  1. I don’t care about basketball, this is the football forum. But congrats on being able to recruit bb players in the 3rd ward. You want to talk about politics, State is the only school in TX to have graduated a President (LBJ) and a King (George Strait) 🤠 Houston Junior College doesn’t have a bunch of $ or BMD’s but you keep dreaming buddy.
  2. That's messed up. I wonder if they're paying him to create content/interaction. That's a thing now. We were unhappy with our old board and a couple of fans went and started a new one. It's easier than you think.
  3. In a city of 4 million people, I'd sure hope you'd have at least double the attendance of little ol' San Marcos. The only reason ya'll ever sniffed a 5 star recruit is because E.O. was a momma's boy that didn't want to leave home (like most UH students actually). Nobody was talking smack, UH fans are just low class losers and overall poor sports. The only reason you're in the BIG 12 is your daddy Tillman paid for it. Nobody cares about UH in Houston, it's all about UT, A&M and LSU.
  4. What a loser. Lemme guess...he's related to the owner?
  5. That's a typical low class Cougar fan response, I'd expect nothing less. They reacted the same way when we beat them in 2012 but of course he didn't post that score. They were actually throwing bottles and cups of beer on us from the mezzanine above after we won, real classy stuff. But the biggest crime is a UH fan scolding another school about admissions standards and STDs. For those that don't know, UH has the unfortunate distinction of being located in the Third Ward of Houston, one of the most dangerous and unscenic parts of town, where crime runs rampant and the STDs flow like mad dog 20/20. Quite ironic actually. I can imagine many things, but I can't imagine having to go to school in the ghetto or having a fanbase that's so thin that you're overshadowed by 3 other schools in your own backyard. p.s. we've got a few Bobcats in the NFL sir https://txst.com/sports/2010/7/29/gen_0729103220.aspx?id=148
  6. Should be a great turnout, who knows what will happen with both teams suffering big losses to the portal.
  7. Not sure, I wasn't at those games. I don't keep up with Houston Commuter Colleges.
  8. Not in 2012 you didn’t. I was at that game and the Bobcats straight smacked yall up and down The Rob.
  9. Thank you for the kind words. We don’t hate many things but those bums in San Antonio are at the top of our list.
  10. Lord knows we've had our own problems...we were snubbed for bowls two years in a row after moving to FBS and then proceeded to crap the bed for almost a decade under two different coaches. Our recent success hasn't come easy and we're grateful for the progress we've made as a program. That being said I don't think any Bobcats think ya'll are above us (just being honest) and looking at the metrics you'd be hard pressed to find a more equal pairing of in-state institutions. Both schools founded in the 1890s as teacher colleges Both have 40k+ students and ~400k alumni Both have respectable endowments (TXST has about $100m more in the bank) Both have respectable athletics budgets (NTX spends about $10m more per year) Looking down on folks is a funny thing...sometimes you're the pigeon, and sometimes you're the statue.
  11. I agree with this. The home and home is a nice start but a conference with TXST/UNT/UTSA/Rice makes an awful lot of sense. Who knows where we'll end up but we don't seem to be getting the same amount of interest from the AAC as we are the PAC.
  12. The FRB website doesn't address tailgating, not even in the FAQ's. All I know is last year one of our Alums reached out and was told private tailgates had to be purchased through a bowl vendor (Revelxp) and the prices were ridiculous.
  13. The portal is absolutely brutal for the postseason, somethings gotta give here. I know ya'll were hit hard too. Thankfully our QB1 is running out of eligibility and can't bail on us.
  14. We have some depth there but Mahdi leaving is a huge loss.
  15. This was our University/Alumni Association's official Tailgate. Our opponent (Rice) also had theirs setup a little ways down the Boulevard. I'd expect a similar arrangement this year, although it should be much larger with the Mean Green showing up. Private tailgates weren't allowed, or at least had to be purchased from a bowl vendor, which was whack.
  16. True story, hopefully FRB got their act together and knows what's coming this year. We don't sip chardonnay like those Pony pansies do...
  17. The lawn in the South end zone was replaced by the new End Zone Complex. The GA seats are in the north end zone (regular bleacher seats).
  18. Ok, so TripleGrad's recollection of the events is inaccurate and the "Texas State" name was only discussed internally and never brought before the legislature. Got it.
  19. Our official name is Texas State University, the -San Marcos part was dropped in 2014. The TSUS doesn't have a de jure flagship but we're certainly the de facto. And I don't blame the other schools one bit for not wanting to give up their name. Fun fact, North Texas was a part of the Texas State University System until 1949.
  20. When did this happen? I was in school and working at the Capitol when the name change legislation went through and don't remember a competing Bill from North Texas.
  21. Thanks for the warm welcome, I come in peace. Looking forward to renewing a rivalry that lasted for almost a hundred years (1915-1994). Fire away with any questions.
  22. Texas State marched all over your beloved Boulevard at last year's FRB
