  1. I think Morris basically told the QB's that they would be using the portal going forward looking for guys they have playing experience. Another 6 win season and they lose their jobs. So no time to develop freshman and take their lumps. Their jobs rest on Puff being the man. Already hearing rumblings that Jimerson looking to get out after the spring. And possibly Mestemaker. No hope for young guys playing with this staff.
  2. Because they want to play in this game to increase their stock value. Show out in a bowl game and hit the road for bigger school or money. Look at the teams that just completed their bowl games. As soon as they did, players hit the portal. Rutgers had 12 guys do it right after their bowl. The world we live in.
  3. Shane Porter is leaving. He’s not gonna come back and get stuck being the fourth or fifth string running back again regardless of scholarship. He already has offers elsewhere and is not sticking around. I have a feeling another 8 to 10 guys will jump in the portal The day after the bowl game.
  4. True. I’m talking about guys that have not indicated that they are transferring. Any new guys that haven’t told yet.
  5. So players have five days after their bowl games end to enter the portal. That means after our game on January 3, we could still have new guys enter the portal for the next five days after that. Do you guys foresee anyone else entering during that time?
  6. I think Morris is a great play caller, but not a head coach. Game management has been terrible the last two years. Going for it so many times on fourth down and not getting it and putting our defense in bad situations. And clock management and using timeouts. It’s hard being a head coach and a play caller. You get lost in the moment and don’t do what’s best for the team when you are just worried about the offense.
  7. Or he knows this staff will be fired after next season and is getting a jump on a better place. Hopefully Drew and Cash get to play in bowl game. Then will get a good idea of what they offer.
  8. I agree. If you have time to develop QBs you can afford a young QB playing. Jimerson with his speed will be on the field somewhere. If not, he will be gone after spring ball. Young QB’s have to go to programs that are stable and can develop.
  9. We say quarterback whisperer, but the last two quarterbacks that have started for us were not developed by Morris. They were at other programs or developed there and we just use them for a season. And that’s what’s gonna happen again this year with the guy from Miami been developed by others and then we will get the benefits of six years of college. Nothing wrong with this philosophy. That’s what we’re going to do from here on out with this coaching staff.
  10. Maybe not. I’ve just seen receivers on the visitor list recently. I hope we can keep all of those young guys because I think they are very solid.
  11. I assume we will see more young guys jumping in the portal soon with all of these transfers. Especially on the receiving side.
  12. When we recruited him two years ago, the plan was to develop young high school players and recruit from Texas high school. But after we went 5-7 and 6-6, the next two seasons, the thinking has changed win now mentality so that’s why we are going out and getting so many older transfer guys. You can see the two years ago we brought in over 20 something high school recruits and I think in this last signing period This year we may have signed 10.
  13. According to ON3 he already has FBS offers since entering the portal. Including 1 power 4 school. I assume since our philosophy now is to go to portal and get 5th and 6th year QB’s all the young QB’s will leave. We are in a win now mode or get fired. No more developing players.
  14. 5'8" 165 was what he was this summer at camp.
  15. He was told he was not going to be the starter. So he had to find a place to play or be the third string QB again for his last year.
