college football coaches. The dude is connected. Sometimes the truth hurts, but he knows what has to be done. I'm in full support of Coach Mac and the MGF until he gives me a reason not to be. This isn't it, and some of you guys are wearing a chip on your shoulder that I hope the players are too.
  23. Whoever the QB coach is must be doing a terrible job. I mean how is the offensive coordinator supposed to work with that?
  24. Either of those records will be a minor miracle. We will be struggling to end this season with a middling record. To me, it's all about seein improvement from this point forward. UAB has proven what we have this season. A team that can't get it together.
  25. it probably gets more use on the basketball board.
