North Texas football has “100%” faith in 3-3-5 defense
Ross Hodgeson replied to cousin oliver's topic in Mean Green Football
I saw that too but he said similar things about them prior to the Cal game last year. Hope like heck he is right. -
Another disappointing loss for Hedlund
Ross Hodgeson replied to Dannymacfan's topic in Mean Green Athletics
Looking at the stats we actually played them pretty well. Could have gone either way actually. -
Feel so much uncertainty this season
Ross Hodgeson replied to cousin oliver's topic in Mean Green Football
Agreed, but on the other hand a loss would be terrible. -

Yeah would better to have it quiet versus being in trouble. -
American: Raising Cane's (Baton Rouge, La.) For the American Conference, I decided to go with the restaurant company Raising Cane's. This can be the perfect sponsorship for the conference. The business is headquartered in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Raising Cane's is already a corporate sponsor of the American Conference. Looking past that, there are also a few more reasons as to why. For one, since the restaurant began in 1996, the company has expanded mightily. According to Scrapehero.com, there are nearly 800 locations of Raising Cane's restaurants in the United States. Of that total,195 of them are located in the state of Texas. That is 26 percent of total restaurants in the country. The company is prevalent in the southwest region and some of the southeast. Other than the 26 percent of locations in Texas, another nine percent are found in Louisiana. The reason why I bring this up is because of some schools in the American Conference. Three schools in Texas play in the AAC. Those schools are North Texas, Rice, and UTSA. Both Rice and UTSA are in major cities as Rice is located in Houston and UTSA is located in San Antonio. The conference also has Tulane, located in New Orleans, Louisiana. South Florida is located in Tampa. Temple is in Philadelphia and the Memphis Tigers and Charlotte 49ers are also in the conference. So there are notable cities in the AAC that some members call home. This can bode well for Raising Cane's. The company is still growing and is trying to get all around the country. However, a step that needs to be taken is to get more air time. While the American Conference is not a Power Four league, it is the closest thing to it when discussing the Group of Five conferences. The AAC has games broadcasted on ESPN's major networks every season. Some teams have risen in the rankings and have played in major bowl games in the past. With the 12-team College Football Playoff coming this year, a team or two from the AAC could possibly find its way in. There's lots of potential in this hypothetical partnership. read more: https://saturdayblitz.com/posts/the-perfect-naming-rights-sponsor-for-every-college-football-conference-01j09vwn5a51/2

Although the Rice Owls football team's home has already undergone improvements, Rice school administrators have stated that some significant changes are now required. With the help of a sports design firm, the institution finished a facilities master plan last year that addressed the 1950s building. The Houston Business Journal was informed more recently by Tommy McClelland, Rice's director of athletics, that a "transformational" overhaul is required for the deteriorating stadium. "We're looking at whatever it takes. Our approach is we have to do something drastic. ... Just putting new paint on what we have is not what we're looking at," McClelland told HBJ's Chandler France. While the university has made some renovations, such as upgrading seating and adding new spaces over the past two offseasons, a more extensive project has been postponed despite being a priority for athletic officials. Joe Karlgaard, the previous director of athletics, had hoped to oversee a major renovation of the 70,000-seat stadium before his departure in August 2023. Rice had approved a design for a major renovation project in 2022, but that plan was put on hold. The project aimed to reduce the stadium's capacity instead of building a new one, aligning it with other teams in the American Athletic Conference, which the school joined in July. read more: https://www.chron.com/news/houston-texas/article/rice-university-stadium-19518306.php?utm_campaign=socialflow&utm_medium=referral&utm_source=facebook.com&fbclid=IwZXh0bgNhZW0CMTEAAR0GOACiCfLSdtPF7ShNfnw4seQzzuj18gAKjh0KcUOeJzZAqLW2jqShlOE_aem_VNgLnj9bcfTt9bpEewOIEw

U of Florida Getting Their Pants Sued Off Over NIL
Ross Hodgeson replied to Mean Green 93-98's topic in Mean Green Football
I figured this would start happening especially after Drez and JReese got screwed out of their original deals. The next thing is going to be players screwing these creepy agents. Some of these agents are getting like 20-30% on these shady deals as the middleman bringing very little value to the equation. What a mess this NIL has become! -
No way he is making more there. Just moving to move.
-
Good luck!
-
He left because he and his family wanted to be connected to the history and tradition of the Michigan program. I frankly doubt he makes a dime there money wise. i also think Dusty May has been working on this deal for a long time which is disheartening.

I noticed online that UTSA was offering naming rights for donations and it seemed like a good idea. Are we doing anything similar or have we tried this in the past? Be Bold Today SAN ANTONIO – Leave your mark – and your name – on the future of UTSA Athletics by making a gift that will be integral to the continued rise of the program for future generations of student-athletes. UTSA Athletics recently announced that it is investing $57 million in facilities and capital projects thanks to incredible institutional support. Over the next five years, this emphasis will allow UTSA to focus on the construction of a basketball and volleyball training facility, player development centers for both baseball and softball, a nutrition performance center for all student-athletes and a covered football pavilion. While this investment provides a remarkable foundation for the groundbreaking of these much-needed facilities projects, philanthropic support will play a key role in driving these state-of-the-art facilities toward completion. In 2021, UTSA Athletics launched the Bold Champions campaign to increase support for the Roadrunner Athletic Fund, and to enhance and expand athletics facilities, which will ensure that all 17 intercollegiate sports programs remain competitive. We are grateful to the generous donors who have contributed to the Bold Champions campaign to date. To further drive the campaign, UTSA Athletics is pleased to announce that there are additional naming opportunities available in all sports and at all gift levels. These public acknowledgements serve as an inspiration to others in our community and highlight the impact of the athletics program on the entire UTSA and San Antonio communities. Naming opportunities are a great way to honor family members and make your family name a lasting part of the UTSA Athletics legacy. Leadership gifts begin at $25,000 and can be pledged over five years. If you are interested in supporting the Bold Champions campaign, please fill out an information request form to discuss with a member of the UTSA Athletics Development team. Your support of Roadrunner Athletics is essential to our future success.

When are we going to hear some good news?
Ross Hodgeson replied to Shark84's topic in Mean Green Basketball
Yes, I think in most cases players are testing the market to see what if anything they can pull in. I do not think UNT is waiting on players to come back and is focusing on immediate impact guys that can help us right away. It is a buyers market! -

Let me also add, I worry for Rubin and Aaron etc as they can be taken advantage of right now from these other schools. Evidently, James Reese and Drez did not get what they were promised when they left. You are truly a stranger in a strange land in many respects. And you have no laws to support you if they are bad actors. -

No they can transfer out as much as they want is my understanding as there are no set rules being enforced. It truly is the wild wild west!
