I’m not certain if that’s what they’ll run out there Saturday, but judging from the depth chart…3 safeties, 3 LBs, 3 DL. From the most recent presser, EM mentioned they utilized a LB in place of the Star Safety position. Here, I see Jayven Anderson.

Sounds like our new president has some work to do. Time to take UNT into the new era instead of this treadmill of mediocrity. This is the last year before we are added to the AAC media rights payroll (albeit @ 50%). However, that’s 4x more than we were earning w/ C-USA. Let’s see what he can do with that.

If EM goes back to a 3-3-5 after having some success with the 3-4 alignment, I’m gonna be upset. We’ve seen that defense continue not to be effective and we keep running it out there. We finally did something good and we’re to deviate from it? That would tell me the kind of coach EM is.

We play who’s on the schedule. The goal is to win as many as you can no matter how ugly it looks. Believe me, I complained about the ugly win against SFA. I found myself wanting to give anything for an ugly win against Tech. This is a good start for the team. Hopefully, they can be even better moving forward with getting Gabe Blair back, acclimating to more 3-4 type defense. Very happy EM made a coaching decision to change up from the 3-3-5. It takes guts to realize what’s wrong and finally switch it up.

Not a lot of mentions, but I thought Landon Peterson played well at RT. Moore switched to LT and our previous LT was benched? Other than the holding penalties by Moore, OL held up well. Hope Gabe comes back soon so we can see how this OL really stacks up.

Regarding the attendance, we’re building. I know it’d be great for sellouts every game, but I commend the admin and students for their efforts. Would also be great for the Greeks to be more involved in the process. Have them bring their signs and compete with others as to who can have the biggest turnout during game days. Whomever brings the the most one week gets on the field the next to help participate and advertise their chapter.

Yes they did. Also helped it was against a bad offensive unit. Still, I celebrated their performance. Enjoyed having a LB on the edge to create more of a 4 man front. It allowed more of a rush to come off the edge.

He just needs to throw the ball to that really fast kid who returned the KO for a TD. Get the ball in his hands and let him do all the work.

Defense appeared to line up 4 on the line some (OLB). That allowed Shipley to pass rush more. I’ll be happy if they continue with this alignment, or at least have more of it. It’ll be easier to set the edge that way and allows for more bodies closer to the LOS. Great job only giving up 10 points.
