They have a student body of about 20K AND STILL produce better crowds than UNT... EVEN when UNT is hosting P5 competition during a hyped up coaching debut... They had a larger attendance vs Louisiana Tech than UNT did against Cal

You live in Texas... Every aspect of life here is dominated by rich, white, oil tycoons. Why else do you think SMU somehow manages to get state funding even though it's a private university? Oil tycoons donated over 200 million dollars just to push SMU into the ACC This is Texas... EVERY aspect of life is controlled and dominated by oil

The majority of this board wishes to play this game like it's still 1998... The days of traditional recruiting are completely over and look at what Texas State is doing right now. We need to drop this whole philosophy of "keeping guys home" and instead invest ourselves into proper talent through the transfer portal and targeting exact position players we need. This is a diluted market for college sports. The only guys you will get from local talent are the one's that every power 5 school in Texas has passed up on.

Genuine question though... How the Hell do we still even have a football team? I mean we've had virtually no success whatsoever, haven't appeared in the top 25 since the 50's, we got so bad that we were demoted in the 90's. What makes us different from UTA? How do we still exist??
