🔥🔥🔥Official UNT vs Texas Tech IN-GAME DISCUSSION🚨🚨🚨
3_n_out replied to Cooke County Kid's topic in Mean Green Football
100%. Preaching accountability only sounds good when you don’t have to do it I guess. -
Our defense will be our defense. What can’t happen is our offense to $hit their pants. Morris needs to slow it down some and try to go vertical with the passing. Too much swing passes IMO. Let those guys run routes and let Chandler read them. He made the correct reads against USA, so don’t take that away from him like I feel EM did this game. Too many quick hitting passes that seemed to be predetermined. Trust in Chandler

So, do we want staffers from P4 programs like what we did with Caphony or an experienced DC…even from a smaller school?

Oregon State AD: Pac-12 will look to add new schools quickly

Money is the huge thing here. CRod elaborated on a lot of great points. For me, my biggest questions are: 1. IF UNT gets an invite, will they get full share or partial? If partial, for how long? In the AAC, 10 years of 50% revenue kinda sucks, but better than any other G6 conference 2. Will they help UNT pay their way out? 3. Our Olympic sports will definitely benefit from going into the PAC. Women’s volleyball/ soccer/softball, tennis and golf program - would be a wonderful opportunity. -
We got the whooping ass outbreak instead

Can this coaching staff motivate a team?
3_n_out replied to El Paso Eagle's topic in Mean Green Football
I don’t think it was motivation related. Perhaps after our asses were handed to us in the second quarter, motivation (lack thereof) became a factor. But, to always run up to the LOS to get plays off fast knowing your weak defense, as it relates to the tempo of your offense, will be on the field more. It’s counterproductive. To me, it was coaching - plain and simple. Maybe a morris read the press clippings too much about Tech struggling the past two games, how his defense stonewalled an FCS opponent. Then, he actually calls a swinging gate BS, going for it on 4th and 7 (and making it), but not going for it on 4th and goal, then ultimately missing the fg. His WRs couldn’t catch and he barely called any run plays until the second half when the best thing to do was to keep the clock running. Kids weren’t ready to play, and that’s on the coaches. -
DC at a P4 or HC here…hmm. Perhaps being at a lesser known school without pressure could help him.
-
He drinks enough water during his press conferences to put them out.
-
How would a Scott Frost do at the G5 level?
-
Add Gary Patterson to the list. How do we feel about Dave Arranda? I’m sure his time is up soon.
-
Gary Patterson was a consultant with UT and separated ways last I heard. I don’t know if he still wants to coach after being fired by TCU, but I believe he would bring instant credibility and attention. Perhaps he could be waiting on the Baylor job, but I wouldn’t close the door on Dave Arranda either.

Do we start the who will the next head coach will be now?

It appears to be a sign of being uncomfortable. Don’t be surprised if he just ends up doing the stone cold Steve Austin celebration when the hard questions come up…from Brett Vito. -

Wow I never knew those were the ramifications of our AAC deal. I thought we would have full shares after the first two years. So, to forego money the first two years upon entry, then essentially $3-$4M/yr for 10 years…I can see why we should always be on the lookout for expansion to the PAC. But, that’s even if we are part of their expansion plans. -
All I know is the HC and the AD are tied at the hip. Morris was Mosley’s hire. I’m sure he’ll give him every chance to succeed before letting him walk.
-
Optics just made him look worse. The team he inherited competed for the conference finals and was bowl eligible. He brought in a team with the worst defense in D-1 that had a hard time beating “weaker” teams. Clearly, his claims made the weight on his shoulders heavier. Perhaps it’s too heavy for him get out of.
-
Is it time? Maybe it’s time
-
I did notice that. He seemed to have a lot of zip on short passes. But, I’ve also seen his WRs drop perfect passes on 3rd down which would extend the drive, so…IDK.
-
I agreed with the SL firing. It was time. However, we can’t even put Morris’s name along Seth coz he hasn’t done squat. He was hired to elevate the squad, but the only elevation I see are the defensive yards allowed and the score of good opposing teams. What SL did weren’t groundbreaking things, but we were placed in a position to be conference champs and go to bowl games. I’m sure we’d all settle for that right now than having a team come out to a “prove to the world game” lifeless.
-
The same as always. Skating thru the season just hoping to get by
-
I feel like Chandler Morris is rushing to make his reads to get rid of the ball. Feels like when we played against USA, he was making the correct decision and wasn’t in such a hurry. Our OL was better pass blocking today, but still Morris seemed to be rushing his throws. I know it’s the air raid offense, but shouldn’t you know when to slow it down some plays?

Ugh…so right

I’m counting the SFA performance too -
What’s our confidence level headed into the Wyoming game?
-
Honestly, Evan Jackson and Jayden Anderson may need to be benched. They just can’t keep up.
