  1. Hence the ? in the title. I am assuming that is what was expected on this post.
  2. Maybe you can help me out, but I heard one of the assistants giving an interview on the radio and he sounded soooo much like Ross Hodge. His speech patterns and what he was saying. Would that be Herl or Forte?
  3. If a team has no identity, how could they possibly know what is expected of them or have a winning culture?
  4. Does Houston have an identity? They definitely have a coach, but does he have a basketball identity or system? He may have a championship after this year!
  5. I'm just a Josh Howard/Mavericks fan.😆 Win or lose, we might get national attention and he beat Rice! So many teams did, though.
  6. They might have beat us again if they would have won. I am excited to see what we can do against UC Irvine. And UAB beat us twice, but they are home now.
  7. I'm pretty sure they do. Did you see High Point's broadcast when we played them? UAB probably does and Utah State definitely does. I'm not sure about the others but I wouldn't say they are better than we are anyway. We split with UTSA, UAB, and Temple. Andy Kennedy makes $1.3M this year. Ross Hodge made $750k.
  8. Josh Howard? UNT Dallas to UNT?
  9. What did they pay for those teams?
  10. We will never have the money and visibility to build teams that can run with high-major teams or Memphis level mid-majors.
  11. It is the system that made it possible for Hodge and McCasland. More the culture actually.
  12. I think so. I also think it makes the AAC better and more competitive in the long run. If you play us twice a year, you learn a lot about playing a stifling defense, but you still have to have the endurance to play against us for 40 minutes. There were so many games where teams figured us out but their team was sweating and just did not have the stamina in the second half to keep a lead and put the game away. UAB is the only team to beat us by double digits this year and we finished in second place.
  13. Good point. Did you see Jason Edwards get beat up in the SEC and not get the call this year? I felt for the guy and wish him success, but they really exploited his size and the refs didn't do him any favors.
  14. Let's do it. Why not? I am sure Hodge can take whoever he wants with him so, if we have someone who can keep this going, sign him up. After catapulting two coaches to Big 12 in almost as many years, the spotlight will definitely be on us and whoever gets the job.
  15. Finding and getting elite shooters willing to reduce possessions, guard, and keep shooting % high is harder to do unless they are one and done. Like Jason Edwards. Elite shooters is what the big boys want and elite shooters want the green light to take any shots they want. Shooters come at a premium these days. But getting good players from lower tier teams to buy into playing defensive minded basketball to win games is definitely possible as we have seen. Or seniors that want to win at any cost that can't reach the high majors or have spent time on the bench at high majors. We have a proven formula that a new coach can follow to keep us from becoming Charlotte next year.
  16. They really hung in there when it looked like UAB was going to run away with it. That Tillis loves to get to the line and shoots 84%. They are fun to watch and it will be a great matchup. GMG
  17. Disrupting a team's preferred style of play is what allows us to win. I think it was Mark Adams the ESPN announcer of a few of our games said that we make teams uncomfortable and the only way to beat us is to be comfortable being uncomfortable. I think that is a good way to put it. UAB knows how to play us. I am glad they lost and hope we can win it all. It is the culture these coaches created that needs to continue. We don't have the money to compete with big schools, but that doesn't mean we can't be at them. I am very curious to see how Hodge does with deeper pockets. I'm really thinking Houston. McCasland was never going to take our style of play to Texas Tech, but Hodge can at WVU. We just need someone to keep that tougher team wins mentality goingm
  18. They are skeptical about this hire, but think Wren Baker is a genius at WVU. Homerun hire after homerun hire.
  19. We Are Bleed Green is legit and made it to the finals two years ago. Some of those teams have serious backing. This ain't Duke. Ross Hodge coached JUCO and now he coached for WVU in the Big 12 and we are very proud to have had him for two years.
  20. So were fajitas.
  21. I was actually thinking the same thing. Whether they do it officially or not, it is heading that way as it is. Teams are DI, but are they really DI? No one really thinks that all DI are the same anyway.
  22. This years team really loved playing together and that has to start with the coaches. We can still have good teams moving forward without trying to outspend deep pocket teams, but none of the players or coaches will stick around long enough for the fan base to get excited about them. Except for us of course! Great year so far and hope it isn't the end of an era. Andre Shaw. Before Hodge was leaving, we were complaining about how bad our team sucked. (Analytics) We Are Bleed Green
  23. I don't see how there won't be a wider and wider chasm separating conferences like AAC and the power 5 due to $$$ and attendance. No remaining Cinderellas already! And only two SEC teams missed the Tournament. Now people want to do away with auto-bids?
