  1. I love Sun Belt and Cox, but let's be real...I think we could use a step up from both. Quoner- find us a new league and a better Cox. Edit: If we vote enough times will Cox fall in my lap, or will the sun belt become a "legit" league?
  2. Is that Eric Murphy second from the right there? Mohr-Cox wedding...
  3. No Quoner, I have my presumptions about you, but if I were married to Nikki Cox, I'd like to think I could find something more reproductive to do with my time.
  4. I seriously have a problem with FIU and FAU. Change your freaking names. Change your freaking colors. Change your Uniforms. I always get them mixed up. FAU could change to just 'Atlantic' and it would be better than what they are now. If it weren't for a coworker graduating from FIU, I would have never known that they actually built it on an old airport in Miami and actually have a freaking huge enrollment. I have no idea what city FAU is in. Seriously, Which one fought with Miami last year? I'm guessing it's FIU since they are in Miami too. If it weren't for that fight, they are both anonymous to the rest of the nation. Are they public schools? (I didn't even realize Miami was private either until last year FWIW.) How many football schools are in Florida now? Miami, FSU, USF, FIU, FAU, FU? Am I leaving anyone out? Is there another FU something I am leaving out? USF just started football not too long ago. One of the F_U schools just started not too long ago I think. If I were a recruit of F_U in Florida I would be worried about the other schools slipping papers in front of me with the I and the A interchanged. At any rate, for a conference that shares much of the same footprint with the SEC, we should be able to be a little more competitive than we are now. I know that last year went a long way, but it needs to happen regularly.
  5. So what you are selling is Penis Mightiers?
  6. "Do you know what Al Goldfield looks like? Jim McInvale? Denny Kalk? Curtis Clinesmith? I've spoken to three of the four at randon practices and scrimmages in blue jeans, t shirts and old ball caps. Could you pick them out of a crowd? Most couldn't, and possibly neither of those policing the stands could either." Rick, I am glad you can pick these folks out in a crowd. But to expect people to automatically know who you are because you have a lot of money (or not) doesn't really seem fair. This is America, and there are many many rich folks and donors. I think maybe this whole deal is getting blown out of proportion by what NT80 posted earlier. Those who have the means ($$$) to see practice will see practice one way or another. If that means contacting RV before going, then that is what they must do. But to expect someone running security to automatically recognize your face at the first scrimmage of the year under a new coaching staff is somewhat pompous. I disagree with flyer though, those who give big to this program should have a more lenient policy, but to not expect to get turned away from a closed practice is a little crazy, especially when it is posted on the official athletics website before hand.
  7. exactly the game i had in mind when i posted.
  8. I just hope that those three broken tackles weren't because of piss poor tackling... or it could be a long season.
  9. That's funny...
  10. So, this might be a dumb question... but here goes... are the arm bands a part of the uniform? Or are they optional?
  11. It's not just UT fans and coaches that should be upset about this. All Texans should. When any University in the state gets in trouble for this we should be angry and embarrassed as Texans, especially STATE FUNDED universities, and especially the one that bears the States' Name, proclaims "We're Texas", and is a couple of blocks from the state capitol.
  12. "I don't know how to coach an underdog team. This is not a bodybag game, this is an opportunity game." THAT is badass... THAT is what this program has been missing for a while now.
  13. My brother and Scott became friends when they were in the engineering dept. From what he tells me Scott is pretty successful. I would love to see him in the UNT HOF. Couldn't be better candidate IMO, he embodies everything that a North Texas athlete should be. Good luck to him.
  14. It is? I thought it was just getting good. It's been building to a nice climax... or maybe it's just me...
  15. or that. At any rate, they can't drag that school's name through the mud enough.
  16. HAHA. I don't feel sorry one bit for OU getting stung by the NCAA.
  17. I've already played NCAA 08 for 360.... The demo came out tuesday...
  18. I forgot what that feels like
  19. This is the best post on this thread. Besides Emmitts. Traditions don't get organized, they just catch on.
  20. whew, I though so... after reading your later post.
  21. Not true. This is the type of thinking that keeps NT disconnected with alumni and the statement is absurd. We need a fan anyway they come.
  22. I remember those days too. Where I was more eager to see the what the heck the defense would do next to score points or punish players than seeing how many points our offense could score. Some of those hits made fans quiver. I'll never forget when I think it was buckles and another DB sandwiched that player from Troy. I loved seeing that defense hit.
  23. He's plenty likable... And will be for everyone in the Mean Green community should he donate to the stadium. I'd be pretty happy about it.
  24. So he's good to play come tomorrow, right? He can start this season..
  25. That is a very funny thought. I wonder if Stoops would atually prepare like that though? I would think he's not preparing paricularly for us, but he's probably focusing more on playing their own game instead of gameplanning around us. Stoops is a good enough coach to make adjustments if he needs to.
