  1. Was pleasantly surprised to see us make the NIT and it just shows how well respected we have become in basketball across the country. Someday perhaps football and other sports can also be well thought of.
  2. Tough loss but good news is Ross has a legit PG coming in next year and he can recruit so I expect we will have more dudes joining as well!
  3. Best we can hope for is CBI at this point and after winning the NIT I am not sure I would even take it. Ross should focus on recruiting and next year.
  4. that is my understanding. We had same in C-USA and SBC b4 that.
  5. This. I don't get why we don't choose to do this too. I think our strategy is to wait it out a lot of the time before offering.
  6. I have conflicting thoughts when looking back. On the one hand, when healthy and hitting shots, we could stand toe to toe with pretty much anyone. But with injuries and lack of a shot we could lose to teams like UTSA. I do think Ross overall had a very good year with big shoes to fill but this team won the NIT last year. Looking at the depth that FAU displayed in terms of size and guard play last night is daunting. If we could somehow get Rubin, Aaron and Jason back and hopefully keep CJ, Buggs and Rondel and put some quality big men around them I feel like we too could be elite. If not it will be very difficult to compete in this conference with the likes of FAU, UAB, Charlotte, USF and Memphis. UAB has proven they can basically reload every year similar to WKU.
  7. I don't have an account. Anything of significance or just musical chairs with existing staff members?
  8. Women have a tough game against an improving Memphis team. The game tonight will not be easy. Need everyone to show up and support.

  9. Just out of interest @Cooley what are your thoughts on our current signees?
  10. I have always been told it was because he was a legacy like his dad played here way back when or whatnot?
  11. Welcome!
  12. They have a fair amount of fans and alumni down here. I wouldn't discount their attendance.
  13. Amen. Could not state it better!
  14. I don't think it is good to dog pile on Penny. He owned the loss and was very positive towards our coaches and players. I hope he can rebound against SMUt.
  15. Overall they seem to show us more respect than some other teams: Hoots 1st String Posts: 2,339 Joined: Jan 2014 Reputation: 180 I Root For: Memphis Tigers Location: Michigan Post: #392 RE: ***The Official Memphis vs North Texas Basketball Thread*** (Yesterday 10:08 PM)MemTigers1998 Wrote: (Yesterday 10:06 PM)TigerinFL Wrote: can't wait to find out coach will throw them under the bus once again I’d almost rather hear that than listen to someone like Pastner tell us how great North Texas is, when everyone knows they aren’t To be fair......North Texas is well-coached, they have good players, and run good stuff.

  17. Agree 100% need to fund it that way!
  18. The Mean Green Collective is only for basketball. I like football but basketball is our best chance for national recognition.
