  1. We could go round and round on this subject. I have heard from sources that Rodge will red shirt and play WR. This was a while back, though, so thinks could change. At any rate it will be an exciting time.
  2. I bet Quoner is pissed because TTG loves loves loves the packers, and now Quinn is a packer too...
  3. You know it's funny... Just about everyone on this board has some source close to the program in one form or another. But all some people do is try to show off how much bigger / better their source is... I had mine too when I was in school that were close to the team. Now it's with donors and alums... My source is bigger than your source.
  4. I'm serious when I say I don't have anything to back up my serious assumption that his source is a trainer... I don't know if I can be more clear than that.
  5. My guess is his source is a trainer. I don't really have anything to back that up, just an assumption.
  6. its not a question of being right or wrong, it's freaking obvious he knows stuff we don't. It's just annoying that he posts about it without specifics. I'm really not surprised that people get hurt in spring training, it happens all the time. That's not good information, or news.
  7. Well, since you can't mention names, mention something about what happened.... You are so vague when you post, that is what I hate...
  8. Is our defense impregnable? Seriously, I haven't seen or listened to the last couple of games. Where has this come from?!
  9. That's not the point... If you aren't prepared to share a name, just don't post. It's that simple. I could care less at this point until I know who it is, then it carries more weight. BTW why are you trying to protect privacy? It seems like you aren't supposed to be sharing information when you post like that.
  10. Horse collar rule is a good one. Jersey grabbing is allowed in the NFL. Just not around the collar... Hair is okay to pull on to. Cut your damn hair if you dont want someone pulling on it. I've never understood how we could allow players to be trained for 4 years to perform horse collars when at the next level it isn't allowed. Length of games... how come no one has ever proposed not stopping the clock on first downs? Also, adding a time limit to reviews is pointless. Getting the call right is all that matters at that point. The clock would expire and if the ref isn't done then oh well? How would that work? What about TV timeouts? How much does having a tv presentation lengthen the game? Sideline Rule They should call this the Mac Brown's Stepson Rule. It is being proposed because of numbnuts like him ON THE FIELD DURING A PLAY. The ref had no ida who was a player and who wasn't. This also happened last year in a game, where a receiver was forced out of bounds and an official threw a flag because he thought he came off the sideline. Good Rule.
  11. I think the most important thing about these past 2 games is that we remembered what it means to play defense and force mistakes. WKU made us look silly at times. I'm not worried about josh white, his shot will come around but defensive effort shows up every time.
  12. I've been there before!! http://www.dailymotion.com/search/gay/video/53625
  13. Nautique, wtf man? you have a personal vendetta against someone?
  14. your second type of fan is the only type I am. I call things like they are, but I don't berate our players on a public forum with the intent to belittle/humiliate after they have left a team. And I will always support our team and our guys.
  15. My take on his post was it's obvious he knew something the first time he posted. I'm not questioning credibility, but I am questioning motives. He knows what he knows, it's just the way he posted that kind of set everyone off. "I know something you don't and I'm not telling" is a kind of childish way of doing it. Divulging some sort of tangible information while keeping sources hidden is an art. Obviously he hasn't mastered it yet, as all he managed to do was annoy people. You can't really indicate something with a statement so broad it could encompass just about anything or anyone. He said a player was missed diagnosed. There, in fact, was a player misdiagnosed. He didn't say who it was, which doesn't make his statement any less true, or his personality any more palatable. I don't care about a player being misdiagnosed until I find out who it is and how bad it is. Revealing half truths isn't a way to release information to people, because they don't care about it. Add in the editorial and sensationalizing teasing manner in which he did it and people tend to wonder just what is this guy trying to prove? (and the demand for an apology from people who questioned a first time poster - WTF? man you have to expect some of that!) It's like a comedian telling inside jokes: They aren't funny unless you know the rest of the story. Except in this case: you aren't a source unless you can tell you're audience the rest of the story.
