Where does everyone find content/analysis? I am not a gambler, but found The College Basketball Experience on YouTube and have started watching that every year. One of the hosts is an ECU fan, but at least it is AAC. ๐They watch all the games in D1 and cover them for gambling purposes, but still. I can't find any other videos that will even mention UNT even after big wins. I would really like to know if there are any other places to see analysis of games.

UNT Advances To NIT Quarters On Floyd Winner
GMGGWBG replied to Tom McKrackin's topic in Mean Green Basketball
Did someone say Jasper Floyd has availability left? That would be great if he could come back. Lorient, Newell, and Floyd is a great place to start. -
Quit giving him ideas and shopping him around. We need him! ๐

Hopefully they don't mention it was for a luncheon.๐คฃ

Higher Priority - Faculty Lunch or Hosting NIT bid?
GMGGWBG replied to Dannymacfan's topic in Mean Green Basketball
Obviously we should have planned for the NIT game just in case, but I think we are giving too much credit to OKST. I like to keep up with former players and watch some of their games. Even for high profile games, they have difficulty getting people to show up at their own arena. They are a Big 12 team, but... We'll see what kind of crowd they get for a game against the Mean Green! It's not that far from Denton! GMG There is a reason we are a two seed and they are a four seed. -
Don't forget Scott.

I was. What I mean is if you are offered more money because you are rightly or wrongly attracting attention, sometimes you should take it. Loyalty goes both ways. -
I still love football, but in today's nil portal world, 12 games is not enough to endear the fans to the players.
-
Let's hope so!

It takes so long to get in and out of football games! But I can decide today to go to a basketball game and head to the pit. And for much less money. I knew very little about basketball, until we started this journey. Besides NBA Jams.๐ Now I definitely prefer it over football. 30 seconds is too long to hunt a good shot(not for me), the games are only 2 hours, the coaches call plays but the players are in control most of the game, and watching everything fall into place for a successful trip down the court is awesome. Even the timeouts are better.

When Ross Hodge can get attendance to 7-9000, then it will be time for him to leave and we will move to a bigger conference.
-
My mistake. It was also against SMU. The students definitely showed up for that one! It was an awesome environment. You could feel the excitement at both of them. I would have been happy to see 5000 this year, but 7-9000 seems so far away now even though we had great players and a great team this year and the AAC was supposed to be a step up from CUSA.

I hope Houston keeps winning, because they give our style legitimacy. Our style with top tier talent and drawing huge crowds and so many eyeballs. -
We got home from a La Tech game with 9000 people and my youngest said, "Dad, I think I want to play basketball.". ๐ I did have a ulterior motive of leaning them towards UNT over Texas Tech, but more to get them excited about college in general. So that would be awesome.

Grant McCasland reached out to the community personally too. I am old but seem to remember them not selling beer at games. But now, why wouldn't frats go to games? Any excuse to drink beer and get loud would probably be welcomed. Also, speaking on the PAC 12, that competition for customers is one of the negatives when looking at the DFW market. One thing is for sure, in CUSA I went to a La Tech game where attendance was over 9000!!! Last year, I went to an AAC game against SMU where attendance was just over 5000? If we can get into the PAC 12, maybe that will draw more attention. It is sad that we need that in order to get the benefit of the doubt on Selection Sunday.

I would like to thank everyone for this forum to talk about UNT sports! I am a UNT alumni and got interested in UNT athletics when my youngest son started playing sports. Neither of my sons will watch games on TV so we started making it out to games. Basketball games are way more accessible than football so it has turned out to be an excellent family activity. They are both kinda shy, but when they bring their friends or cousins to the game they get loud! I am addicted now and have found there is no one out there that I can talk Mean Green Basketball with! No one cares! Baylor, Tech, A&M, UT or even TCU on the other hand? I don't really care about them. ๐ So I sincerely that you all!!! GMG

I would love to keep him for a few more years and whichever current players have eligibility next year. But Seth Littrrell stuck around and then got the axe shortly after. That felt dirty to me. -
UTSA blew our chances for sure. I kept hoping Minnesota and Oregon State would go on a run, but I guess that says a lot about our lack of quality wins.
-
Other than maybe McNeese, or maybe including McNeese, do you think if we played the non-con teams we lost to now we would probably beat them? I know every team has to rebuild every year now, but shopping juco and shopping mid- to high-majors is so different. I'm telling you, it is much harder for teams in our current situation and it takes longer to gel. Go CJ Noland by the way and New Mexico (MW)!
-
They worked hard for that 5 seed and felt disrespected because some people had them at an 8 seed! Do you think they represented the conference?
-
Me too! No question. But that's a lot of cheddar.

The Mountain West sent four teams to the Tournament, but we couldn't send two? They are 1-2 so far. When we sent two last year, we were 0-2. I think UAB and Andy Kennedy already know us and that was the tougher matchup. I think if we would have beat UAB, we would have had a better shot at sending two again this year. If teams are not used to playing us, they get frustrated, get tired, and make mistakes. UNT plays a system that allows maybe less talented teams to over perform.
-
Do you think the Mountain West was a little overrated? Four teams got in and two are already out. Utah State is getting blown out. Boise State had a better record and beat SD State on their tournament but was left out and SDST got in. What is going on with selection committee?
