  1. Wrong. Our offense was middle of the pack. Defense was definitely one of the better units in this country.
  2. Ah, Tricky Dick... I wish someone else said that. Then it would really mean something to me.
  3. Well, it's obvious it's not DeLoach's problem. At least he has our players in positions to make plays...
  4. It IS hard to be mad at Darrien Williams for that late hit out of bounds. At least he was playing full speed until the play was over. That call is always a judgement call. It's like every time the defender gets close to the side line they must tip toe because they are walking on thin ice. Furthermore, am I the only one who thinks our conditioning might be a problem. The reason I ask is: Back when we were winning conference championships and our defense was punishing offenses it seems like they had energy to spare and played to whistles and always tried to force turnovers. Our defense now is not swarming... not playing to whistles. I know it is tough when you are getting jobbed, but I really want to know how we regressed so quickly on defense.
  5. I don't know why this surprises everyone. In HS it is normal for a head coach to pull along all of his buddies... The problem... This isn't HS Football...
  6. Agreed, I was just about to post the same thing.
  7. It's contagious... Just when you think Casey is the only one we can count on.. I think he's just thinking too hard..." dont drop the ball, dont drop the ball"
  8. Of Course they do... That's how they win Emmy's. I've never seen an Emmy given for a feel good story that didn't push an agenda...
  9. SHHH be vehwy vehwy we can't speak too loudly we're hunting wabbits.... huh huh huh huh...
  10. That argument is sort of unstable. Last I checked, those students who don't go here yet still have a choice (just like the ones that do go here now) whether or not they want to go / continue to go to NT.
  11. Can't blame him. Sounds insurmountable.... "When faced with overwhelming disaster, defiance is the only recourse."
  12. Take away their big plays and then what they have is small plays.
  13. Oh My... Over the top AND mildly uncomfortable... I like it.
  14. Kind of funny you aren't happy that he stayed in town and went to your game during a tropical storm. He might have out numbered your fans at the game. It's funny that even SMU's fans make fun of people that go to their games...
  15. How much longer until we say Robert Drake is in over his head? I don't know all that much about special teams, but it seems our DEF LINE could use some work as well. He's a Southlake holdover that also enjoyed success at the HS level, much like Mendoza. I too, don't believe all the special teams fubars are personnel, but then again, it's easier to blame coaches rather than players and our competition has been much better than better than average.
  16. Pay Big NTX all the attention in the world... He's used to us winning 4 conference championships in a row since becoming a member of this board on 25th of Sept. 2007. He has to know what he's talking about concerning DeLoach.
  17. I think he has been placing his passes differently than last year as well, which has resulted in a little more dropped passes that our receivers need to handle. It seems like he is trying more to hit the receivers in their route, rather than the receiver adjusting his route to the ball. If he places a pass where the receiver must stop a route to catch, that gives the defense time to close and also time to stop/adjust. Our receivers just need to have some stickier hands when it comes to catching in stride.
  18. These schools also get a state stipend from oil revenues. Changing the stipend would require a change to the Texas Constitution. I don't quite remember what it takes to amend the State Constitution.... but i remember it being outrageous.
  19. Thanks for coming over here and keeping us in the loop
  20. Ideally, we would want that avg yds per pass to be in the 6-7 yd range. It really doesn't take much more to make a ton of 1st downs. What was very frustrating was how many times we were 3rd and 10+ and we only sent 2 guys past the sticks.
  21. I will be down there with the same crew at the last game +1 or 2. Looking forward to it, big time. I always have fun in Houston. Call me crazy, but I can really see a defensive improvement from last year. Our players are young, but being in a college style defense is helping them look older. As this group progresses I can see them coming into their own. DeLoach is a very good coach, and will get these guys back to the top defensive team we once were.
  22. Rice's stadium is as old as ours, if not, older....
  23. under-rated post. 23000 is very encouraging. Tulsa did travel well, but I thought our attendance was decent as well.
  24. I'd take the over