  16. I know what you are saying, but what kind of a fan are you when you do that? Just because it's high profile doesn't make it okay! This is your team. With players going to your school. These are the players you should care about and empathize with because they chose to come here to play for your school, in this case from California - miles from anything familiar. When they don't perform are you going to kick them to the curb? You going to tell your brother off the bball court, then when he quits say "thank god he's gone" on a message board where not only he, but every friend, acquaintance and family member can know what the "fans" think? You might expect getting heckled or booed from an opponent, but to have it from your own fans is like a stab in the back. They aren't having a completely different experience from when you or I went to school. They walk the same hallways, and may have the same professors and major! The only difference is they add working out, and playing football where you, like I, might have had a job. I'm not saying they are doing more or less work than you or I, just a different set of challenges. This isn't run of the mill criticism about a player making a dumb decision or playing bad. This is cheering and saying good riddance to a student-athlete whom to my understanding did nothing but give his best out there on the field when if there was someone else out there who was better, decided to go elsewhere. That's borderline evil. Think that type of stuff if you want to, but save it to tell someone around a water cooler, a friend, or even say it under your breath. In my opinion, even if they were pros it takes a very horrible fan and mean spirited person to rejoice when a player on your team leaves. These are usually the same fans who complain about alumni loyalty...Just drop it and move on is all I am saying. Take the high road. I'm not trying to lecture people on what it means to be a fanatic. I'm just asking you to support your guys, because your opponent isn't going to. Edit: RadioGreen, this isn't specifically directed at you, you weren't even the one who said anything, so don't take it personal. Talking to members of this board is like preaching to the choir usually. It kind of runs along that old adage - If you don't have anything good (or funny) to say don't say anything at all... I took a few liberties with that, but it's necessary... right Tina Yothers?
  17. So? Lots of other students get their education paid too, that's such a cop out reason. I'm not quite sure if you are ashamed to offer up that tid bit, but you should be. My education was paid for, and there was no public message board with jack assery announcing to the world when I slipped out of class to use the bathroom.
  18. Well, I don't know who told them "no thanks", and you might know more than I do, but I can't imagine that happening. We do have a search committee to my knowledge and there are some incredibly wealthy folks that are a part of it.
  19. I think UNT has plenty of dorms and apartments just off campus to house a good portion of that student body. I think it's more percentage-wise than UT and some other schools of equal enrollment. I could be wrong when I say this, but, UNT is no longer a commuter school. I'd say most of the people that attend it live within 20 minutes of campus, if not closer, and I think it's safe to say most other schools in the country our size have about the same percentage of kids living on campus.
  20. Actually I didn't realize it was just Dodge2007 making those posts. Makes sense for someone new to make those comments. It's a good thought that our most storied player would lead the charge. I hope he's on the committee, but while Mean Joe is a superstar, He did come from the NFL in an era that historically doesn't pay what it does today. I'm not sure what MJG's worth is, and it is none of my business, and it's really not right for me to make assumptions, but I think there are some folks interested in building a stadium that have more experience in fund raising and money making.
  21. So you guys think that we don't have a committee already? And you guys don't know who's chairing it? There is more happening behind the scenes that you folks know. I'm almost positive I'm not the only one here that knows that. I don't know if Joe Greene is on it or not, but I feel confident that our committee is in very good hands.
  22. The administrators of GMG.com shouldn't run down false accusations and rumors and don't have time to. Just refrain from posting hearsay and it's real easy to not be an asshole. So many of you are creating assumptions... then someone who failed reading comprehension and still got a degree feels like it's truth. I hear things all the time about north texas. I hear things from large donors, however, i'm not going to post something that leaves any room for debate. If i know its happening i'll let everyone in on it. and if it's just a rumor, ill refrain from posting. Just because some people think they are "in the know" they feel like they need to run and beat everyone to the punch.
  23. You people are brutal. Seriously, get a life. This is not professional sports, they don't get paid to deal with that.
  24. Much agreed. This board was soo high on his video from california, and as soon as our brilliant defense coordinator put him in a position to fail all of the fans turned on him.
  25. right, that's what I'm saying... I hope we find another place to put them or find something to do with them.
