  1. Wasted possession to start
  2. Clearly watching the same team that I watch. Does the delusion continue post Thursday/Friday loss or does acceptance set in?
  3. I gotta start watching the team you guys watch.
  4. If today’s results pan out as expected, that run would equate to defeating 3 teams that we are winless against this season. “Won’t be easy” is an understatement. Impossible is more like it. As for being healthy now, X + 0 equals X.
  5. Until you do - you can't. W - 0 L - 3 MV - 3
  6. What is your definition of a run? 1-1?
  7. Feel your mentality, but styles make fights. Witchita State's big is playing his rear off right now. He would destroy Sissoko/Allen. What will be your answer to dealing with him? I would gamble that the coaches & players would prefer a team that their style gave fits vs come one come all.
  8. Not sure if you were being cute with your comment. My mom played ABBA often when she cooked when I was younger. I’m missing home. Thanks for jarring that memory.
  9. This 👆 Dello is now our All-Conference defender.
  10. The movie line was “Check out the big brain on Brad”. Brett was his actual name in the movie, but Jules referred to him as Brad in that line (disrespectfully as his name was Brett).A glowing example, not that it was required, of you repeating inaccurate information simply because it “sounded good”. 🐑 Wrong twice in the same thread 🤣🤣
  11. Point system Home loss -1 Road win +1 Home win / Road loss 0
  12. With those high level role players, you have to hope to outscore people. In every loss you are outscored. In every win you outscore your opponent.
  13. Sorry for the late reply but I’ve been sick & in bed for the past 2 days. How easy is to find a “closer”? My knowledge of UNT closers is limited. Hoo were the last 3 closers prior to Perry? I have only seen one team win it all with a 100% focus on the defensive end. That team had 5 pro players on it. The object of the game remains to have more points at the end of game play than your opponent. A better question would be how long does a fanbase give a coach to find another winning lotto ticket (closer) before it demands a change is philosophy. I would guess these “closers” don’t “grow on trees” or there would be two on the current roster.
  14. Outlier situation. This is not the norm at 99.9% of programs. You are confusing their roles as scholarship players with time on the court during real games. That is not why they were brought to the team. And they stay too? Why? Because they know why they are here. Those guys are vital to the team!
  15. Would you say that number of smart athletes that obtained degrees (earned not given) would be in the neighborhood of 50% or considerably lower? What percentage of current UNT football & basketball players are “Sports Management” majors? The real world equivalent of underwater basket weaving. It’s such a sham. I cringe when I hear graduation rates, knowing dayum well that those “degrees” are near useless. Today’s excuse is so & so % of college graduates are employed in fields different from their course of study. I translate that to most “real world” jobs don’t require secondary education. You have a degree - great. Sit with Joan for the next 2 weeks and she’ll train you. F)-$ a sham. This is a scam. Pay the players as the employees that they are. Keep the “college degree” benefit. It’s used at the same rate as the employee gym at my Dad’s firm.
  16. Impossible to field a team with 12 “playable” players simultaneously. The talent divide is large enough within the team. The talent divide grows exponentially when you play another team. It will never be a one for one swap. Hey Coach, I’m about to rest my best player. They are all good, but Johnny here is the best. I need you to sit Billy so the talent level remains as close to being equal as possible. My #1 for your #1, as we recognize that your #1 is clearly better than my #1.
  17. I will assume that back in the good old days those schools churned out thousands of doctors, and lawyers, and such? Too many documentaries on athletes that couldn’t read or write. It was never about the “student”, it was always the athlete. Once the student/athletes got wind of AD & Coach salaries, TV revenue, etc. vs their “cost of scholarship” the gig was up. I doubt my pediatrician or Family doctor see $700K+ on an annual basis, but then they are not entrusted to install defenses or press breaks. As a player my stance would be to keep your education and pay me for my labor. I would gladly pay for my education with my earnings. If a coach is worth $700K, it would be interesting to see a players true value. Prior to NIL it was the cost of a scholarship. I love NIL. If Company X wants to pay me twice what Company Y is willing, then why would one not take it. I doubt anyone here says pay me the bare minimum. I most certainly am not at UNT because my parents sought or accepted the lowest salary possible in the profession.
  18. Are you saying that you are also a Virginia alum? The usage of the term “Hoos” is embarrassing? I’m so confused by your post. Please clarify.
  19. When were collegiate athletics ever about the “student athletes”? My research has shown never. But of course a student currently in his 20’s more than likely thinks of never as a time frame much shorter than most adults 😃 (Dad says no to Cancun for Spring Break and I say he never allows me to do anything, all while ignoring the trip to Hawaii last year!)
  20. With all due respect, what do you mean by the old days? Five, six years ago or some period in time where my parents hadn’t met? Not a troll, I honestly don’t know the time period of which you are referring. I think you are underestimating the value of player 9 & 10 on a basketball team. Try playing 5 on 5 basketball with 8 guys. Imagine one of our starters playing scout team in order to get the team ready for the next opponent. He can’t run the other team’s offense while defending himself.
  21. Say you know nothing about NIL and its “payouts” without saying you know nothing about NIL and its “payouts”.?
  22. And you followed with the gif. 🤣🤣 Hilariously Pitiful 🤣🤣🤣🤣
