touche - i'm happy about tonight's win. but i want to see another win next week

A very close friend of mine (unt grad) was a coach last year at Vernon. Said he was probably the most integral part of them making the playoffs last year. He was pretty excited when he learned he committed to UNT. I'm pretty happy about him too, and it's cool to see him doing well. I think DeLoach will coach him up into a serious player.

btw, i was bored with it before it got here. People were bored with the run happy Dickeyness, but I think most people were sick of 3rd and long draws. I'll take that to this, if Dodge can't get this working. To be truthful tho, what really makes my pants happy is a sack frenzy - crossing routes hitting - jamming people at the line - dangerous to play against defense. Football is most entertaining when we are in the top 10 defensively, and DeLoach knows how to get us there. He's been around for a long time, and I'm positive he will have all of these defensive players running circles around the offense in no time. They just think too much at this point.

Florida had some veer in their offense tonight... on top of spread. Was very entertaining.

I really could care less about people smoking pot. I could care less if Dodge wants to drug test his entire team so he can plan to lose whoever the NCAA chooses to target for their tests. I have no problem with Dodge not doing anything to those players after he found out who they are. It's really only been 2 weeks since they were all tested anyway, and they have to attend classes and are subject to more testing... I really don't get why people think nothing has been done... They've been exposed. Maybe that is enough, and if it isn't we will find out with more testing... I would lose my job if it was found out that I smoked pot. Too much of a risk for me and others to think about using. Of course, there is a difference between what I do for a living and what a college athlete does for a living. 'Pothead' carries a stigma that is hard to shake to employers and educational institutions, and if players become identified individually, that something that these kids will have to deal with for a while, whereas another non-student athlete would never get tested and if they had failed, it would never be obvious in papers.

Mahan's name got called a lot last night, and was delivering some big hits. I too would like to see more of him.

Deloach can't put on a uniform, so I don't know what else you are expecting... I see you joined the board this year. I don't know how long you have been following this team, but Deloach has our players in position to make plays which is more than I can say for Mendoza. The defense just isn't making plays. Give Deloach some time, he will make this defense better as soon as they stop thinking and start being proactive. I saw some bright spots on defense, but some poor tackles and some horrible chase angles.

Did anyone bother?

Blue Lot. If you were to walk down highland and straight into the blue lot, you will run right into us. White tent with cookies coming out of it.

In all fairness, perhaps Deloach isn't making those decisions... He does have a boss.

I am with you. Too bad there are 2 halves to a game. There is always next year, or in this case 2011. I really hope it doesn't take that long to see some presentable football. I hate to keep saying this... I am ready for Basketball.

You are unbelievable. We just got funding for one stadium. It will be a few years at least.

So, what's the next major change you plan on implementing to change the course of our school forever?

wtf is up with our 1st halfs? Is it just that the team tries to go up early so much they they force throws, and think too hard? I just don't know if they are going into the game in the right mental state... they kind of settle into it. One thing is for sure, there is so much more potential than is what is being shown.

Every other spread offense in the nation has at least one pro set, or one where qb is under center.

Every week I've gone to the games at Fouts, with all of the fans and stood there dumbfounded by the enormous support for this team. Today it has been proven in the biggest way possible that this school wants to see good football. I can't help but wonder sometimes how with all of that support we are able to get downright man handled in every single game.
