Matt Rhule telling everyone the cost of QBs is gonna have almost every qb test the portal. Should’ve kept it to his damn self
-
I know he was still receiving offers and showing new highlights, but I haven’t seen a decommitment. At least not lately
-
I know it’s still early and the team is still gelling with one another. Just wanting to see more production and consistency from our new transfers. I’m just a bit impatient is all

What skill set would that be? Just curious about your thoughts

Who Should We Hire to be Our DC Next Season?

There’s no way he gets to run this defense to the ground two years in a row. He may not get fired, but they at least need to demote him. He may not get out of non-conference schedule if the defense is a replay of last year -

Good wins vs SFA and Pepperdine. The rest…cream puff teams. However, you play the schedule and beat these beatable teams. -

I bet they practice tackling also -
Who Should We Hire to be Our DC Next Season?

He was the worst defense. THE WORST! I bet if you approach other DC candidates, they’ll say they can do much better…everyone of them -

Other than his size, I didn’t think he was a drastic loss for the team. He was actually more frustrating to watch more than anything -

She’s been really good for us. I just love her game. PG play needs to be better IMO. We don’t really have anyone to set up or playmake for us (except Kernal). -
I thought CJ Noland would be much better for us. Up to now, he hasn’t stood out. I thought he would come in to provide an offensive punch, but I have been mistaken. He hasn’t really made any mistakes, so that’s always a plus. it was nice to see John Buggs get it going early. Too bad he was quiet the rest of the game, though. I liked how he was able to get shots up. We need him to get into a rhythm to get him going before conference games start. Ruben looked more aggressive offensively. I liked how he shot the 3 ball when he was open instead of swinging it or driving it in. Glad we won, but I’m ready to see more competitive teams to go against.

I get it…the shock value of our guys leaving will be high at the moment, since all we’re going to hear are the kids that want to enter the portal. Hopefully, things will calm down once we start hearing/knowing who have transferred in. Being a highly ranked offense, not only in our conference, but NATIONALLY, should attract kids to mitigate the offensive loses…hopefully. Defensively, I just can’t believe whomever we replace/add can be any worse than what we had…right?
-
Stings to have Ayo and Maclin declare, but this will, unfortunately, be the norm. Only way we can limit the perennial exits is if we break through like UTSA. Even though they have kids transferring, they also get some good players in return. That’s why we can’t afford to throw seasons away. So, I’m hoping Caponi and this defense improves greatly , or else UNT will continue on the treadmill of mediocrity.
-
Just because they’re DII or FCS guys doesn’t mean they’re all bad. You will always have talented kids that end up there and would like the opportunity to level up. So, why not in the AAC which is a respectable conference compared to CUSA and the like. I’m not saying UNT itself is a “big brand” of football. However, playing in the AAC should be intriguing to them, and UNT should try to capitalize on that.
-
If this is the way, so be it. We can’t compete financially, so we need alternative methods. I mean, we’re in the AAC now. We have to be appealing to kids from other programs wanting to break into a bigger brand of football if you want to call it that
-
He was serviceable, but hard to cry over losing some of these defensive guys. Besides, we have a lot of young DBs we got this past cycle. Almost like hitting the reset button
-
To be fair, they also just started this year. Let’s see how they do this upcoming season where we can better gauge how effective they are. But I’m with you. I saw a lack of strength at the point of attack too many times.
-
I’m not excusing the players at all. And, you’re definitely right - players are part of the problem. But, this is UNT. These will be the kind of players we often get until we breakthrough like UTSA has. Until the , the coaches need to possibly scheme for the players instead of vice versa

We know the offense will keep us in game, so it’s all on the defense next season. A repeat of this season is disastrous to Eric morris and this program -
We can’t afford losses with this program. Their DC and defense has blown arguably 3-4 games for us this year. Morris giving him the same amount of leash next season is t going to cut it. We keep wasting years we don’t have.
-
Very skeptical. In the postgame presser, he blames tackling once more. Although that was a huge part, the one running the defense was the other.
-
That’s exactly why I didn’t give them a D
-
Attaboy! Glad you got your meme in
-
Are we sure we’re getting the entire sum? I remember reading during the time of our entry into the new conference that we would be receiving $1.5-$2m the first year or two. I had asked Vito and another media guy on Twitter, but they didn’t have the answer. Either way, it’s triple the share from C-USA.

If you want to continue to see poor rush defense, lack of positional awareness and poor tackling, then I suggest we keep him
