  1. What is your deal? Why in the world would you think RV conrtols this board? It's really quite amusing.
  2. I would agree with you if after last year he made the adjustments to the personel. He had good reason to fire our OC after he tore into the stands to antagonize and fight with a fan/donor. It honestly seems like he doesn't care to continue the type of football he had going during that 26 game conf. win streak. There are some on this board that would even say that win streak means/meant nothing. To me, it meant a lot, but doesn't mean anything now because when we were playing and beating those conf. teams we had a let down somewhere along the line and weren't able to build off of any of that momentum. The type of energy that was on the sideline during that era was either provided by his players, or one of the assistant coaches that have since moved on/up (DeLoach perhaps). The energy is now non existent, and it is unacceptable. I wouldn't mind seeing the same thing happen here that happened in Troy to be honest. But if Dickey has a problem switching OL and OC coaches, then he must go too.
  3. I for one, think it is rediculous, sickening and almost offensive for Dickey to say this about his own players, when he is the one that recruited them. What is he thinking bringing them in here if he isn't ready to give them the vote of confidence they need to be competetive like that? I didn't feel like this at the time I heard it, but the more I think about it the more it really kind of doesn't make any kind of sense whatsoever.
  4. Henderson, along with the rest of the line has shown the ability to miss blocks consistently.
  5. DeLoach would definately bring the attitude I am looking for from our Mean Green. Neuhiesel is a possibility too And Applewhite has to be the most intriguing name in this thread.
  6. Damn, I guess the PSP on the sidelines lies. Time to find a new playbook.
  7. I disagree with too much blame being put on the defense. Think, if you will, back to the days of Brandon Kennedy, Chris Hurd, Jonas Buckles, Don McGee, and Brad Kassell. These were all guys that had no problem laying a smack to somebody. Hell, they even got excited about it. Our defense is playing soo timid, not wanting to give up a big play, that they can't make big plays themselves. They are araid to hit people and are afraid to get caught out of position too much to play aggresive. The D-line is getting no pressure and yes, they are bad. Do you remember those days? The days of being ranked in the top 10 in the nation consistently? I can't believe we didn't keep DeLoach, we should have made every effort to keep a man that had us tops in the nation in every statistical category he could control. I remember in 2001 wanting the offense to get off the damn field and getting the defense back out there all game long because they, 1. Had more of a chance of scoring 2. Were just so much more fun to watch than the offense As for Meager being a starter next week because he played well, it's BS. I'd rather someone get out there and not screw up, than have someone out there who can't manage clock, timeouts, and sometimes he just looks totally lost on what play they are running. Total lack of confidence. The upside is on a couple of plays (2) there was a pocket for him to step up into and throw, and he did, and one play was completed and the other was horribly overthrown into a defender.
  8. The way they were talking on the radio we would be lucky to have him back in 2-3 weeks. So, doing this would not be advisable.
  9. I hope you're joking, I thought that comment was kind of dumb. He can do better.
  10. LOL, it is a little off-color and classless by flying red tortilla. But, damn, that's funny as hell Quoner.
  11. Do the other conferences use the ESPN and network feeds?
  12. Haha, isn't that the truth? I hear he pretends to be an economist sometimes too.
  13. I'm not quite sure I understand your post. But, the point of mine is that TV program is not solely based on what viewers want to see/hear. It is not devoid of bias or personal opinion. They don't give me what I want to hear, and a lot of times it is because they think it is what the majority wants to see/hear, based on their own perceptions/opinions, however misguided they may be. TV producers and decision makers are a funny breed. A lot of times they just throw crap out there and see what sticks by watching those great people meters that tell them how much they can charge for commercial airtime.
  14. No, The news in general covers what people that work there would want to see and hear if they were at home watching. And that includes the teams they care about... Personally though, just what does the Tasty Greek know about television anyway?
  15. LOL, i was thinking the same thing. I spent more time looking at that guy's sig than I did reading the whole thread.
  16. LOL, I doubt Rick would do it. And...Unless that lady could fund a brand spanking new stadium, I wouldn't expect that to change. Hell if that lady funded a new stadium, I'd hope they'd give her a sky box that was enclosed so we didn't have to hear her and she didn't have to hear us.
  17. Well, if Fly Like an Eagle being played 40 times a game is a tradition, then I'd like to crap on it. Most annoying song ever. I don't think I'd mind it if it were played 1-2 times a game. It sounds bush league to play it so much. And, as much as I love/support the school/team and some of the traditions, I will admit that I don't particularly care for our fight song either. Sorry if I am hurting your feelings by saying that Rick. I just feel that we could do better being a music school, and that sometimes change is a good thing, especially if it is something that works.
  18. Well, since it looks like no one else is biting... I will. Tell us what happened 20 years ago that we should all know about that leads you to believe that we have not progressed since then.
  19. Wake, I thought would win that game before it even started. They might be the most underrated team in the nation, and before last weekend nobody knew how good they were. And they weren't ranked.. at 5-0... They had something to prove. They came into that game undefeated with wins over Syracuse, Duke, UConn, Ole Miss and Liberty. While none of those teams are ranked world beaters, they are decently big name schools and they didn't lose to one of them when it would have been easy to have a let down at least one week in there. Meanwhile, we had losses to Akron, MTSU, and Tulsa. And the games weren't even close. You don't just expect to upset somebody on any given saturday. Winning is a habit, and if it's not part of a regiment and not addictive, then asking why we can't upset someone huge is a silly question when we can't even take care of business at a lower level. It is even more important to win on the level that we are on before begging to upset someone out of nowhere.
  20. Good find LongJim. If that doesn't say they're serious about winning, I don't know what does.
  21. That is sad. It's sad that you have become so vendictive toward Dickey that you will not show one shread of hope towards "YOUR" team winning the Belt. It's sad that you don't remember the team going 0-4, 0-5, and running the table. It's sad that you give up so easily, and it's utterly pathetic that after so long of supporting your team, you are so quick to crush the hopes of other fans, players and coaches. I can't say that I know you, and for that I apologize, but to be a fan doesn't mean to cheer for a loss against any team. A loss sets our program a hell of a lot further back than Dickey and the team getting a second wind.
  22. Those are exactly the type of people this university needs to convert. If they are in the parking lot, they have to somewhat care and have a good time. Maybe if they realize what they are missing they will come inside. I would be more upset with the ones that don't even bother to show up at all.
  23. only friday scrim is open to staff, students, and faculty from 5-7pm i think.
  24. Better than feeling like a Cubs fan...
