  1. For some (obviously not all) of these guys, they are coming from situations where money is tight too. If someone said “hey, you can buy your parents a new home now if you come play here” I don’t think there’s a second thought
  2. 3rd stringer at USF doesn't instill much confidence but it'd be worth a try with him. Similar frame to Chandler Rogers and it appears that he's a big threat with his legs. Could just be the clone of Rogers this offense needs so it can produce again
  3. Looks as though the first ball has dropped on 1 of these 2 guys visiting...Former Nebraska QB Chubba Purdy. I'm excited to see who the 2nd QB is because I already like Chubba as a potential fit here!
  4. Kason waited for 3 years and then took his talents elsewhere. Waiting for a 4th year to "maybe" get the starting job is asinine. He left and got a starting job, so that's good for him. I get that the constant revolving door is super annoying, but it's nowhere near the same when it comes to cases like Kason Martin. Sometimes it's ok to put themselves first if the opportunities aren't arising in their current situation
  5. I hate to burst your bubble but star football players weren’t looking at a schools academic standards in the past either. As former Ohio State QB Cardale Jones said back in 2012, “we ain’t come to play school”.
  6. Ya, that was my point. Finley is the guy in Texas State, so unless he’s gone, Hornsby is just the odd man out
  7. Looking to team up with Seth at OU maybe?
  8. Is TJ Finley out of eligibility? Or is he transferring out?
  9. Malik Hornsby, who is coming from Texas State, just entered the portal. Spent 3 years at Arkansas before going to Texas State. Former top 100 recruit. Maybe someone to watch https://247sports.com/player/malik-hornsby-46037405/
  10. Pretty sure Earle was officially in the portal, but you can back out if you choose. He "committed" to ACU, but obviously, that was never set in stone (no pun intended). When Rogers hit the portal it didn't take long for Earle to take his name from the portal
  11. If you're holding out hope that he'll back out of the draft, return to college, and transfer to UNT...get the alcohol flowing now for when the disappointment comes
  12. Coaches have done far worse and gotten HC jobs, so I think Seth is fine on the character side. Getting fired from a mid tier school like UNT is what set his career down a peg. Being OC at OU is his way of beefing up his resume. I can't imagine too many schools were clamoring to hire him to lead their squad after we let him go. He's gotta earn his respect again
  13. I knew in my heart that he never would have come here, but man, that would have been fun
  14. NIL having more incentive based clauses seems like a potential solution. Keeps players in games to get their money. Obviously they’d still have a base pay, but giving incentives feels like that would improve a lot of competitive issues that have come up. Games played, milestones reached, winning the conference etc could be incentives
  15. Congrats on figuring out that making fun of SMU is a running theme on a UNT message board
  16. Hope they have fun in the ACC, with their conference champion getting 60 pieced tonight. Things looking really good for SMU!
  17. You had me on board and then lost me at Sriracha hot sauce
  18. Maybe I missed it, but I don’t remember him being publicly bitter about the firing. Getting fired seems like a good reason to be bitter though lol
  19. I like Morris and hope he works out, but if he doesn’t, would fans be opposed to Cobbs taking over?
  20. I don’t get the Seth hate. UNT let him go, it’s not like he jumped ship and ran to OU. He did a fine job while he was here and I don’t think we should have any animosity towards him
  21. Or “P3” as the delusional SMU fans have begun to call it…not quite sure how that works
  22. Seeing SMU get stomped by a mid tier ACC school makes it all worth it though. Bought their way into that conference just for BC to give them a hard welcome
  23. I’m not exactly advocating for Tx State in the AAC, but I am advocating to put them on our schedule
  24. To me, Texas State makes a lot of sense just like UTSA does. There’s so much overlap between the schools. Similar student bodies. A lot of the students/alumni from each school know students/alumni from other schools. I’m not speaking for everyone, but I know a large group of Tx State fans who would absolutely feed into this rivalry. It’s kind of a “house divided” rivalry to me. Maybe I’m way off, but the reason the UTSA rivalry works so well is because a lot of fans see themselves when they see the opposing fans, and that could be said with Texas State
