  1. The “boo hoos” come when (and if) this guys hangs up big numbers and is gone in 2026….The portal without limitations on the number of transfers is a death blow to G 5 teams.
  2. Ragsdale enters the portal……really? 4 games in 2 years and UNT probably paid tuition, room & board…plus medical care, pt rehab, all related out of pocket expenses…enough to get him on his feet so he could hobble over to the portal ! What suckers we are…. We wish him well, but one might wonder what team will want him….however, there are rumors that there is interest from Baylor…..Medical Center! University presidents, boards, athletic directors, conference execs need to unite and lobby for changes to insane portal and NIL policies…or G5 football will be toast!
  3. Right…If Jimerson starts for UNT next year and hangs up big numbers, he’ll be gone at the end of the season …just the new reality….G5 teams are all farm clubs except Army, Air Force, and Navy!
  4. Anybody know the status of the three D guys that were “indefinitely suspended”? As I recall, one of these transfers had a ‘bad dude’ wrap sheet? ( maybe desperate recruiting by a desperate Caponi?)

Even with bad wrap sheets, the D could use some bad dudes about now!

  5. Yep….If he’s a standout after a couple of years at the UNT farm club, it’s off to Ole Miss, Georgia, UCLA, or anyone of the other Power 4….such it the state of college football courtesy of NIL, the NCAA and the sports media ! God bless the coaches who have to tolerate this revolving door after spending their time recruiting and coaching them, only to see them plucked out the nest as they reach their pennacle,
  6. Great news: The Mean Green have won this national polo championship for an unprecedented two years in a row. Not so great news: The Mean Green polo ponies have entered the transfer portal ….Rumors are it was the allure of more NIL hay!
  7. Great news: The Mean Green have won this national polo championship for an unprecedented two years in a row. Not so great news: The Mean Green polo ponies have entered the transfer portal ….Rumors are it was the allure of more NIL hay.
  8. Due to NIL and the portal, AAC schools have become mere farm clubs for the P-5 who are nearing a monopoly on athletic talent. Maybe the new UNT logo should be an eagle sitting on a farmer’s plowshare!
  9. Late news flash…..UNT polo ponies have entered the transfer portal…..rumors are they’re looking for more NIL hay,
  10. Well, Buggs is bugging out, headed to his 5th stop! Transfer portal and NIL are killing college sports, especially mid-tier schools that have little chance of moving up,
  11. Prudence dictates that this young man be given some extra guidance and support off the field so that he stays on the ‘straight and narrow’ (i.e. keeps his nose clean’),
  12. Hmmm…..If the NCAA checks out fellow ACC member (SMU) what NIL violations do you think they will find?
  13. Oh no… not another Chandler for NT…..transfers in for rehab, showcases his skills….and then off to the SEC….seen this movie before!
  14. No problem on $MU player parent travel…donors will find ways to get them there…maybe raise player nil from $36k to $50k/ yr., charter jets, ?? When money is no object, there’s always a way!
  15. FIU is no P5-level team, or even a mediocre P5 team such as Cal. Scheduling Cal as the opening game was a bad mistake. It was close to one of those mismatched 'body bag' games that used to be UNT's annual, fund-raising' practice. That game was even a bigger mismatch given that UNT is in a major rebuilding phase, both team and coaching staff. UNT's 4 Horsemen of the Green Apocalypse (Ragsdale, Johnson, Adeyi and Adaway) should have a good night and run roughshod over a weak FIU D-line. 38-24 UNT.
