Why does everyone who doesn't want to see Dickey gone this year have to listen to this argument? NO ONE ACCEPTS LOSING. Just because I don't think Dickey should get fired after this year, I must like to accept getting our butts whipped to Tulsa and La Tech and La State and FAU... I'm sorry plumm, but if that's what you are saying, I can't see any validity to your point. It might be that I am missing the point too, there's a lot of words in that post. I might have missed something.

I watched the WMU/NIU game... and NIU may, I really like that team right now, and they have been getting quality wins over D1 opponents.

DMN blurb: NT to decide on QB starter this week
MeanMag replied to OldTimer's topic in Mean Green Football
My conspiracy theory- The Diet Coke guy has been calling plays and running the team all season long, whispering sweet nothings into Dickeys ear. It's also rumored that he has been spiking the Diet Coke with Daniel Meager love juice. I expect if we don't get a new Diet Coke guy next season that we could have the same performance next year. Maybe Eric Pegram would like to fill in. Honestly, Eric Pegram would make a fine addition to our coaching staff. -
Does that kid have downs?

You're right, I honestly think our defensive problems come from the DL not being able to get pressure and flush the pocket and create havoc in the backfield. We really only need one big playmaker to step up on the line. During those times we had Awasom and Kennedy both there, both capable of drawing double and triple teams to free other defenders.

Thanks for that 1855 It's interesting I really haven't paid attention to the margins, I just consider a loss a loss. Some will hate me for this comment and I almost hate myself for it, but for how many young people we have on the team right now, I don't think we are very far from turning those around.

Actually, at UNT was implied. He said coaching HERE is where he belonged. It was an easy word to pass over because he said it quickly, but I heard it, and I know I wasn't hearing things. Because I immediately thought, "he said here... that's interesting". I even commented to my coworker who is a UNT alumn.

I dunno about everyone else, but I was taught when I was a wee lad to not throw $#!T. I don't get why it's such a big issue. Stop throwing stuff. It's simple.

You all can thank tailgating and the great atmosphere and fun that comes with a game. If we were to ever get rid of tailgating, there would be almost no reason to watch this season.
-
If you listened carefully he mentioned he belongs HERE, Coaching. Dunno if I'm for handing over the buick keys to him yet, but an OC position should be opening soon in my opinion.

All, we're talking about working around is offense. What about the defense? They surely need to find a leader next season and what is the biggest + on defense from this year? We really aren't getting burned on the corners nearly as much as we were in the past this season, but is that only because the interior is weaker than in years past?

Korey Washington was a QB in highschool right? Is there a reason they moved him to LB and not at QB and has he been playing regularly this season? Did they even try him out at QB in practice? Haven't really payed that much attentention.

The only problem I have with building around the QB, is our QB. I don't think Meager is a leader. In fact, I am very hard pressed to find someone on this team this season that shows leadership we can build around. In a perfect world you're right QB should be what we build around. It helps to have a rushing champion in the backfield.

http://www.gotroytrojans.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3335 http://middletennessee.rivals.com/showmsg....23&sid=&style=2 I see a pattern... Maybe we'll end up trading coaches between the 3 of us I'll keep Dickey if that happens. BTW read some of the other topics on their board, they look to be the same as ours. Even a post with www.fireDD.com. If it weren't for the colors and names of posters, I would think I was looking at gomeangreen.com

from ESPN website The Sun Belt Conference probably won't have a team with more than six wins this season, but that won't prevent at least one conference member from having a banner year. With two weeks to play, Arkansas State, Louisiana-Monroe and Louisiana-Lafayette are in a three-way battle for the Sun Belt title and a berth in the New Orleans Bowl (to be played in Lafayette, La., this season because of Hurricane Katrina). It will be the first bowl appearance in school history for whichever team emerges as champion, and that will certainly make the 2005 season worth celebrating.

...and losing, no thanks WAC

Sweeping generalization I don't think anyone is a DD apologist. Just some people don't want to see him leave after 1 bad year. I am included. I guess I don't contribute to the fan base as greatly as the others, but I'm not the one to brag about what I do. I'll be sure to let you know the next time i purchase season tix and merchandise. In fact maybe we should make a thread about it. The reason we seem outnumbered on posts in threads might be because we are outnumbered on posts or threads. I don't want to post in every single thread that we don't need to fire Dickey. And, I sure as hell don't want to take the time to fix what isn't broken (yet). And, FOR SURE, don't want to make a website about my opinion. Now, that you have another "DD apologist post" you have something else to Bi#$H, and flame about. Edit: I think that website makes a mockery of our school

Scoff all you want, I scoffed the year Jason White won the heisman. When was the last time the heisman went to anyone that was amazing in the NFL? A case can be made for Ricky Williams, but who beyond that? In my opinion the heisman goes to the best player that means the most to his team. On a team like USC and 3 players from there that deserve heisman hype, I think Vince Young means more to UT than one of those 3 from USC. UT would be very good without Vince Young, but not as good. He is an amazing leader. Watch him get on his team and fire them up when they need it. Would they be where they are without him? Maybe, leaders tend to rise to power when there is a lack of leadership. Which brings me to my next question. Who is the leader on UNT this year?

Lets wait to see really how good UTEP can continue to be before we want to be like them. I'm not saying they won't be good, nor that they haven't been recently. The last thing I want is for us to copy another west texas school. Dickey deserves more time.

We're with unfamiliar/familiar company, NMSU, Idaho, and Utah State get mentions as well.

Wow, didn't realize that would confuse. I guess a losing season bring over analyzation to a new level. I was just referencing other schools, (BYU), (RICKS), as other schools in the middle of nowhere with religious private funding, thus providing a religious reason for going into the sticks. ND could be included if SouthBend is as boring and in the middle of nowhere as I am told it is. (never been through there). I can't see a reason to drive to the middle of the desert, outside of Las Vegas, to go to school (outside of a private school religious reason) when you can get a better education in a better location. (Texas Tech included) Again, my opinion. And a reason why I went to UNT. I have tons of friends that went to Tech and they said outside of drinking everynight and getting in trouble there really isn't much to do around Lubbock. Try to get a Florida kid to go to Lubbock, I bet it's tough. Are there lots of homers here who kept up with A&M more, and seeing them as looking more foolish?

Eagle-96, don't think I don't feel bad for the people who lost their lives, but they were asking for trouble when they stand logs on end that high. And I can find something to do every night of the week in the metroplex, just not nearly as fun as said activities. It just doesn't have the same lifestyle or nightlife as other areas. Great place to work though.
