Coach Leach must speak to him in his dreams. Besides, he can talk about coach Leach all he wants, but coach Leach made his offense significantly successful compared to EM’s.

There’s no checks and balances on our offense since our HC is also our OC. Nobody is going to tell him to slow down, kick the FG or go for it on 4th and whatever in our own territory…and I believe that’s how he likes it. No matter how much it hinders the team or the defense, he’s ultimately the HC. He feels he can do whatever he wants since he’s got a 5 year contract and they wouldn’t dare fire an Air Raid disciple especially if he keeps talking about Mike Leach.

I bet he assembles a team better than anyone who’s ever come prior. With his connections, I also bet he could help set this program up for the long haul. His name alone brings instant credibility. With that said, he’d probably retire than coach in Denton.

I mean…what other reason for an underperforming coach should there be?

We’re never gonna blow out teams. That’s just not our game. However, we’re gonna be tough and gritty for 40mins and will scratch and claw to win no matter how ugly it looks.

Lorien is supremely athletic, but giving him the ball at the high post to make decisions will not end well. He’s not a playmaker and not a good decision maker

This is the key to his tenure here. If he doesn’t get this DC hire right to make this team competent, then he will be a lame duck coach for next year.

As I’m halfway into your podcast, your buddy brought up a really good point about the offense. Maybe some plays are not well schemed. Feels as if they’re utilizing multiple guys as decoys only to free up space for the main target. Once defenses gets a read on that, they key in on that main receiver and shut it down before it can ever get started (see DT). And, I’ve noticed they barely run any play action. If they do run it, it looks half-assed where no one falls for it. Basically, it’s been predictable. Predictability makes it easier to scheme against…and here we are.

That’s why EM spent $1M on recruiters. Let’s see their magic and earn their paychecks.

And after we spend all our NIL on a prospect(s) and they bolt after the year, then what? What if they don’t even play I.E. Gabe Blair)? We’re still stuck with the same philosophy that hasn’t worked. We’re at a terrible place in our program, but it seems like we’ve had a lot of practice with it.

I ABSOLUTELY agree! We had 77 new players, but most were freshmen. You can’t win with freshmen. They leaned too much on this IMO. It’ll take a good 2.5-3 years for them to hit their stride. By that time…hello portal.

I think the type of OL they’re recruiting is based on his uptempo style. He’s probably not going after bigger and heavier guys due to the pace they play…or wouldn’t be ideal. It’s unfortunate coz that’s a huge reason they aren’t successful on short yardage situations.

I’ve tried to watch a lot of volleyball, and the team just flat wasn’t good this season. Losing a lot to graduation was a big reason. Last year was fun to watch. Not the same talent this season. We got a couple of nice players, but we definitely need height.

Jared seems to be aware of our lack of production from the volleyball standpoint. Hopefully, it merits consideration on the football side of things.

This isn’t Incarnate Word. This isn’t D-2. Wins matter and we’re not winning. Each year we keep falling behind, we keep wasting NIL money and investors in this product. If this was a business, would there be people lining up to invest in this product and whomever is running it? Hard decisions have to be made. Unfortunately, we don’t have the leadership with the capacity to make hard decisions.

Some fans claim lack of logic keeping EM when they also wanted SL gone. To me, we essentially extended SL to 5 more years by way of EM. Tell me I’m wrong.
