Link if possible. Or point me in the right direction. I would like to see the breakdowns.

Thanks @Big Z You beat me to it. Memphis 46 Charlotte 35

I think the “clutch/closer” factor is a loving wins more than hating loses thing. Personally I hate losing more than I love winning. You couldn’t dial up a clutch or closer statistic if you tried. The blind comparison gives the edge to the mortal. Kudos for recognizing that the comparison is a 2nd year vs a 4th year player.

I wouldn’t go so far as to say attached to Edwards, but very attached to idea that someone has to stick up for “the little guy”. I am not fond of bullying, seniority based acquisition nor favoritism in the workplace. If I may borrow a pinch of language nuance from @Censored by Laurie, Edwards is an employee of North Texas. I’ve seen all of the above as it relates to him, thus I’ve opted to say something. To say nothing makes me just as guilty as the offenders. There may have been a time when it was 100% the shirt, but not anymore. Since we are basketball followers, if a SMU player was a member of your favorite professional team would you no longer follow the team? Why does it have to be limited to “college to pro”? What’s wrong with “college to college”? I’ve labeled a former basketball player the UNT God. Almost impossible to find a thread without a mention of the UNT God. He plays for another college team. So much for the love of the shirt! Very easy to find videos of the UNT God here on this very message board. No Igor Milicic Jr videos on The Sabre. I am a huge proponent of NIL and free rein regarding transfers. The kids/young adults are nothing more than underpaid employees. No member of any workforce should be forced to work for any employer. Every person at UNT is free to come & go as they please except for athletes. I can transfer as many times as I want. CRH can leave anytime he feels like it. So can the AD. Why restrict the movement of the labor force? Money!! There must be A LOT of it otherwise no one would care.

Get your income & credit score to a sufficient level and apply for a starter card. You will notice something strange when the bill arrives - you’ll make a purchase on a Tuesday but it won’t post until Thursday. Sometimes Friday. 🤣🤣🤣 I don’t typically hang out in Charleston for the Zaxby’s. But you knew that. The tournament ended on Sunday the 19th, but I chose to enter the College of Charleston’s arena concession stand on the 20th and charge myself (UVa Honor Code in effect) as the building was vacant. Then nabbed some fries & Zax sauce the following day. 🤣🤣 What a trip!!! Not sure why you opted to “pile on” this one. I was questioned & provided proof. Now you want to attempt to discredit a fact. Would a photo make you a believer or will you accuse me of photoshopping? Rhetorical. First it was living on Daddy’s dime & now a fake groupie. Note I didn’t say fake fan because we all know Hoo attends games & Hoo does not. Cue the fake student jab next. I’ll let my dad know that you have requested the bill.

Gave you a 🏆 That was hilarious 😆

And those payments were for Name-Likeness-and Image? Your retort wasn’t a stretch, but an outright lie by attempting to equate NIL to illegal payments in the name of language nuance. You can do better. I have the utmost faith in you.

The message board is a part of my life now. Proven!

I like agree with your take. CRH mentioned in his post game about guys being concerned with their stats. If I wasn't sitting a few feet away from the bench, I would bet my life that he was talking about Edwards. A poster once stated that Edwards is always trying to get 20. I'm sure that poster meant it in the nicest of ways. CRH gave Robert Allen & A-Scott a mouthful at various times on the bench about it too. Odd that he dropped that nugget to the "media", but didn't assign a name to it. Allowed the listeners to decide Hoo he was referring to. My immediate thought was anyone listening to this will think Edwards. No longer chasing 20. Now chasing 30. That was the 2nd complete floor game I have seen from Edwards. He did it in back to back games. Thanks CRH. CRH also noted that "we clawed back into the game" and missed the front end of a 1 and 1. Guess Hoo? Edwards. Thanks Coach. 29.5 ppg this week, 4.0 boards, 3.0 assists and 1.5 turnovers on 66% shooting from 3 doesn't get you much in the appreciation category these days.

Rank or name? Multiple ways to "rank" players. The Top 7 players on this roster as of 2/20/24 would be Allen, Scott, Walker, Jones, Buggs, Edwards, and Noland if you asked me. Please tell me that Dello isn't the missing piece to an undefeated season. Impossible to argue what he does defensively, but his 4.2 per game vs Stone's 2.0 per game still has you down 1 at the buzzer. I alluded to shuffling deck chairs earlier. Dello played vs UTA & LSU-S. Those were wins with players 8-12. These next few weeks will decide everything regarding our best basketball being played, this "core" returning and running it back (ala FAU), or the roster seeing the norm with additions & departures via the portal. My money is on the latter. More than enough evidence to support that thought.

NIL has been around for over 40 years? How insightful. I'll err on the side of caution and trust the HOF coach on this one over the message board guru with a Mentor ranking.

