  1. I think the O-line has been very solid. Which is amazing for me to say, because going into the season I saw it as a weakness. The trouble comes when Meager is trying to find an open guy. I think he's just trying to find a guy wide open, which doesn't happen very often. I think it may be a confidence thing. He is so used to ridicule and throwing interceptions that he tries extra hard not to screw up, and so he takes more time. One thing I did notice with Vizza at OU was that he made quick decisions. Now if he could make better quick decisions he wouldn't have thrown 2 INTs in 1 Quarter. But, I think it will come with time and practice, and it was OU, which has an amazingly fast D. I think Vizza needs time to adjust to the college game to actually find out what a open receiver looks like at this level, because they are not as wide open as the were in HS.
  2. I saw Green make a couple of very good plays. Plays that I haven't seen a DB be that aggressive on in a while. It's good to see, but I wasn't quite sure if he got beat a lot. Maybe someone else who was watching more of that can lend some insight into how he played tonight.
  3. You're right, this game hurt bad. And I know exactly what it was... it was being up 17-3 and blowing yet another lead. There a glimpses of goodness, we still can't put it all together to have a complete game yet.
  4. I suppose it would be too much to ask that we wait until the end of the game to come to the conclusion that Tulsa has "passed us by". I mean after 3 good years in the last 5 I can see how you could proclaim that, since we've only been good for 3 of the last 5 years... Better yet, we should wait until the end of the season to make this assumption. Tulsa's records the past 5 seasons: 2002- 4-8 2003- 8-5 2004- 4-8 2005- 9-4 2006- 8-5 You're right ours is much worse... 2002- 8-5 2003- 9-4 2004- 7-5 2005- 2-9 2006- 2-9 I don't really see how they have "passed us by". I am in no way envious of Tulsa. They are a tiny school (albeit nice) in a small town in the middle of the damn near most meaningless state in the union, and call themselves hurricanes when the nearest ocean is 700 miles away. They aren't in a BCS conference. They don't have the enrollment we do. They do well with what they have to work with, but in no way have "passed us by."...yet Lets wait and see if they crack the Top 25 in the next 10 years and compare to what we have done, and then make a judgement. BTW, I know you didn't use the term "passed us by", but I see it used a lot, and I figure it is what you are generally implying.
  5. Should have commissioned Julian Beever to do the drawing...
  6. Dodge was just on the sideline, they talked to him for a little while about what he said to Riley after last weeks loss to Miami. A lot of North Texas talk. Good pub. What I am noticing with the SLC defense is that they are playing a lot of man defense and giving receivers about a 7 yd cushion. Looks a lot like our defense, and Rockwall is just running over them, scoring at will. What is the deal? I understand mixing up coverages, but really IMO playing a zone based scheme with mixed in man (usually on blitzes) sounds like a better option.
  7. Come on, get the record right.... I stopped reading when I read that. Piss poor for a kid that goes to the University.
  8. I'm a fan of them.
  9. Continuing along those lines... Up to my neck in you Let me put my love into you
  10. Touche- If you didn't say it, I was going to...
  11. Emmitt I am not questioning the validity to your statements, or the credibility of your sources. I really hope you are right, but I am very sad that we didn't get rid of it earlier. I hope we weren't "holding back" this whole time.
  12. You know, it would be cool to say that 4 years from now, after these kids sign a half a year from now to come here, and put in the work to make that happen.
  13. Something tells me this is not factual. It may be the fact that signing day is half a year away.
  14. I was thinking about going too. However, if I were to go I might wear a gomeangreen.com tshirt and a unt hat. I'd leave the flag at home, it's a bit excessive for a team that isn't even playing that weekend.
  15. I saw the very same thing and thought it was a huge change to see that kind of fire down there. I looked over one minute and he was so pissed after 3 false starts in one series. I looked over again and he was talking to the guys very calmly, and it looked like he was having a cram session helping those guys out. I was very impressed.
  16. didn't a new reg. just make it harder to make the move up?
  17. What makes you think J-mo is still our best offensive weapon? We haven't seen him be our best offensive weapon for 2 years now. You are right, after that SMU game we need to find a better offensive weapon.
  18. Last Saturday I swear I heard the announcer call Brandon Jackson's name on a tackle. I wasn't paying much attention at the time, so I don't know if it was the spotter/announcer screwing up, which isn't out of the question or if it was actually B Jax playing some defense... Anyone know?
  19. I will never live it down...will I? I need a beer can to crush over my forehead... Or, maybe I should just call up 1 of the many amazingly good looking women in my phone to come over and tell me how manly I am...
  20. Smells like... victory.
  21. I truly believe that if things start going up in the Win column, that NT will keep pace in the facilities and checkbook columns. I really hope that Coach Dodge is given every opportunity to enjoy his stay at North Texas so much, that he won't decide to leave. That includes fans doing our part to be at the games and force NT to build a new stadium by sheer number of butts in seats.
  22. Not only that, how beneficial would it be to have the center and qb used to playing with each other since they were freshmen in HS?.... They both know the system, and they both are used to the way each other works. I really like where this is going.
  23. I remember reading the same thing after the OU game... Time to show a little something I'd say...
  24. LOL, I was thinking the same thing when i saw that picture, then scrolled down, and I see your caption. Thanks Jaydub. Although i'm not quite sure how many folks are familiar with Godwins Law... it's kind of obscure.
  25. That is music to my ears. sounds like he is still growing, and we need linemen bad. Glad to have him on board.