Insight - CRH knew Edwards was a dominant player the first time they suited up. Find an insider and inquire about the closed door scrimmage. All teams have them - very few know the opponent and results. "We were figuring out how to work in Edwards early" is a stretch in my opinion. CRH stated that his first order of business upon being named HC was to re-recruit his own players. Well, you try to keep as many campaign promises as possible. My guess would be that "figuring out how to work in Edwards early" was just that - fulfilling a campaign promise made to someone other than Edwards. You have fair & you have wrong. I could care less about fair - life ain't fair. But the "figuring out... blah blah blah" was wrong. CRH knew. The staff team knew. The team knew. I can't sign off on wrong. The current core of this roster has the potential to be legit. Sans all the "if we were healthy" excuses, at what point during this season has this core proven itself to be legit. A lot of close defeats. A lot of defeats. Defeats. Players or coaching - what is the root cause? 100% healthy prior to the start of conference play. Record: 7-5 60% healthy since start of conference play. Record 7-6 Insight - This looks like a case of shuffling deck chairs. But in reality it is not. CRH just needs to make the difficult easy decision.
-
Here to provide "insight" as requested by you and I will ignore what I disagree with and move on with my life. You can place a strikethrough a name or two on your "core". I know Robert Allen. I know Aaron Scott. I know John Buggs. I know Matthew Stone. I know Jason Edwards. Insight - I live in the same apartment complex. I see these guys daily. I have had real live student to student conversations with them. Now I won't say that we are sitting down reviewing game film or I accompany them to practices, but I have sat down at Zaxbys and shared a meal. Armed with that "insight", you must know that I've asked how they are enjoying their UNT experience. I have no more knowledge as anyone as to Hoo is likely to return. However, I do know Hoo is 100% not returning. Insight - Message Boards are the poor man's social media. If I found my way onto this message board, what makes you think Christian Moore (just chose a random name) hasn't found it as well. It's not up to me to decide if enough disparaging remarks have been made about a player to equate to the proverbial straw that broke the camel's back. Personally, I wouldn't want to work for any company that openly didn't appreciate my efforts. This season is coming to a close and all will be back to the way many want it in a few months.

You took the bait. After the Memphis game, I stated we could pick up next week. Well it's next week. I could go line by line, but I will not since most of the dribble was just for you. I'll cherry pick a few. We see the game differently and there is no shame in that. I have a good idea of Hoo you are, and by now you should have a good idea of Hoo I am. Writing styles are the initial indicator. I also think something as small as our avatar's lend insight into Hoo we may be. I'm constantly look to peel back the proverbial onion and discover Hoo I am speaking with. "if you're wrong will you go away?" Am I being Censored by Laurie. I think not. I would prefer if it people read something they disagreed with on the internet to just move on with their lives. See what I did there? Avatar/Username vs. Avatar/Username. Now on to the meat & potatoes. No more posts from HoosMeanGreen - Not happening. I will not be Censored by Laurie Gaines is not UABs best player. He will tell you that. Edwards can take a dump in the middle of the court and I would say play on. Can't believe you fell for that. Scott asked for Lindeborg the same as Memphis Jones asked for Edwards. Pseudo NBA prospect meet 2024 NBA draft pick. Robert Allen - it was just in case you didn't fall for my obvious Edwards zinger Still looking for the "insight" that your retort provided. I will attempt to provide better insight on my next reply. Today's lesson for @Censored by Laurie Read it, disagree with it, and move on with your life.

Thanks for posting that. The post game presser that I was referring to is the one on The Varsity network. I was in the arena and listened to it live. Lindeborg spoke specifically on the A-Scott matchup.

All over the place with this one. 1. No more road games for me. Beginning to think I am the jinx 2. Are we not game planning for the opposing teams best player? I felt that we should have doubled Lendeborg from the start. The game plan gave me Jason Garrett vibes. 3. Enjoyed seeing CRH call out to an official by name & then rip into him. About time. 4. #2 was not #2 in the first half. A real WTF moment. He almost always plays well in the first half. Yesterday - hades NO!!!! 5. #1 was invisible. Lendeborg ate him alive. A real WTF moment. UAB’s post game presser is worth a listen. 6. Stats are deceiving - total sleepwalk by Robert Allen. Another WTF moment. 7. If you haven’t seen Sissoko up close, wow. Dude is huge! He was bullied like a 3rd grader at recess. Another WTF moment. 8. They ALL must play better away from the Pit. It’s like they all forgot how to play basketball. 9. CJ & Rubin back this weekend. You heard it here first. Finish out the season strong & let’s see what happens in the tournament. UAB had no home court advantage yesterday. None!!! I’m not happy about yesterday. Jekyll & Hyde. CRH’s post game presser was very informative. Gave a little insight into the personalities on the team. He is not happy either with what he saw yesterday.

Robert Allen the only player without eligibility remaining.

Playing him. Does not have to be 35 minutes. I want him back in some form to get ready for the conference tournament.
